Re: On the Fringes...(CFR Only)
At first, Nathaniel thought Devorah was responding to him when she cried out in sudden panic. He quickly understood though that she was caught in the throes of another terror of some kind and scrambled to his feet.
No matter what though, Nathaniel couldn't move or respond quickly enough to stop the torture that befell Devorah. He couldn't see the spectre of her master nor could he adequately respond. Not, at least, until it ended and Dev curled up and was coughing.
He dropped down onto his knees beside her, ineffectively patting her upper arm. "Dev... Be'lle... it'll... it's okay... I... it's all over... I hope..."
Her top was intact despite what she'd experienced in the dream-vision. Still, Nathaniel saw it darkening with blood. Murmuring for her to "hold on," he ran for a medkit that was stored in one of the IF footlockers.
"Won't hurt you," he whispered, gingerly moving so that he could reach her wounds and apply a bacta salve to them with bandages.
"Na'thaniel'oruodo... she's weakened... maybe that is more your style... take her... you know you want her... the galaxy knows you do... be a man for once..."
Nate bit back a gasp. Across the hangar, leaning casually against his own TIE was his father. Again. He shook his head vehemently and looked back to Devorah, tending her wounds.
"I am being a man," he said through gritted teeth. "The Red Flame that you never were..."

Rok's punch missed and the little critter snuck behind him and leapt onto his back...flailing for a few seconds the wookiee failed to dislodge her...Rok grunted as she patronized him....calling him an animal...he'd show her.
Lugging the parasite that rested on his shoulders, Rok began moving for the expulsion switch. The red flashing light bringing him in like a lighthouse beacon.
"Rok send you on a ride little girl.....Just hang tight."

Re: On the Fringes...(CFR Only)"You do realize, you walking carpet, that you'll come with me, right?"
The disembodied voice growled through Serrena's lips as she clung to Rok's shoulders. Her arms snaked around his neck and her legs pressed tightly into his sides. A comical sight from afar, and it made the little bit of Serrena left in her own mind giggle a bit madly.

Devorah whimpered and curled up on her side, shaking as Nathaniel approached her. She whispered faintly to him, but didn't move as he gingerly lifted the shirt up her back. "I'm...n-not supposed t-t-to talk t-to you... he'll...he'll get mad at me again..."
Hot tears splashed down her cheeks as the bacta stung the deep wounds. "I disappoint him alot...I'm not a very good slave. S-spilled his stimcaf yesterday and I haven't been allowed to eat since. I try, though...honest, I really t-try."

Re: On the Fringes...(CFR Only)"Shh..." Nate had just enough presence of mind to realize that if her phantom master wanted her quiet, then she ought to be. For now, anyway. "Don't talk, Be'lle... I'll... make sure--"
"You'll make sure what? That you can get her 'safe and sound' so you can finally do what you're told? So you can finally be a man, Na'thaniel'oruodo?"
Nate groaned, hearing the nightmarish voice again. He did not look up, but instead gently patted down Devorah's tunic. Oddly enough, the words did give him an idea.
"Let's... let's get out of here, Phonix," he said, purposely using her call-sign in the hopes that that would help Dev back to 'reality.' "To the cantina or our quarters. Somewhere not... here."
Of course, Nate didn't realize that whatever was affecting them had also impacted most of the CFR crew.

Nate had not heard Axl and now Devorah had shown up and was acting all weird as well. Axl needed to find out what the hell was going on and as Savin was one of the first to act weird, Axl thought he would start there.
Axl made his way to Savins room and banged on the door. " Yo Savin, you in there, I need a quick word?"

Re: On the Fringes...(CFR Only)"Phoenix? Pretty bird..." Devorah whispered, only partially recognizing her call sign. It relaxed her enough to let Nathaniel help her up, though her fingers reached for her hydrospanner to take it with her.
"Quarters...better...I'm not allowed outside the house..." she whispered, eyes wide as she looked around and behind herself, searching for any sign of him.

Nathaniel nodded, looping Dev's arm over his shoulders and holding her at the waist. They walked slowly and rather awkwardly. It was made complicated for Nathaniel because his father's disembodied voice continued to taunt him no matter how he quietly swore and urged the phantom to leave him be.
Is this happening to Serrena too? Or is he only haunting me?
He decided he'd try to find that out, once he had Devorah somewhere... safer. That was a dubious task though as they moved out of the hangar and into the Revenge's corridors. Nate could hear mania clearly in the others' though they didn't see anyone firsthand.
"I got a bad feeling about this, Dev..." he muttered.

As it seem after quite some time of working to establish herself and rid herself of the nightmare of her past. Forgetting the ghost that haunted her mind still as the lingering unanswered question remain. One which for the life of her she could not fanthom to answer anymore that she could escape it.
Where in still a bit shaken by the strange goings on within the ship. Sam for once seem to become unnerved and for the most part. As she made her way towards the safety of the Shadow Dawn . She tried in earnest to avoid or bypass anyone in her path as she slowly made it towards the Hangar bay where it was.

Her hand clung tightly to the hydrospanner as if her life depended on it, her grip white-knuckled and trembling. Wide, tear-filled eyes kept skittering around the passageways as Nathaniel led her, searching for any sign of her owner. Not only had she spoken to someone without permission, but she'd let him touch her, even if only to help.
Last time that had happened, it had earned her a beating that had put her in the medcenter for nearly a month. Devorah shuddered, huddling into Nathaniel's side, her eyes unfocusing and focusing randomly.
"Getting dizzy...wanna sit down..." she whispered, her already light-feeling head beginning to spin.
Re: On the Fringes...(CFR Only)
Reaching the bay door release switch Rok planted a firm furry hand on the switch and pulled...the bay doors slowly climbed open....wind whipping by the pair as excavation gear started to get sucked out of the bay door.
The wookiee's massive legs began to shake then they started to slide...eventually he was horizontal and swaying with the wind. His backpack was probably floating in the wind with him...her grip loosening.
The evil voice inside of him laughed at the thought of the petite creature on his back drifting out in space...a grin spread across his face.....her hands slipped.....
"NOOOO!" Rok screamed grabbing her hand with one of his arms.....the rest of the gear was dispelled and the door closed....the two finding a resting place on the ground.

"Aye Captain," she murmured.
Right now, Saede would have taken any excuse to get off of the bridge. She frowned as she headed out into the corridor, shaking her head.
This was not going at all as planned. For a moment, she almost turned around to go back and speak with Marcus. Convince him to turn around, to go back to Velusia... just.... anywhere but here.
Then she shok her head. No, nothing she could say would change his mind now....

The ship now orbited the planet. All Marcus needed was the go-ahead from Saede and then they would land. It was so close. Within reach!
Striding over to the captain's throne, he began to arm himself with his usual effects. Griswald cowered in the corner, undescribably scared of Marcus. That was something highly unusual as well. Marcus usually brought the ferret on most missions.

They were close enough to his quarters aboard the ship that Nathaniel could guide her the last few steps to his room before losing his grip on her. Nathaniel felt nervous about this, given their turbulent relationship? friendship? and how they tended to run hot and cold in each other's presence.
"In here..." he said anyway, keying the hatch open.
"That's it, Na'thaniel'oruodo... take her to your room, and then--"
"Enough!" he roared back in Cheunh. To Dev, he murmured an apology for shouting and ushered her inside. "I think we're going to be landing soon. That worries me."

Devorah squeaked in surprise, her eyes going wide as he shouted back over his shoulder. She'd have fallen over if it hadn't been for his arm around her waist. Once inside, he moved his arm and closed the door securely behind them.
The young woman took a deep breath, finally setting the hydrospanner down and wincing at the ache in her hand. A moment later, and she sat down abruptly on the edge of Nathaniel's sleep-couch, dazed as the pain made itself known again. She blinked several times, trying to find some measure of clarity as she felt herself slipping further and further away.
Odd then, that she was comfortable with Nathaniel, when they were usually at eachother's throats. But he'd offered her some measure of safety in light of her owner's wrath, and what was left of her sanity clung to it.

Serrena moaned softly, holding her head despite its efforts to split itself open in several directions. Gingerly, she touched the back with her fingers and felt blood trickling from a gash. Muttering, she tried to stand and failed, an overwhelming dizziness setting in.
It took her a moment to realize the spirit's hold had loosened for a bit. The moment she tried to wrest control of her mind back, he taunted her and pulled it away again.
Her hand reached out and grabbed a chuck of durasteel, from a shattered crate that had been sucked out into space. She hurled it at Rok as she sat up, holding her head and leaning back against the wall.
"Bloody @#%$ overgrown sentient carpet..." the low, gravelly voice groaned out through her mouth.

To which it seem, not hard for Sam to sneak round seem still unable to shake the uneasy feeling she felt. That seem make her weary of the company of other...seeing as very few gave her mind anyway. That seem just as she cross one of the hallways she hears a loud thud and bang then loud swoosh. Which having grow up on board a ship she figure was from some sort of hatch problem. That made her stop in her tracks as a faint whisper pass her ears.
' What the? Can't you do anything right kid?...the hatch...close down the hatch...'
Which promted her to rush ahead to check this out seem not much out of anything. But to prove herself if she was real hear this or imagining it . But then getting to the general direction of where the noice was come from and poke her head in to peak. She then see something fly pass her head and barely move out of its way in time.
"What the?..."
She blurts out unintentionaly as looking back from where it came from she notes a seem perplexing sight. Of the big burly Wookie with someone hang on his back.
Re: On the Fringes...(CFR Only)
Rok whipped his head out of the way just in time for the chunk of durasteel to crash into the wall behind him. Leaping to his feet Rok tried to get a bit of distance from Serrena before she found something else to throw.

Re: On the Fringes...(CFR Only)"Serrena's not here right now..."
YES I AM! She snarled back at the voice in her mind, finding enough purchase in her body to slam her head down on the durasteel decking.
Pain burst in brilliant waves across her senses, making her eyes fill with tears as they reverted back to their glowing crimson. Her vision blurred as she looked up at Rok, a hell of a gash across her temple that bled freely. She tore off part of her shirt and held it to the wound, struggling to manage to speak.
"Rok? That really you? Something's seriously wrong, big brother...something's not right." she blinked as tears spilled down her cheeks.
Re: On the Fringes...(CFR Only)
Rok still kept his hands out in front of him out of caution.
"Serrena? What's going on?"
Rok was unaware that he himself had been possessed...all he remembered was coming into the hangar and then having to save Serrena...the panic of that coupled with his little sister brutally attacking him then slamming her head into the durasteel before acknowledging him was almost too much to handle.

Serrena propped herself up on a nearby ruined cabinet, resting back against it as she held the blood-soaked rag to her forehead.
"I think I drew my sais on you..." she said softly, wondering why the memory was so fuzzy when she could swear she'd been watching it clearly.

Re: On the Fringes...(CFR Only)
Saede's comm link had started beeping at some point, but oddly enough she hadn't noticed it until now. She frowned, glancing down at it curiously.
Wallace, when he'd still been with the crew, had rigged it up so that any alarms would be routed through her communicator as well as through the ship's main systems. This particular sound it took her a moment to place, but then suddenly her eyes widened.
Someone had opened an airlock on dead space.
Saede broke into a run. Fortunately, the message also told her which airlock... and that it *had* been closed again.... but that hardly seemed to matter at the moment. With everything that was happening, it wouldn't surprise her if someone had gotten forcibly spaced.
The redhead skidded around the corner, sharp eyes focusing on Rok and Serrena... neither spaced, thank the maw, but...

By then it seem seeing someone rushing over kinda startled Sam a bit that she come to hide behind a nearby crate. That might have been blown over by the open airlock. And seem only later on when she came to see it to be Saede who spoke out.
"Oye! Air lock alert for this sector... you two ok?"
That slowly upon hear this she then comes out and curiously spoke.
"Air lock alert? In anycase it sounded more like some mad brawl when i passed by. "
Re: On the Fringes...(CFR Only)
“It seems to work very well!” Kady shouted to Curt over the roar of the reactor, “I think that I’m okay now, as far as understanding goes!” She ducked back into the corridor they had just deserted, so that she could hear herself think. “If you want to give yourself a heart attack, checking over more people’s work, this is the place I’d like to work.” She was feeling far more comfortable on the ship, and much of her old confidence had returned.
“Like I’ve probably said before, I pretty good with these,” she wiggled her fingers, “and this isn’t too shabby either, “she tapped her head. “I need only to be directed, fearless leader.” Yes, the fearless leader, fighting through a jungle of pipes and broken machinery. Everything sounded more noble in her head.
Re: On the Fringes...(CFR Only)
Following Kady back into the relative sanctuary of the old maintenance corridor, Curt let out a low chuckle as he heard the girl decide right there and then that she wanted to be an engineer. There was more about that one thing than you could learn in a lifetime, which had been but one of the many things that had drawn the Firrerreo to it as a child. Nevertheless she was keen, and he could do with another helper, if only to keep things holding together until he could set it all straight.
"Then welcome aboard!" Curt told Kady with a mischevious grin. "I'll let the First Mate know to make it official, but can get you started on something simple right away if you want. Just to try the water so to speak."
Flashing a wink at the girl, the man wandered back along to the rec-room and fished a data-book, a hydrospanner, and an odd looking component out of one of the lockers.
"This is a backup discharge motivator for one of power couplings that links to the main turbolasers, I've been meaning to get around to fixing it for a few days now. Everything you need to know to do this is in this data-pad," Curt told Kady, handing her the slim device, along with the other things. "If you need a hand holler, otherwise just do your thing. One of the best ways to learn these things is simply to do them until you get it right."
