Re: Wounded, Helpless, and Vulnerable(Open)
Marcus, having no idea why Tantor didn't take the advantage while he could, kept his westar-34 drawn. Against a Jedi, one needed all the help one could get. Even so, the pirate had fought and maintained a tough crew for a reason, and through the many Force users he had battled, the captain he learned much.
Lunging in immediate, the captain attempted to slice the inside of Tantor's sword wrist. At the same time, he squeezed off three shots of the westar-34. Two of the bolts were sent toward the Jedi's torso and the third was meant for his left thigh.
Re: Wounded, Helpless, and Vulnerable(Open)
A bit down the ways on the other side of the deck, a group of soldiers stood to block the entrance of the pirate ship, the airlock still wide open as they flanked the captain and his men from return and retreat. A small but sharp thwik could be heard followed by the sound of grinding flesh with and armor. and the blood curling screams of four soldiers as they fell to the ground stuck by vibro-throwing blades still singing in their hearts.
Guess whose come out to play...
"Ladies" a tall figure stepped out holding six more of the little blades in is right hand and a disrupter carbine in the other, resting on his shoulder. Slender in his red armor and mask he intruded himself "Name's Chaos--": he released the other blades dropping three of the poor souls more to the ground, "what's yours?"
Firing the carbine into the little squall of men he smiled thought these guys would have a bit of manners traveling around with Jedi and all, sheesh he holstered his weapon and unsheathed the two echani blades "Hey captain," He yelled "Did we just board some testosterone enable freak show or are they hold something we could really use?" he started his way to the others as he sliced his way through, barely dodging blaster fire.
Re: Wounded, Helpless, and Vulnerable(Open)
Tantor angled his saber and brought it in a quick inward spin. The blades connected and with the aid of the force Tantor had the cutlass pulled to the outside...while deflecting Tantor rolled to the outside. The shot to his thigh went wide and the two shots that were aimed for his torso nicked his tunic.
"I rather liked this tunic...." Tantor said with a smirk....following that with a downward circular slash followed by a quick thrust.

Re: Wounded, Helpless, and Vulnerable(Open)
Vibrating steel and energy blade colliding, Marcus blocked the downward slash easily. The thrust, however, took him by surprise. Rotating his torso out of the way, the lightsaber still bit into the captain's side. The good thing about lightsabers was that there as no bleeding. The blade left a sort of crescent shaped gash in the captain's side.
Luckily his volumous clothing hid the wound from sight. The effect sort of made the captain appear somewhat unharmed despite the strike. Truth be told, the man was so drunk he hardly felt it.
Firing a bolt toward Tantor's left shoulder, hoping to either make him block it or dodge right, Marcus swung his cutlass towards the master's right side. Then, incase Tantor decided to step back to dodge, he squeezed off three more shots rapidly toward his chest.
The thing about westar-34's was that they were terrible as distance weapons. Up close, however, the high intensity bolts were specifically made for lightsaber combat.

The fight raged on as Ava tailed more starcraft. Her flying skills put to the test as another ship was on her. She saw a light and in that split second she flew downward and watched as the lasers intended for her TIE blew up the ship in front of her. "Haha!" As she spun back around and shot a flurry of lasers, blasting the ship now to bits.

Scanning his sensors, Nathaniel had a plan forming in his mind. He looked out the spherical cockpit at the cruisers the Jedi had brought into the battle. If they could take one of them out...
"Alema! What's the Revenge got on the Jedi's cruisers?" he snapped, calling out to the communications officer. "I want to send the Iron Ferrets after the weakest of their ships. Got any stats for me?"

Saede raced down the hallway, the red-head's direction a bee-line for the nearest airlock. How in the frell had that happened? How could the airlocks be stuck open? It didn't make any sense. For the first time in a long while, she wished Wallace were here. He'd be able to short that all out.
"Alema, Taggart copies," she said over her own comm. "Headed to Airlock designation 2-a as a heads up... if stuff starts going down and I'm needed elsewhere, you're my eyes and ears girl."
Re: Wounded, Helpless, and Vulnerable(Open)
Tantor deflected the first bolt with the saber that was in his left hand and with his Jedi reflexes caught the Pirates wrist as it came in with a sword from the right. Tantor allowed the force to also strengthen his grip on Marcus wrist to the point of fracture.
The pirate though did something unexpected...squeezing off a trio of shots...each of which slammed into Tantor...one caught his left shoulder causing him to drop his saber and spin slightly to the left the next hit clipped his waist straightening him back up and the third caught him squarely in the chest sending him flying through the air into one of the durasteel plates lining the ship. Tantor clutched his chest as he sat slumped there....feeling his chest he pulled his tunic back slightly revealing a blastproof chest plate....still it stung like anything and Tantor coughed a few times trying to catch his breath.

Kai hacked through the foliage of pirates till he came to a clearing; His lightsaber shined like a beacon of hope as he passed his master tantor and the pirate scum he was dueling.
the clearing was littered with the boddies of kai's allies.
Glancing up he saw Chaos "Stand down or we will dance" Kai said spreading his legs and preparing for an attack.
Re: Wounded, Helpless, and Vulnerable(Open)Dance, hmmm like the Madilorian tango or Nagi jitterbug? Chaos looked at the jedi, preperation is a lack of evaluation of one's enemy, initiative and intuition was the way Chaos played.
The echani pushed two blows whith his right blade, defending with the other. Then he seemed to dissapaer in a flash only to reapear behind Kai. Wielding three vibro-throwing blades in each hand he plumeted them in to the air in a volly of hums as they made there way to the jedi. "I play my way, lad, you play yours"

Marcus rolled his eyes. Leave it to the pirate's stars to be fought by the only Jedi in history to have the armor that both withstood high instensity blaster bolts while allowing more maneuverability than a silk shirt. Such is life, he sighed, sheathing his sword and pulling out his other westar-34 pistol.
"Send a detatchment to the bridge of this vessel. I want it commandeered immediately" Marcus said into the comm that connected to all the crew members.
At the same time, he fired randomly and wildly at Tantor. He maintained a distance that would keep the Jedi a good few strides away while at the same time allowing himself enough pivoting space that he could cut the Jedi off if he tried to dodge to either side. With a wall to his back, the Jedi couldn't retreat either. The pair of pistols would be able to cover the master from either side.

Saede rendevoused with two other crew members, all three making their way to the airlock. At the cross hallway just before, another small group of pirates rounded the corner just as Saede received Marcus's message crackling over her comm.
"Aye aye Captain," she returned, glancing at the pirates with her.
"Two of you guard the airlock, the rest of you, with me!"

Kai put all the defense he could muster into his stance, the sword came down on the first blow cutting into his arm, pain shot through his body as the padawan dodged the second blow. Kai was not fit well with lightsaber combat, preferring more hand to hand then anything else.
Awareness arose in the back of his mind as the Force told him danger was about. His enemy was gone. then he felt a sharp pain as three vibroknives cut into his shoulders and side. The other three fell victim to his lightsaber. Kai deactivated his weapon and clip it onto his utility belt, he knew if he took the weapons out he would bleed profusely. reaching out with the force he deactivated the weapons, then he stood in proper stance. "I care not for swords and guns, hand to hand show who a man is in truth"
Re: Wounded, Helpless, and Vulnerable(Open)
Alema surfaced from her computer readout to answer Nathaniel. "Not a whole lot that you aren't aware of. Much as we don't need to be surrounded by their fleet, you've got a big speed advantage on them. Like I said. You know at least as much as I do. Over."
She stepped back over to the captain's console and noted with a smile the message on his screen.
Authorization Accepted.
Alema held back a delighted giggle with all the dignified comportment she could muster. Her job hadn't even begun. She'd only just managed to convince the ship to let her do it at all. Taking over his seat for a moment, Alema began playing with the captain's computer.
Man, this thing is cool. I have to ask who else has been in here setting things up.
Her fingers flew over buttons and icons as she commanded the computer to bring up the control menu for the ship's airlocks.
Unfamiliar command.
"What?" she whispered. "Oh, sneaky little Jedi. Killed my menu." She went around through another command list to make sure they hadn't just disabled the direct menu.
Unfamiliar command.
"I thought as much..." Alema held her lower lip between her teeth as she thought for a moment. They'd made some changes to the system. She doubted any other really relevant changes had been made since the last computer system backup. She quickly ran through in her mind what she knew of the ship's routine. Highly unlikely things had changed much.
Didn't matter. Had to risk it. No other way.
Alema opened up the main controls for the ship's computer and hoped this wouldn't get her in too much trouble. She just couldn't think of another way to get those doors closed. She gave the captain's authorization one more time and instructed the computer system to restore itself to its last known good settings. The settings it had recorded when it last had successfully backed itself up.
Finished.
Now to see if it had worked. She requested the control menu for the airlocks again. As the screen lit up, she saw that the opened airlock was highlighted amber to alert her that it was open. With a sigh of relief she flicked on the security camera in the hallway leading to airlock 2-A. She saw a tall, red-haired woman skidding around the corner with a couple of other crewmen Alema didn't know personally.
Alema sent a quick message to Saede's comm. "Taggart, getting ready to close the airlock. Should work normally now, so once you're through the only people getting on or off this ship will be at our discretion. Standing by for orders. Over."Edited by: Alema Nilim at: 7/4/07 2:15 pm
Re: Wounded, Helpless, and Vulnerable(Open)Outside the CFR
Inson nodded to Nathaniel's transmissions, though he knew the other couldn't see him. Instinctively he began to "maneuver" (again, in a looser sense of the word than he was "flying") the battered TIE Defender towards the hangar bays of the Crimson Ferret. The ride was wobbly, but if the other ferrets kept everyone distracted, well, all would be swell.
"Roger IF leader." he spoke a little too late, as he had just slid himself into the hangar bay. Disengaging the ship, hopping out of the quickly-opened cockpit, and sprinting full-blast away from the Defender (he had a feeling it might explode, after all), Inson ran past one of the Hangar bay's mounted comm stations wired to the bridge, backed up, glanced at it, continued to run, backed up, and considered it one more time before actually grabbing the thing and keying into the bridge; hadn't Nathan said something about a leemur up there?
Inson knew they liked ferrets, but hey, it was good that the crew had branched out since his absence.
"Yo! Ferret, leemur, bridge, whoever; this is Inson Veritas, the previously occupied bo'sun; fill me in? What needs to be done?"
Re: Wounded, Helpless, and Vulnerable(Open)Lemur? Alema thought. The hell? Never heard that one before.
Alema flipped on the comm to the hangar bay. "Welcome back, Inson. This is Cobalt up at the bridge. We attempted to raid a drifting ship, and it turned out to be a Jedi trap. The boarding party is currently engaged in combat on the enemy ship, and if you're available I'd either like you to go offer some reinforcements to the guards at the airlock, or come up here to the bridge and give me a hand."
The truth was Alema didn't feel totally unguarded up at the bridge, but if the Jedi managed to board she would want one or two people to keep them off her back. "Hey you," she asked an officer whose name she would likely never remember. "Go grab one or two of the crew and get them up here to act as guards. I'll be able to work better without Jedi on the bridge."
He nodded, turned on his heel, and jogged out of the bridge, presumably to go find unoccupied crew to drag over to the bridge. Alema turned from him to temporarily unlock the hangar bay doors so that Inson could get into the ship. Hopefully he'd find a way to make himself useful. He certainly wasn't any good outside.
((OOC: Saede gave you guys one opportunity to get involved, and I'm making another. At this point if someone wants to help the raiding party, go with her. If you're looking for a --hopefully-- quieter job, come hang with Alema.))
Re: Wounded, Helpless, and Vulnerable(Open)
Inson didn't need to hear her request twice to know that he should go to the boarding party. Still, he didn't like the idea of a single crewperson up there by their lonesome, though he had heard of Cobalt's exploits during other Underworld operations, and knew her (now that he knew Cobalt was, in fact, a 'her') to be capable. The path to the bridge was short and quick for Inson, perhaps the most short and quick in comparison to the rest of the crew, as he knew the way to the bridge thanks to various maintenance shafts, and he had just plain traveled it so often on his daily cleaning routines (He often joked that daily cleaning was necessary on the CFR, or they would all die. He was joking less than he would have liked).
With a bang and a slide the young cabin boy tumbled into the bridge, looked around quickly, and after ascertaining that neither of them were in any danger, put the custom bryar blaster pistols in their holsters behind the covering of his red coat. Without further ado, he faced Alema, and his eyes went wide.
"Wow, that caught me off guard." the teen smiled;
"...I was expecting a lemur, honestly, I didn't know what Nathaniel was talking about, but if I must say, you seem to qualify for what Cap'n Marcus would call 'a nice piece of tail!'"
...After recovering from any serious bodily injuries, Inson spoke;
"...So, what's the status, boarding party, yadda yadda, is there any chance of them getting here in the near future?"

Gavin followed the group of pirates into the hallway that led to the airlock. In his right hand he held his DC-15 blaster pistol. Bring something bigger like a blaster rifle would have been smarter, but the DC-15 was the only blaster he could hit anything with. Blasters and swords were not his style, up close to your enemy kicking and punching until they were left lifeless was.
Since two pirates were already standing guard at the airlock, he was with the rest of the group now. Gavin looked ahead, and saw that Saede was leading this group. He was glad to have someone with that much experience to lead the group. If some half-wit led them, all of them could get killed pretty quickly.

Long, raven curls resting upon her back. Raven Hinata would be a part of this group that led into the Jedi Ambush. They all ran forward, ready to heave themselves into the line of fire from the force users. She just simply walked in her normal, sauntering way, winking at the pirates staying behind to watch the airlock.
She followed the group forward, armed with her looks, a blaster and her vibroblade. Scanning the perimiter in front of them, she was determined to make her self an active member, even if she did have to get a little dirty. This action would be perfect

It would still be risky. It would also be very ambitious. Nathaniel grinned to himself, more than eager to prove that he and his pilots were as elite as Marcus claimed the Iron Ferrets were.
Flipping the comm back over to the IF channel, he spoke into the headset. "Iron Ferrets, listen up. Dogfighting's fun, but there are bigger prizes out here... if we all gang up on one of those Jedi cruisers, we could take it out. You with me?"
Re: Wounded, Helpless, and Vulnerable(Open)"I care not for swords and guns, hand to hand show who a man is in truth"
This kid was wounded and he wanted to start a tussle, a smile appeared clearly through Chaos's mask, a challenge was a challenge.
Chaos cracked his neck "Fighty time, blood, blood, blood." he said settling into his offensive position and charged, releasing a dangerous flurry of blows consisting of chops and punches ending the combo with a set of devastating roundhouse kick and a leg sweep.

"I vote that one...it looks shiny, new, and expensive..." she said over the IF comm channel, noting to her fellow Iron Ferrets which one she meant.

Re: Wounded, Helpless, and Vulnerable(Open)
"Copy Cobalt. Any way you can get the schematics of the Jedi ship? It'll make finding the bridge that much easier..."
While waiting for a response, Saede glanced back, motioning Raven and Gavin foreward to her position. "Raven, if something goes wrong, you're in charge of getting people out of here if I can't," she said in a low voice, but the tone implied that this was a formality.... Saede had no intentions of things going wrong today.
"Gavin, I want you on rear guard on our way to the command center... don't let 'em sneak up on us. They can see us and we can't see them as long as they are in control of the ship, savvy?"
Re: Wounded, Helpless, and Vulnerable(Open)
Alema took a deep breath and let it out slowly through clenched teeth. "The Captain might call me that, but he thankfully has been respectful enough not to say it to my face."Yet, she finished silently. "Also, I strongly doubt anyone said anything about a lemur. My name is Alema. Ah-leh-ma. No lemurs involved."
The twi'lek paused to listen to Saede's request. She held up her index finger to Inson. "Hold that thought." She took another good look at the readings from the ship. Unless it had been built from the ground up by Yuuzhan Vong on reedug, schematics would be available for it somewhere. Pulling up the model on the Traders' Infonet, she found some basic schematics for this model of ship. Even if they'd modified and customized it more heavily than could possibly be necessary, moving the bridge would be too big and too pointlessly costly a job.
"Cobalt here. Most ships of this variety have two hallways coming from the airlock. Take the left one, it should be quicker. After that keep going straight and ignore the first two rights. Take the third. After that..." Alema gave Saede directions about halfway to the bridge according to the schematic she'd found. "If you forget any of that ask me again. I'll keep the schematic up. When you need the rest, come back over the comm and I'll give you more. Over."
She turned over her shoulder to Inson to answer him. "We found a ship floating with engine problems that was supposedly carrying valuable cargo. Captain ordered us in, so we sent a raiding party over. The other ship sent us a virus that kept our airlocks open, which is why I wanted people guarding them. The ship itself is full of Jedi. Small chance of them getting to the bridge at this point because I got the airlock doors working normally and there're already several of us aboard their ship, and the Iron Ferrets working as well."
Alema sighed and shrugged. "How they're doing over there... tough to say. Nathaniel's been good about keeping in touch with me, but the boarding party itself is understandably a little busy. Saede has been in touch as well, but I expect that to slow down once she gets into the action," she finished with a nod. "That's what I know so far. What've you been up to?"

Gavin moved up quickly and stood next to the first mate, who was giving orders.
"Gavin, I want you on rear guard on our way to the command center... don't let 'em sneak up on us. They can see us and we can't see them as long as they are in control of the ship, savvy?"
"Aye aye, I promise nothing will sneak up on anyone with me on guard."
Gavin quickly moved to the back of the group, wasting no time. If a Jedi came from behind them, he would be able to see them with their lightsabers glowing.... hopefully. He waited for the group to get moving again as he walked backward, aiming his blaster where anyone could be hiding.
