Why did you not contact -her- and discuss it? Why would you feel the need to post that -here-, where it can look like retaliation for her speaking up? And for the record, I am certain the lesson in Gandhi's words has more to the point of one must first realize many of the problems and ills one sees in the people around them are, more often than not, a reflection of a problem they see in themselves. I take from it a call for introspection. Hardly something a 'retard' would say, chayea? In the end, what did that 'list' really help? What was it's purpose? Was that to be funny? Insulting for insult's sake? I know that I often get into massive arguments with people, but generally it's in jest; those that it isn't with usually resolve themselves anyway. There are people that do ruin others' fun, however, and they should be warned. I think that in the past, sometimes, people have banned when there isn't a need - but after being banned several times from TGC, I eventually change my attitude and it has worked. Others, (EXAR GANIS) haven't learned. It depends on the individual. Regardless, things should be done and I support the staff in taking action. One concern is that the word FUCKTARDS in big letters across the top of the main page might scare off visitors a little >.>

Why can't people just get on? It's an online game and chat forums. That's it. It's not a place for hatred, from staff or otherwise, I'm pretty sure if you want to argue you can do it on MSN or AIM... As for people being power hungry and taking it too seriously, that reminds me so much of when I first started out years and years ago. After awhile when you mature into the way things work you begin to realise that it�s more about a good storyline. My characters stories all link somewhere along the line, and its fun to figure out new ways for them to evolve. Even more fun though as it�s always changing... It's not about who is the most powerful of them all, its about you, your character, and having fun in both writing RPs and getting involved in the community around you. That's my opinion. As for who's right or wrong in this case, I don't know both sides of the story as much as I would like in order to make a decision, sorry. edit: Sparks left? oh... now I see why Ceel's annoyed... Spark was hurt. Spark left. We'll all miss her, and TGC is going to miss her. But that isn't the problem here. We're causing more problems then solving them here. What we all need to do is forget about the past. Well, not forget, but learn. This thread should be about solving problems, not pointing fingers, blaming people for past problems. How will the staff of TGC prevent these problems from happening in the future? How can we solve these problems with us pointing the blame all around. We're solving nothing here people. And that list isn't helping. The staff on TGC are there because General Ceel thinks they should be. People have been removed from staff before and people have been added. It's not their doing! And no matter how much I want a staff job, I'll never be considered reliable/liked/sane enough to get one There are people with an administrative/metaphorical foot in every faction, and usually these are the ones that help out the most. Those that have great experience, ability or are liked by more will have more power. Sophie Maurow and DarkSkyKerberos have both designed factions. At my factions, I have asked them both - and they have both helped me at various times. Just because they've done the same at various places, it doesn't mean that they are power-hungry. And not just that. There are staff on TGC that have been here since its virtual conception. They are still there because they are still seen as competent by Ceel. And knowing how often his mood swings make him want to stab the lot of us (to be fair, they are his sanest times) it is quite impressive for these people to have been tolerated by him for so long! I know I don't get on with all past and present members of staff (ok, mainly Danster ) but I still wouldn't be two-faced about them, and wouldn't insult their staff abilities after so long in the job. Spark shouldn't be leaving. Various other people shouldn't have left in the past. And likewise several people on this board SHOULD be leaving until they change their attitude. Savin is being quite firm with the Mandalorians, but I haven't seen him do anything remotely power-grabbing. Likewise, Saede appears to be the only staff at TGU that is asked to do stuff all the time. It doesn't mean they're worse than other faction leaders, or admins, etc. To summarise. I miss DonFatso

Can't say I see much of it, since I'm not as active as I used to be (@#%$ deployment), but I've heard rumors that, frankly, I didn't feel like passing along. When someone tried to rally me to some cause or another, I just...kind of closed the window. But...I'd have to side with Relen on this one. I'm not sure what set this whole thing off, and I'd like to know more information behind it.

He has occasionally said "meep", "I've farted" and "you're all retards. Can't you see it says 5 day estimate?" around here for a while... He has lost a friend, a valued member of the community, a great roleplayer - but most importantly, someone who has not only staffed here for a hell of a lot longer than most of the people complaining have even thought of coming here, someone who has held the place together despite having to try and sort out differing opinions, someone who has never done anything to harm the community and done lots to help it - and someone who is genuinely nice, not power-hungry and hasn't done anything to justify what others have done. Perhaps she isn't perfect, and has given an opportunity for a select minority to dislike her. Most people have. That's not an excuse for getting people to treat her like dirt when she's providing everyone with a service. Ceel's right. There is a lot of crap going on behind the scenes that needs to be sorted. I'm going to add myself to the list of people that think this particular list/situation is a bit silly, but only if it was happening all the time. Once in a year is pretty harsh, but when you're losing one of your top few most valuable members because of plain and simple disrespect it is pathetic and going to annoy you. That said, is there any chance you could perhaps replace FUCKTARDS with something slightly less obscene? Something like DISRESPECTFUL REJECTS would do just as nicely >.>

Slightly scary Nah, but seriously I agree. I've been here since 2003. I know he's sometimes a little harsh on those he doesn't know, or those he sees as breaking rules. And he is quick to form an opinion sometimes. But on the other side, he has always been happy to have a laugh with me (ok, at me) despite our differences and has only ever harmed me when I've been doing wrong. He's not, as far as I've seen, randomly assaulted people that have done nothing wrong. Well, maybe rappers. But seriously, there is a wide variety of personalities on the board. Those that dislike Ceel would do so if he wasn't in charge, probably. It's just a clash. And generally those that get in trouble are those that don't like the rules. It's just sad that people lash out at those they don't like instead of resolving differences another way, or going to the person directly and explaining. I'm sure this wouldn't have happened if people had gone to the source of the problem and explained their feelings.
