Re: On the Fringes...(CFR Only)
Jon Paolo grunted at the thought of having to fight a crazed mando’ad. Several of his fights while in training on the island were with mandalorians. He had held his own with them then. Now – was a different matter. There he was trained day in and day out to maximize his strength and endurance. Before fights his trainers had always given him a cocktail of drugs; stimulants for speed, analgesics for pain tolerance, psychoactive compounds that increased aggression – the usual fighter’s mix. With his natural size, strength and agility, the drugs made him a formidable opponent.
Since he escaped, he had made a practice of working out whenever possible and he was in very good shape – for a civilian. Against another civilian he would have no problems; however, he no longer had that finely tuned physique required to be a competitive hand-to-hand fighter against a trained warrior.
Besides, he had no beef with this Savin guy. From what he knew, Jon considered Savin to be another victim in this bizarre quandary they all faced. Jon actually respected the mandalorians he knew from the island. Yes, they were aggressive to a fault at times, but – at least those he knew – were honorable men. In fact, if they befriended you, there were no more loyal vods to be had.
So, no. He didn’t want his first meeting with Savin to be confrontational. If a sane Serrena could help; then, he had to agree with Alema – Serrena was the next target.
The headache and the roaring were getting worse. Jon knew he didn’t have much time before he would have to retreat to the holding cell himself. Time to go…
Re: On the Fringes...(CFR Only)
When Curt heard no reply over the comms he was instantly concerned, there should be someone down there... unless they'd all just been spaced. The ships sensors didn't show anyone floating adrift though, he'd better get down there and check the situation.
Making sure the bay doors were now definitely sealed, the Firrerreo jumped up from his seat and began to move for the door, before remembering Kady was still out in the corridor. "Kady," he called sticking his head around the door, "I need to go check on something down at the hangar. You alright here for now?"
Re: On the Fringes...(CFR Only)
“Depends on your definition of ‘alright’,” Kady called back, “But I think that I’m not going to die if I’m left back here. Is there anything else that needs fixing, before you go?” Kady hoped it wasn’t such an urgent call that she couldn’t switch out her fixed piece for a broken one. She was prepared to take the gizmo apart and put it back together until she could do it blindfolded- it was always best to be able to do a job well, and quickly. On the streets, it could mean your freedom, or your life. “Just throw me something down here!”
Re: On the Fringes...(CFR Only)
Inson took in all of the information with a gaze of wide-eyed amazement; Alema was right, he didn't have any idea what kind of difficulty he was encountering here; chasing something? He supposed so, but what did she mean by being all cryptic and such? Something he wouldn't want? Well, the cabin boy had already considered that a distinct possibility already. What could she have been talking about? Why was she acting weird too?
Inson had known Alema for only a little while, but he never would have placed her for one of the odder members of the crew, so perhaps there was more to what was going on in the ship than he knew at the moment. What could he do about that though? Honestly, there didn't seem to be much that could be done about the situation, other than follow Alema's instructions; though she was acting odd, they were the only thing he could go on at the moment...
So Inson listened, and nodded his head in confirmation of all of her instructions. His mind decoded her syllables and words into naught more but feelings and pictures, but everything came together soon enough; he saw Serrena, followed by the Jedi holding cells, and of course, a rather humorous mini-video of himself and Jon dragging a rather unhappy Serrena to said cells.
Inson shrugged. Apparently Serrena was one of the crew people that was acting weird, but Inson still didn't know how easy it would be to get Serrena to said holding cells; if she wasn't acting herself, she would put up quite a fight, a fight that Inson could end with a well-placed stunning bolt, but that same bolt could also make Serrena very reluctant to help them on the account of her being kinda dead, but that would only be if he wasn't careful. Still, Serrena was like a sister to him, and he wasn't sure that was a risk he wanted to take.
Still, Inson knew that he had little choice; choice would come when he knew what the heck was going on. For now, however, he would have to find Serrena. Shooting another nod of respect and thanks to both of them, he moved towards Jon and motioned him to follow;
"Savin's room should be this way; let's just hope we find her sooner, and not later...." he looked back at Alema;
"We'll report back to you when we've found the little prancing whippersnapper, until then, tootles!" And with that, he walked way from the blue-skinned comm officer, with nothing but a smile and a wave.
***
When he and Jon were alone, walking down the halls towards Savin Skirata's quarters in hopes of finding Serrena, with Cobalt gone from their presence, Inson lowered his voice and spoke to Jon about the weird goings on, or rather, simply inquired about them.
"...So...What exactly is going on here? Everyone seems to be more off of their rockers than usual..."
Re: On the Fringes...(CFR Only)"...So...What exactly is going on here? Everyone seems to be more off of their rockers than usual..."
Black eyes glared at Inson, as a momentary surge of rage surfaced only to be suppressed by an extreme effort on Jon’s part. He grimaced from the exertion and pain. The only outward sign that a battle had been won went unnoticed as his eyes reverted back to their usual deep green.
He was unsure what to tell the youngster. He had never believed in withholding information that can affect others’ lives; but, he wasn’t sure this time. None-the-less, he decided to be honest and tell Inson all he knew.
“Inson, are you familiar with the concept of a force ghost?”
He remembered someone else asking him that question, and, thinking of Lori, a sad smile marked his lips.
“It seems the Revenge has been invaded for an undetermined number of a form of parasitic force ghosts. They gradually break down a person’s resistance and take control of their body. Serrena is possessed. Alema is possessed. I have been and will be again soon. Savin must be. The fact that you aren’t gives us hope.”
Jon paused a minute to allow Inson to take that all in. Walking into the area of the crew’s quarters Jon asked, “Say. Aren’t we going right by my quarters up here?”
A nod from the stunned lad was all the answer he received.
“Good. There’s something there we can use.”
Upon reaching his quarters, Jon quickly went inside and found his med kit. Looking through the small vials, he found what he wanted, loaded it into an injector and set the dose on the actuator.
Turning to Inson he said, “Take this. All you have to do is jam it against a person’s neck and it will dose them. This is Conergin. At this setting, it will knock out someone my size in about 5 seconds and keep them out for about 20 minutes. If I loose it, dose me. Don’t hesitate. Then drag me to the Jedi holding cell. Hopefully we won’t have to use it on Serrena; but, if Savin shows up, I’ll try to occupy him while you inject him. If either of us don’t go down within 5 seconds, dose us again. GOT IT??!?”
Jon felt his control weakening and was feeling frantic. He placed his hand on Inson’s shoulder, looked him in the eyes and said, “A lot’s depending on you. Be ready to step up.” Taking a deep sigh, he continued, “Lead on. We need to hurry.”

Curt grinned at Kady's light-hearted response, she seemed right at home here and he was fairly impressed at how quickly she'd managed to deal with the motivator. "I tell you what," he called back with smile as an idea came to him, "come with me and we can swing by the turbolaser batteries afterwards so I can show you where that thing goes, what it does, how to fit it... all that jazz. You game?"

Re: On the Fringes...(CFR Only)
A deep purr emanated from the dancer's throat as she stepped out of a darkened alcove. Briefly sated pleasure radiated from her being, a bloody track mark on her arm and a rapidly darkening bruise around her neck the source. Brilliant, jewel-like blue eyes gleamed in the light, though remained a touch unfocused as the devil's bane coursed through her veins.
A dazed and expressionless crewman stumbled out of the alcove behind her, staggering back down the hall to his quarters. Mmm...we'll have to remember that one...oodles of untapped potential there. I don't know why you hadn't let him touch you until now.
Because I have higher standards than that...and before you mention my former occupation, for those, I got paid more money than you ever saw in your lifetime.
The spirit laughed, a bright, bell-like sound that echoed down the hall way. Too true, my little hellion! Let's scamper on down and find that Mando of yours, shall we?
No...not Savin...he won't...he shouldn't see me like this...Serrena screamed inside of her own head, struggling for control of herself. It was short-lived, though, as the spirit who had her claws in her flesh knew her all too well. Ooo...you like him, don't you...he's not just a fling to cauterize the wound that other bastard left...my my my...
Serrena retreated into the corner of her mind that she could lay claim to, shuddering and weak from the effort. The spirits words had hit a little too close to the truth.
The dancer's body sauntered slowly down the hall, kicking off her spiked heels and padding barefoot around the bend in the hallway. Up ahead, a doorway beckoned, lingering just slightly open. "Ohhh Savin..." she called out, the spirit's inflection darkening Serrena's natural voice considerably.
Re: On the Fringes...(CFR Only)
She watched Jon and Inson go, pleased to see them doing as they were told. Hopefully Jon would be able to keep his wits about him long enough to finish the task set out for him. If not, she'd have problems. She sighed and rubbed one temple with her thumb. If Jon were in his right mind he could be her most reliable ally, but because she couldn't truly rely on him she would need to reduce him to a lackey at best.
Depending on Savin and Serrena she might be in the same situation with them. Because under normal circumstances they would be the staunchest protectors of her host, she knew that they were less likely to harm her and more likely to protect her if she needed it.
Unfortunately things had progressed too far, too fast. There were too few stable people for her to use, and that meant she'd have to make due with what she had. Uncapping the first vial of glitterstim she watched for the telltale blue sparkle that earned the drug its name as it activated in the light. Laying the brittle dark fibers on her tongue, she closed her mouth and leaned on the wall to wait.
The limitations of this body seemed to fall away and finally she was everywhere. She hoped she wouldn't have to keep herself on these drugs indefinitely to use her own abilities but this was the quickest way to make the best of what little her host had to offer her.
The ship stopped feeling like metal walls, circuits, rooms, decks, and equipment. Suddenly she was watching an ant colony constructed between panes of glass. Nothing but life and movement and swarming busy creatures. So many of these creatures were her own kind, her own allies until they proved dangerous to her. They would come for her when they realized what she was doing.
There were a few scattered individuals who were dim in her sight. They were not carrying her kind. They were not possessed. They were free, and she needed them. Alema looked around for an intercom panel, and realized that she'd slid down the wall and was sitting on the floor with her legs stretched out. Funny how a body could do these things without permission when sufficiently saturated with drugs. Alema wondered what it would do with the second dose.
She stood, blinking a few times to clear away the distracting sharpness of details in her sight. Already she was getting her footing again, and she was momentarily impressed by the tolerance of her host. She might need the second dose just to maintain her high. Very interesting.
Thumbing the keypad on the intercom, she sent a message to a few isolated corners of the ship, places with low concentrations of her kind. They couldn't know she was doing this.
"Cobalt here. If people around you are acting strange and you'd like to know why, come see me at the intersections of hallways 34 and 91. Don't tell anyone who's lost control, but make it fast. There isn't much time. Cobalt out."
Her message delivered, she waited with the second vial of glitterstim in her palm. Hopefully one or two of the crew still possessing their free will would find her before she needed to start doing more drug-assisted reconnaissance.
Re: On the Fringes...(CFR Only)
“Yeah!” Kady shouted, getting up unsteadily as blood rushed back into her legs. “I’m as game as…as game as…” She faltered. What did you say in response to that particular phrase? Finally she shouted, “I’m game!” and skipped back up the corridor towards the engineer’s voice after gathering all her supplies together again. When she found Curt, she saluted him just for the sake of it, “Ready to inspect the batteries, sir! Do you have any bandages, sir! I cut my fingers, sir!” Despite her attentive position, the corners of her mouth couldn’t help but curl up.
Re: On the Fringes...(CFR Only)
Yet again Curt found himself grinning at Kady's seemingly endless enthusiasm, he could teach a lot to this one if she kept this up. Chuckling at the girl's little salute, the Firrerreo frowned in concern at the cut on her hand. "There's no need for the salutes, and sirs," the engineer told her with a laugh, "just call me Curt. Now how did you manage that? I'll get you a bacta patch."
Grabbing some small bacta strips from one of the lockers nearby, Curt began to bandage up Kady's hand, before being distracted by the chirping of the engineering console. Than, making sure the strip was secure, the Firrerreo wandered over to the dashboard to pick up the call. "Hi there Cobalt this is Curt," he called into the inbuilt mike, hitting a button to send his response. "Havn't noticed anything odd down this neck of the woods, but I'll come up and give you a hand. Stormchaser out."
Curt was worried, Alema wouldn't have been talking like that unless something was seriously wrong. He'd better get over there. "Kady," he called over his shoulder to the girl, "something's wrong, we need to go. Now. Grab what you want and let's make tracks." Making sure he had all his standard gear with him Curt headed for the exit, what in the galaxy was going on on this ship?

Re: On the Fringes...(CFR Only)
By the time Curt found his way to the intersection where Alema was waiting, she had tossed back another vial of glitterstim. She only had one left. There for emergencies. She sat with her knees pulled up to her chest, gazing blankly ahead of her. Moment by moment, as more of the drug entered her bloodstream, Alema watched her plans rolling out in front of her like a thousand spools of thread, overlapping and tying each other in knots. There had to be a safe way. A way to keep this body and have her own life again.
The Firrerreo and his young lady friend turned the corner and the blue woman on the floor slowly turned her head to watch them come.
"Safe," she said. "Empty vessels can't be filled. Not anymore." She closed her eyes and leaned her head back against the wall. "The others will find me. Words are sand on the wind, and mine come as the end of eternity. Eternity for my kind." She held out her arm to them and beckoned them closer. She swept through their minds briefly, finding Curt's name in Kady's mind and Kady's in Curt's. "Curt and Kady. Sit with me. You will have to remember everything."
Re: On the Fringes...(CFR Only)
Kady’s smile faded as she listened to Curt. Flexing her newly bandaged hand, she grabbed a bag and crammed the hydrospanner, data pad, gizmo and all into it. She ran after curt, trying hard to keep up, cursing her shorter legs. Breathing hard and pounding down the corridor, she wondered exactly what kind of “trouble” Curt had meant. With various scenarios flashing through her brain, when they reached the blue woman, Kady was ready for anything but what she saw before her.
At the man drew them close to her, and Kady listened with all her might, but the woman seemed to be speaking in riddles, compared to the plain, direct, almost non-existent speech that she was used to. She was the chatterbox of a world on the streets where a few words and a couple of grunts were enough to get the message on. She sat next to the woman, and repressed to urge to hold her hand, as if she were at a sickbed. Some didn’t like their personal space invaded…even when they looked like the woman did.
She nodded the affirmative to the lady’s request. It may sound like gibberish to her, but remembering, even the smallest details was something she could do, and do well.
Re: On the Fringes...(CFR Only)"Words on the wind. Do you record the wind in the sand? Words. Words are blown away. Written in stone, read by none, words and records are made and undone." Her eyes rolled back to stare at the floor in front of her. She pressed her palms to her forehead and gave a long, low whine in the back of her throat. "Hands. Use your hands. Don't let them use you. They will, they'll..."
Her gaze drifted again, wandering and unfocused. "...or they'll use you on the end of a string. Feet kicking. Kicking. Dancing to the music of the dead. So your hands," she said, suddenly passionate and insistent. "Use them!" She reached out and grabbed Kady's shoulder. "But they can still take you, even through your hands. Ah... no..."
Withdrawing from Kady, she buried her face in her hands. "This could all fail."
Re: On the Fringes...(CFR Only)"Cobalt here. If people around you are acting strange and you'd like to know why, come see me at the intersections of hallways 34 and 91. Don't tell anyone who's lost control, but make it fast. There isn't much time. Cobalt out."
Green eyes flared obsidian with rage.
What’s that little fool think she’s doing! I’ll rend her piece by piece!
NO! You will NOT hurt Alema!
HURT her? I’ll consume her! And YOU have interfered for the last time. I was allowing you to remain, thinking you may prove useful, but, on the contrary, you have shown yourself to be a pitiful, sentimental caitiff. I will tolerate you no longer.
A swirling mass of dark power collected around that which was identifiable as Jon inside the shared body. It inexorably coiled around Jon’s essence, containing it, smothering it, isolating it within a dark shell; rendering him a helpless prisoner within his own body.
With Jon totally overcome, the new master began to examine his prize. He was shocked to find Jon rife with midi-chlorians, though there was no evidence of force-sensitivity. Looking closer he found the reason. Jon had been force-severed as an infant.
Ah, what a waste. What kind of zealotry would cause a parent to do this to one with such great potential? None-the-less, you will provide an excellent repository for me. I will never be severed from the force and you will feed me all I need. I will show you wonders you’ve never imagined.
Chuckling to himself, he experimented. Something simple at first – a simple levitation. Taking the light saber he found in Jon’s pocket he levitated its hilt a short distance down the corridor and back to his hand.
Ah, some things you just never forget.
Now, something a bit more challenging – one of his favorites – a kinetite. Holding out his hand, palm up – he called on the force and a crackling ball of kinetic energy coalesced in his hand. Laughing with joy, he reabsorbed the energy rather than physically throwing or casting it using telekinesis.
His experimentation was interrupted by the sound of a familiar, very feminine voice.
"Ohhh Savin..."
Turning to the highly confused boy, Jon said, “Inson, wait here. Come quickly if I call you.”
Jon hurried around the corner of the intersecting corridors. Ahead he saw Serrena approaching a partially opened door.
“Serrena! I’m so glad I found you. I came looking for you as soon as I could get away from that blue witch!” Edited by: Jon Paolo at: 8/30/07 3:23 am
Re: On the Fringes...(CFR Only)
“Of course I’ll use my hands,” Kady almost-whispered, unnerved by the strange woman’s words, “Of course I’ll use them. How could I not? But,” she asked, worried, “Who can take me, and use my hands against me?” there was something very strange going on, and Kady inwardly cursed her isolation from the rest of the crew. Of course, it had been self inflicted- a result of her dislike of unfamiliar territory, but it still concerned her that something extremely bad was happening on the ship.
She felt the panic she’d felt earlier- something going wrong, something she didn’t know anything about- how could she survive if it happened to her? From what she could decipher from the woman’s words, whatever it was very likely to happen to her. Her brow creased as she frowned.
“I’m listening, I’m listening,” she assured the woman, “But tell me, if you can, what could fail?”

The dancer stopped in her tracks, her posture stiffening ever so slightly as she pivoted to face Jon. Her face was a flickering mask of expression, annoyance warring with intrigue for control. Serrena, cowering in a tiny corner of her own being clutched etheral knees tightly to her chest and rocked back and forth, murmurring.
The spirit smiled slowly, stretching the dancer's lush lips in a decadent look. She reached back with her fingertips, gently nudging Savin's door open, jewel-blue eyes roving hungrily over every inch of Jon as he stood nearby.
"Jon...I'm so...pleased that you've come to your senses..." she purred, dark and deviantly wicked. Deft fingers pushed the door the rest of the way open before she took a step away, towards him as her expression slowly warmed. Tanned skin was flush with warmth, so much of it visible and flawless, in the tiny mass of threads she called a skirt and top.
Serrena's fingers came up to toy with a loose raven curl, bright eyes flashing at him through dark lashes.
Re: On the Fringes...(CFR Only)Jon reached out, took Serrena’s hand and, kissing her fingertips, invited her closer.
“How could I not?” he responded softly,.. intimately. “I’ve wanted you since I first saw you, and… I think you feel the same way.”
He placed her hands on his shoulders and, slowly slid his hands down her sides, then around her waist to the small of her back, and pulled her tight against him. His breath was warm on her neck as he deeply inhaled her aroma. So delicious…
Ebon orbs studied Serrena’s sapphire-blue eyes curiously, a shadow of recognition forming.
“My beloved, is it truly you? Look beyond this husk of a man I occupy and search deep within the darkness of my soul and remember, my love! Remember! We who were inseparable an eternity ago; we who ruled inviolate side by side; are we now to be reunited, my treasure? Look into me and remember!” Edited by: Jon Paolo at: 8/30/07 3:24 am

Brilliant sapphire orbs shone in the light, though half lidded from the pleasure of his touch. She leaned against him, pressed close as his hands stroked across the soft, flushed skin of his lower back. The tips of his fingers brushed the very edge of a star-shaped brand, the raised, scarred flesh still raw as if the mark were new.
"I know I've felt the same way...and to think that blue with was going to keep you all to herself...I'm...so pleased...that you came to me..." Serrena purred softly, her tone lush and intimately suggestive. Slender fingers traced his strong shoulders, her fingers slowly savoring the strength she could feel underneath the fabric. Hands slid behind his neck, fingernails scoring lightly against his warm skin.
The tone of his voice changed with his next words, deepening, darkening with a slithering sense of dark power. Malevolence lit his gaze, making her breath catch in her throat. "Samael...its you...my love, I despaired of ever feeling you again..." she breathed softly, one hand lifting from his neck to trace his facial features.
"...you chose a delicious form this time..." Serrena purred, her sapphire gaze fluctuating with touched of dark energy.

Re: On the Fringes...(CFR Only)
Deep within the recesses of the bunk inhabited by the D'xun-born Mando'ad, known to his shipmates as Savin Skirata, something very much unlike the dwelling's normal inhabitant stirred.
More than one presence would be felt from within by those so inclined to do so. In fact, -many- presences would be felt inside that room. Of them, three would stand out from the rest as exceptionally notable. One of these would be a dark, sultry presence that seemed to dominate most of the others. Another would be a wild, untamed presence that was both the savior and the undoing of the other two. The third was a force of pure, white-hot rage. An anger that could only be appeased by the complete expulsion of the visitors in question. An animus that could only belong to the D'xun-born Mando'ad.
But, the warrior was -not- what slowly stalked out of the darkened bunk on all fours as if it was perfectly natural. A deep warning growl rumbled from deep within his comparatively massive chest as wild, grey eyes locked onto the gentleman pirate's form. He scented a female out here. -His- female. He was too close. His scent was mixing with her's. This male was -not- about to take the right to spawn with her away from him. She was marked. She was clearly the D'xun beast's. And that was as far as the monster in the warrior's body was going to think about it as his unnatural, rage laced keening filled the halls.
Re: On the Fringes...(CFR Only)"Samael...its you...my love, I despaired of ever feeling you again...”
“Lilith! At last! How I’ve longed for you my wife!”
Hungry lips sought hers. He kissed her ravenously,… intensely. How long had it been since their lips had touched? A millennia? As long as it had been, it seemed like yesterday. The remembered sensations, the flavors, the sounds she made…
"...you chose a delicious form this time..."
He held her apart from him for a moment and studied her new body. Grinning broadly, he pulled close once more.
“And your choice is exquisite,” he exclaimed. He kissed her again. This time the intensity fueled by the remembered love the two had shared. Soon, however, the needs of a eon apart overwhelmed all else. Greedy hands explored and caressed her new form.
Recognizing and being reunited with Lilith strengthened Samael. A maelstrom of dark passion swept through him and swirled around the couple; encircling and intertwining their dark energies together. As exquisite as that pleasure was for the two, it was but a brief bit of foreplay for what lay ahead.
"rrrRRAAAAAAAOOOOUUHHH!!!!"
Samael sensed the beast’s approach before he heard it. Instinctively he formed a force barrier around Lilith and himself then watched curiously as the beast flailed against the protective energy.
“Lilith, love, if this is one of your pets, please see if you can control it. My patience grows thin.”

Axl's eyes struggled to open as firey pain ignited in his head. Focusing on the ceiling of the hallway it dawned on the crazy pilot that he had been knocked unconscious.
The wrench laying on the floor confirmed his suspicions. Axl shook his head as he struggled to his feet. The last thing Axl remembered was going to confront Savin about upsetting Saede. Axl had been at Savin's door calling him out so logic dictated that Savin hit him. Anger welled up in Axl as he strode off to deal with the big Mando. " I'll teach you Savin, no longer will you man handle the women of the crew"
Now all Axl had to do was find the Mando.

Re: On the Fringes...(CFR Only)
Pleasure and dark power rippled powerfully through her senses, clawing its way to every corner of her new body and burning away what traces of Serrena that remained. It was a decadent, intense sensation, her new body absorbing the energy like a desert absorbing water.
Lust burned brightly through her veins, Samael's fingers working wonders on her new flesh and giving her the most deviant notions. Poring through Serrena's memories was a delightful past-time, several of which she shared with her love through the bond that was reforming between them. The girl was nearly as lustful and wanton as she was during her mortal years.
This was going to more fun than she'd originally thought.
Lilith turned in Samael's hands, resting hers atop his as they roamed her expanse of bare, flawless skin. "The pet is not mine, my love...he's the plaything to my recently departed hostess." She wrinkled her nose, peering through the Force barrier at the very feral-seeming creature Savin had become.
"Knock him back and leave him, I feel someone else coming to settle an old score with him...let us return to my new chambers. I have such wonderful and devious things to show you!" Lilith purred with lush, wanton delight.
Re: On the Fringes...(CFR Only)
Samael sighed, the fingertips of his left hand gently tracing the outline of Lilith’s right breast. “I had thought more along the line of eviscerating him and strangling him with his own intestines; however, it will be as you wish my love. But, first….”
Exhaling deeply, a sickly, green tendril of light snaked out of Samael’s mouth and wove its way sinuously to Savin where it struck his forehead and entered. His eyes now closed, Samael observed as his projection explored the Mandalorian’s mind.
“Quite a crowd you have in here Mando’ad, though they are mostly insignificant animals. When Gillian sprang her despicable trap, all lives within range were taken regardless of what they were. That’s why you have that howling beast running amok. None of these are especially strong by themselves, but, together, they were too much for you, weren’t they?
Mando’ad, I sense you are a better man than this. I will do this much for you. I will remove all the intruders except for the hellhound. As he seems to be in control now, if I took him it would do you more harm than good. When I’m done, you will be left to drive the last intruder out on your own and regain your control. Jate’kara, vod. Re’turcye mhi.”
With that, a gaping maw opened on the end of the green tendril and began swallowing the beings one by one, leaving only the beast and Savin. Samael wasn’t known as the Devourer of Souls without reason.
The green tendril snapped back into its source and with a thought and a slight flick of his right hand Samael sent the stunned Mandalorian flying back down the corridor.
Wrapping both arms firmly around Lilith he nuzzled her neck tenderly and said, “Now, my treasure, we have unfinished business.”
Re: On the Fringes...(CFR Only)"Oh......" Alema groaned deep in her throat. "I don't want to go back. Not leaving is not going till the left is right. I don't want to leave." She lifted her head from her hands and her hard gaze locked with Kady's, suddenly lucid. "They come for their queen. One who would rescue a slave, one who would devour a goddess, one who has no regard for anyone at all." She held her hand out in front of Kady's face, fingers splayed wide open. "They cannot be allowed to touch me before I am complete. I don't want them again."
She lowered her hand and stared into her palm thoughtfully. "But we are already joining, and soon I will be too powerful for them." A smile crept to the corners of her lips, and she leaned closer to Kady, crouched on her hands and knees. She whispered, "The goddess and the slave. Together we become all things and if I can take her I won't need to consume the others."
A low chuckle cascaded upward into a high, nervous giggle. "I'm so close to never needing them again, but you have to make sure they don't touch me. My body is the only thing between them and me, but I only want the two of us, her and me. Two into one is healthy and good. But so many...." Her tone turned strained and pleading. "So many and I get lost, Kady. I want to stay. Not leaving is not going till the left is right."Edited by: Alema Nilim at: 8/31/07 2:16 pm
