Devorah/Sam

Ship Hangar Bay...

By then it seem just as Sam was casually walking along seemingly aimlessly onboard the ship. Seem to care nor minded where she was heading too as one solitary thought seem to fill her mind. As from the foreground she could swear Sam could head a voice slightly bold and distinct it seem to chill her to the core.

“Samantha Jade….judgment has come….there is no escape….the law will be done here…”

To which feeling her heart stop she turns with her hand instinctively reaching for her hidden blaster. As her eyes scan the horizon for the voice as her shaking hand seem barely able to keep hold of her weapon.

“…The hell it will ….that….i’ll let you….”

But then seeing nothing but an empty hall her mind races to find an answer as the last line seem to fade into a whisper. She then swallowed hard as she seem to feel sick to her stomach as memories of old flood her mind. She began to try clear her thought and calm herself within as she began to try keep reciting the sort of mantra in her mind.

‘…it’s just all in my head…it’s not real…it can’t be…I’ve seen it with my own eyes…dead man speak nor return..’

To which breathing in deep she somehow seem to regain her composure and wits about her. But then as she turned, something or better yet someone ram into her hard. And sent her being pushed back a bit as a slight trickle of blood from her lip flowed. Seem after having been cut a bit as a result of the impact as she did her best to not topple over. She in a fit of uncertainty and anger blurts out.

“What the Frell….hey watch where your going…..”

Seem still slightly dazed and confussed due to the initial impact.

Kady felt a bit of her old confidence returning as Curt responded with friendly warmpth, rather that the harsh reprimand that she'd been expecting. "Like I said, I followed Halik on board, because he promised to put in a good word for me with the Ferrets after I helped him with a job. That's where I got my blaster." She said, grinning and patting her side. "Halik gave me two conditions before he let me come- that I help on the job, and that I gave him his wallet back. Apparently, he doesn't like being outdone at her own game."

Everyone had gone stark raving mad.

Saede was utterly flabbergasted, and for a long moment even after Savin had disappeared in a... in a what? A fit or rage? A modicum of terrorized mando? A...

Something was *wrong* and Saede simply didn't know what it was. At the moment, the scope of events happening around her was lost on the pirate as anger over came everything else.

How *dare* he?

The anger that rose within the First Mate was all her own, the simple fury of a woman who had been insulted one too many times, and who had no intentions of taking that level of disrespect from a crew member.... and one whom she considered a *friend*. The anger was clear on her face as she stalked out of the hangar bay, so focused that she missed the events surrounding the Iron Ferrets.

She swept through the corridor in a barely contained rage that kept building with each step, hazel eyes flashing with a clear and present danger. Some of the crew would have recognized the look in Saede's eyes right now... and all would have scrambled to avoid the livid first mate.

Saede rounded the corner, not even pausing when she saw Savin and the other crew member just ahead of her. She stalked toward them, inserting herself between the crazed mando and the other man, her face inches from Savin's in that swift movement. While she was gentle with the othe crew member, sliding him back almost gently, none of her anger was spared for the Mando before him.

Rok moved to toss a crate onto the transport cart but half way through a sharp pain at the back of his neck caused him to drop it....

Clutching at his neck, Rok howled in pain as it felt like something was being injected into him....his eyes widened and grew bloodshot as some evil presence filled his soul. The pain stopped...but Rok wasn't in his own body anymore....something else was controlling the wookiee....something, evil.

"Open the Cargo Hatch...." Rok said to Serrena...knowing that the landing and exploration gear would be sucked out of the ship and into space....

"NRRRRAAAAAAAHHH!!!"

There was -no- warning. No shift in body language, no change in his, already, enraged demeanor save for the fact that his pupils had shrunk to pinpricks in his grey pools.

He shifted from manhandling the poor crewman to slinging the tall red-head across the hall in a single heartbeat, pouncing on her form with the full weight of his body the very second her back hit the wall, pinning her to it. The "Mando's" growl quickly melted into a rumbling purr as he pressed his large, tight body into her notably thinner frame.

This female was ready to mate. He could 'smell' it. He nuzzled his cheek against her's, drawing his tounge up the side of her cheek before his maw sharply drew down to capture the nape of her with a growl, sinking his teeth into her flesh, not to draw blood or otherwise harm her. No, this gesture had a far more carnal intent. He sought to mark her, to lay a fiery brand upon her. The beast sought to claim a mate

A flash of memory..an apartment on Coruscant. A white shirt, ripped at the shoulder. Coos of pleasure replaced by a scream of sheer ecstasy. Blue skin? No..Curly black hair? Red hair?

Savin's eyes snapped open as he pressed off the wall and off Saede with such force as to leave a chill where his heated form once was. He slammed into the other wall just as the bewildered crewman, stunned by the mercenary's actions, had just started across the hall to pull him off the CFR's first mate, finding himself in the middle of the corridor a day late and a doubloon short.

The warrior, on the other hand had yet to still come to understand why he was sinking his teeth in the neck of the CFR's first mate..and what he was doing in this hallway in the first place....

As the back of her head hit against the durasteel bulkhead of the Revenge, the only thing she could think was;

It's the arena all over again.

She saw stars for a moment, frozen in time and unable to react in the fraction of a second opening she would have had to avoid the coming onslaught.

The weight of his body and the strength of the movement knocked the breath out of her, between that and the knock on the head she could put up no more than a token struggle, her head swimming with pain and images.

"Scream for me."

They had tried every way to break her, and off all the slaves in the arena, Saede had lasted the longest against their fear tactics. Withholding food and water. Beatings. Awakened in the middle of the night once, twice, and again, each time just as she had drifted off again into already fitful dreams. The fighting. Put up against odds that ought to have kill her and yet each time she walked away, undefeated not only in the arena but in her own mind as well. The shock collar. And now....

"Scream for me."

She felt his teeth find a hold on her neck and was rocketed back into the present. And she did scream, but not a sound of fear.... rather one of primal rage.... one that cried out 'not again... NEVER again!'

And suddenly he was off of her, and she was scrambling up to use the wall as a crutch. His sudden movement and absense left her cold.... not merely the touch of her skin but something deeper within was chilled to the core. Wide hazel eyes stared at Savin from across the hall, one hand clutching her neck where he'd bitten down. No blood, but a mark would be left there for days to come. A tremor moved through her body, though whether it originated in fear or fury was unclear... perhaps in some ways it was both.

"Get the hell out of here," she said through gritted teeth at the crewman. He hesitated for a moment too long.

"GO!" She barked, not taking her eyes off of Savin.

The crewman beat a hasty retreat, leaving the two staring at eachother across a breach far larger than the mere width of the hall.

Her voice was steady, but there was an uncharateristic hardness to it. "I don't know what you think you are doing, or what makes you think you can simply act in this manner. If I were you, I would remove myself from sight and lock myself in my quarters before you get spaced. Do. You. Understand?"

The last three words were bitten out, Saede still keeping her distance from Savin.

~*If I were you, I would remove myself from sight and lock myself in my quarters before you get spaced. Do. You. Understand?*~

He didn't. He didn't understand what was going on anymore than she did. Why he felt so angry, aroused and -afraid- all at the same time. The larger animal in that hallway stood against the wall opposite of the female he tried to claim. But, -why-? What the Shab was going on??

Suddenly, he looked at her as if he had only -just- noticed her glare. His first impulse was to -attempt- to explain. To say -something-. -Anything-. But, that was not to be as another instinct decided to fill the D'xun-bred Mando's mind so suddenly that his perception shifted drastically.

:::Big...too big...home...Home! GO!::: The redhead almost seemed to grow a full three feet taller in his eyes. And his body language reflected this as he slid down the wall and looked up at her...with real -fear- in his eyes.

Fear. He...Savin of the clan Skirata--battle-tested warrior of the Mando'ade...bore real primal fear at the sight of her. It was as if he was looking at someone completely different.

As hands made contact with the floor, he would bare his teeth at her and hiss, his great, muscular frame tensing a moment before he....turned and -ran-. His massive body remained low as he sprinted down the hall, dropping to all fours and skittering around the corner as if he was meant to have more than just his four 'legs'.

Savin got a good ways down the hall before he suddenly remembered that he -isn't- a quadruped, spilling to the floor in a mess of limbs. He rolled to his feet a moment before throwing himself into a wall, clutching his uninjured skull with one hand. His chiseled body was covered in a thick sheen of sweat. His grey eyes carried an almost feral look about them as the warrior seemed on the verge of pain-induced insanity.

Few things could be closer to the truth, as he barely opened his door in time to tumble inside, leaving the portal unlocked.

Outside his door, any passers-by would hear a rage-laced scream emanate from within a few moments before the would hear, and -feel- an impossibly huge crash within the confines of the room, rocking the hall outside and the decks above and below it. It felt as though the warrior managed to hit a wall with a starship...or turbolaser fire.

This would be followed with a silence so complete that one would question if anyone was still alive within the dwelling....

Curt laughed out loud as Kady finished her story, the idea of Halik having his pocket picked by a teenage girl was highly amusing, and the mechanic was sure the man would never live that one down once the rest of the crew heard.

"You stole Halik's wallet?" Curt asked with a low whistle, obviously impressed, "that's no mean feat, you must be pretty good."

As the two pirating trainee's reached engineering Curt paused, turning to the girl and leaning against the door frame with a wincing half grin.

"It's pretty grotty in here most of the time, you sure you wanna come in?"

“Please,” Kady said, drawing her hair back, “Give me some credit. I lived on Tatooine for seventeen years--I’m half dirt already.” She made a face, “Though grease is something new to me.”

She quickly braided her hair and rolled back her sleeves in a gesture of readiness for whatever work was to come. “Let’s see if I have any talents besides taking what doesn’t belong to me.”

Axl popped his head up when he heard the Charric fire. " what the?" He began to walk toward Nates Defender as his hand slipped around to brace his DL-44. Halfway across the bay Axl heard Savin shouting in a rage, then came Saede's exasperated shouts. Axl turned and ran toward the Mongoose, he rounded the last defender to see the heavy set Mando storming off. Poking his head inside he could see a somewhat ruffled Saede Taggart standing against the wall. " You ok Saede, what the hell happened you look like you've been in a tussle?" Nate firing his weapon in the hangar, Savin screaming viscious garble and Saede looking like she had gone ten rounds with a rabid wookiee, this wasn't normal.

Saede breathed in deeply, glancing at Axl. She probably did look a mess, and it took a heartbeat to compose herself before she was able to answer.

"I'm alright Axl... but thanks. I think tension are running high..." She wanted to say, I think the Captain chose a poor time for a secret mission, but kept that to herself. She made a conscious effort never to speak poorly of the Captain in front of the rest of the crew, never to be critial of his choices in public. She saved her reservations for private, when the two could discuss it... she would never undermine him.

She raised her hand, palming her neck lightly. It came away blood-free, but she couldn't see the bite mark already rising in deep relief bruises on the pale skin of her neck.

"I need to find the Captain... can you find out why Nathaniel is running weapons test *in* the hangar bay?" She managed a watery, but unconvinving, smile before heading out.

It would be a few minutes before she reached the bridge, and each heartbeat of those minutes was spent replaying what had just happened in her mind. Her neck ached, her head hurt where it had been slammed into the wall... and it was a slightly distracted woman who finally made it to the bridge.

"First Mate on Bridge!" called out one of the junior crew members.

"Saede!" Marcus said, wobbling from his chair.

The planet of their destination could be seen from the enormous floor to ceiling windows of the bridge. Its surface an eerie green and red, composed of lush forests and desert alike. Finally he might disclose something of the nature of the mission to Saede.

"Saede?" he asked again, resting a hand on his cutlass.

She managed a grin at him, but it was obvious that the woman was still troubled... that and the enormous bite shaped bruise on her neck....

Opening her mouth to say something, she paused, looking past him out the window for a moment. "Well, I wouldn't want to *live* here, but a summer home maybe."

Hazel eyes flicked back to Marcus, and she shrugged. "So, what did we come all the way out here for... and where exactly is *here*?"

Curt admired Kady's gumption, he just hoped the girl knew what she was getting herself in for... engine room conditions were testing at the best of times, and the Revenge's was worse than most.

"Well follow me then," the mechanic answered his new found friend with a resigned shrug, casually pushing himself up off of the door frame in one smooth movement, and tapping an access code into a keypad besides the door. Coincidentally it was only 2 -3 -7, or C - F - R, apparently the Captain wasn't too fussed about who risked their necks fiddling about inside engineering.

The room itself was just a rec-area for the mechanics, with tools, parts, and few things Gharill had left for later scattered all over the place, the actual workings of the ship lay deeper inside. There was a table and a few chairs against one wall, a few lockers down those either side, and in front of a plexiglass window looking out over the fusion reactor sat a wide console, covered in flashing lights and spitting sparks in random directions at odd intervals.

Sliding into the chair by the diagnostic panel, Curt checked over the systems log and brought up the efficiency output for the fusion reactor. "Barely holding together as per normal..." the Firrerreo muttered to himself, half amazed, half irritated, "it's amazing this old girl flies at all!" Spinning about on his chair so that he was facing Kady as he finished his sentance, Curt leant back in his seat, grinning at the girl daringly. "So what do you wanna do? This is as close as I get to a post, and just about everything around here needs fixing so... is there anything particular you'd like me to show you?"

"Well," Kady considered the question. She absolutely nothing about being in an engine room, but she figured most of the things that needed were like a puzzle. Puzzles she understood, and she was pretty good with her hands. "Show me what makes this place run- the main power behind this contraption. Then give me something to fix, and I'll eventually figure out what to do with it."

New Post Re: On the Fringes...(CFR Only)
Alema heard footsteps down the hallway, and ducked out of sight. The first mate strode past toward the bridge, Alema found herself suddenly worried she might be forced to return to her station.

Your station is boring. There's nothing going on there, and nobody even notices you. Let's go do something fun.

Fun... what? Come on. There are a million things on this ship that you've always wanted to do, and you never ever do anything but sit on the bridge and cook for the others like you're their mother. Do you really want them seeing you like that?

Alema had... never minded before. She kind of enjoyed taking care of the others. If she weren't occasionally hanging around the kitchen and mess hall, some of her friends might never eat at all. Savin might spend an entire evening rubbing down weapons instead of--

Of you?

She jolted, horrified. That was random. She'd decided weeks ago that nothing could come of it. No matter what she felt about him or how much she hated holding herself back, it would be the most terrible mistake she'd made in years if she--

What? Had a little fun? Loosen the f@#$ up for once? What are you afraid of, that he'll tell you no? Well... that wasn't true... No, you're afraid that you'll like it. You're afraid you won't be able to be the ship's resident frigid little princess, always so aloof and in control. What do you really gain by that?

It was safer. Alema could do without romance, and she could certainly do without the sort of unrequited infatuation that would most assuredly develop if she gave her feelings for Savin any leeway at all. They'd both suffer for it, and it would be her fault because she could have stopped it.

So you are afraid you'll like it. Fine. Sit here, alone. Go find a dark corner and wait there until somebody wants you enough to come find you. See how long it takes. I don't intend to wait around for you anymore.

The injustice of that shocked her. It was... it was true that Alema was tired of being alone, and she'd long been weary of keeping herself that way for her own safety. But why this sudden bitterness over it? Until now it had always seemed like the right choice. Until now it hadn't mattered what could have been, what might still be possible. All that mattered was staying in control.

And you think we can't control him?

That thought gave her pause. Of course she probably could. She had as much training in controlling men as Savin had killing them. Some cruel and cynical part of her had always felt that if she really wanted to con him into heeling like a good boy, she could probably manage it. But she didn't want to get him that way. She didn't want to look into his eyes and know that he didn't understand, that he was only by her side because she'd trapped him. She had an unfair advantage, an advantage that he had no reason to expect or prepare for.

Why should you let him prepare for it? He's got advantages, too. He's been using them, and he wouldn't resent you for playing on his level. He's been trying to get you into the game for weeks now, 'lema. Would it really be so terrible to play along? As long as he thinks he's getting what he wants, he won't ever know the difference.

That she couldn't deny, either. Almost as long as she'd known him, Savin had shown an unashamed interest in her. She'd been turning him away and shooting him down because she'd known he wasn't ready to give her what she needed.

Then take it. You'll never get what you need from him if you don't go for it.

But...

If you need to be in control so badly, don't trust him to give you anything.

...maybe...

Just...

...I mean, I guess I can handle--

Take it.

She wasn't sure when she'd made the trip over to the barracks area. Should have been a long walk but somehow it didn't feel like it. Her feet seemed to find their own way down the halls, and with a purpose she'd been denying for as long as she'd known her Mandalorian friend. Trailing her fingers along the wall above her shoulder, her fingertips found the edge of his door before she was close enough to see inside.

His door was open. In a sudden surge of anger Alema swore if Savin had another woman in there she'd kill the little slut, whoever she was. She had no right to be here.

He's mine.

Pulling a mask of innocent concern over her features, she stepped forward to peer around the edge of his doorframe. "Savin? You in here, hon?"

"Right then!" Curt exclaimed energetically, once again spinning around his chair so that he was now facing the door on the opposite side of the room, before jumping up and punching in another access code. "Let's go..." As the Firrerreo trailed off he gestured towards the door with one of his golden arms, signalling for the Kady to go first, but as the rust covered door slid open it jammed with a clank just short of the edge of the door frame, somewhat ruining the effect.

Sighing, the mechanic kicked the door hard in the bottom right corner. There was a rolling noise, followed by a clunk as something dropped into place, and the durasteel sheet slid open without a hitch. "It's amazing what a little push in the right direction can do," Curt told Kady with a wink, offering his arm to the girl before they continued. "Shall we?"

There was nary a sound but the one's she made as the blue 'comms officer' rounded the corner of his door frame. The room was completely dark, save for the light that poured in from the hallway and the occasional flicker of the, now, malfunctioning light on the ceiling.

In the beam the outside illumination created sat the D'xun-born Mando'ad, the strong, skilled, prideful, fearless, killing machine that the crew had come to know and trust as Savin...trembling.

The Mando'ad sat in the far corner of the room...staring silently at the other side. His knees where pulled up to his chest, held there by his powerful arms as his grey eyes just -stared- at the other side of the room.

In the flickers of the malfunctioning room light, she would come to notice that he was the -only- thing on that side of the room. Upon closer inspection, they would come to find that the contents of the room...the -entire- contents of the room...had been forcefully shifted to the far wall. The gouges in the wall and the trails left on the floor suggest these objects where moved...rather forcefully.

~*Savin? You in here, hon?*~

"I..iii didn't do it...it wasn't me.."

His voice was not -at all- the forceful, rumbling tone that they would recognize. He almost seemed..meek? But, his -eyes-. The wild gaze that dove deeply into their soft brown orbs in an attempt to take hold of her very soul. They carried in them an almost feral passion that was -very- much like the jungle cat that Mando'ad had been compared to by some of his farer companions.

Something queer was going on in Bunk-227...

This wasn't something Alema had ever seen before, and it was... it was so jarring that for a moment she broke free of her own ambitions and desires to wonder what could possibly be wrong. More than that... she always counted on Savin to be strong, collected, confident. It broke her heart to see him like this but even then, the emotion didn't last for long before the heartless predator in the back of her own mind made her cold appraisal of the situation.

Look at him. Poor thing. He's shaking. Go.

She shouldn't, though. Right now he needed support, and whatever was going on she--

Support? Isn't that what you came to do? Offer the poor man a little comfort. This was wrong. It was... it was wrong, wasn't it? Was she really considering doing this? Well, think about it. If you were sitting somewhere by yourself, obviously upset about something and needing a little companionship... do you think he'd hesitate to step in?

She didn't want to think of him as being that opportunistic, but then again... could she really say that he wouldn't? And given that...

Play by the rules of the game, 'lema. Right now you've got him at a serious disadvantage, and that goes double for any of those other little girls chasing after him. You're here and they're not. If you make it memorable, he'll think of you when something is wrong. Come to depend on you. Then it won't matter what any of the others can do for him.

It wouldn't matter anyway, and Alema knew it. She was warming up to this idea. She could completely destroy any preconceived notions he had about her once she got him on his back, and he would learn that his little Serrena was not the only professional on this ship. But after that... after that she would be the one who understood. Who was there for him. Alema would be the woman he ran to, and then he would be hers.

Then it wouldn't matter what any other woman did. It took all her resolve to hold back a cruel smile. She'd won already. All she had to do was hold on to the advantage she'd been given. The weapon she'd found.

Resolved and set on her course, Alema took a couple of slow and measured steps into Savin's room. Her eyes filled with concern and compassion, she crouched on one knee in front of him. There was something else there, still. Something of that Savin she'd come looking for, and she'd have him out before too long.

She reached out one hand and curled her fingers, beckoning him closer. "Savin... Savin, come here. Tell me what's wrong."

Savin couldn't explain why he was able to see everything in the room, even in the flickering darkness that the space was bathed in. He couldn't begin to tell you why he already knew Alema was coming around the corner before he saw her. All he knew for certain was that there was a blue-skinned female coming near him. Her approach elicited a low growl from the large Mando.

~*Savin...*~

He was not certain why he felt so afraid around her. He knew her well. She was always nice to this one. This one remembers. This was Alema. Alem'ika. Blue.

~*Savin, come here*~

"Co-..Cobalt?" The large man seemed almost like a child as he slowly unfurled his muscular arms to crouch before her on all fours, lowering his head to look up at her with a smoldering glance that could have one wonder who was stalking whom. He padded towards her, carefully lowering his head to the floor as he approached. Never once did his grey gaze leave her curvaceous form as he made his way to her side, ensuring he had an escape route by having the door at his back.

~*Tell me what's wrong*~

"The things...the things moved..I didn't do it..."
He lowered his head a bit almost like a child that was being corrected or a scolded puppy. One could almost imagine the Mando's, still shirtless, form sporting a pair of drooping dog ears.

"And..Saede's mad at me...I didn't mean to...Am I in trouble, Blue..?" Savin seemed like a shadow of the imposing man that usually stalked the halls of the CFR. Suddenly, his eyes..-changed-. The subbmisive look remained..only it was 'different' Less one of a person afraid of punishment...but one that -wanted- it. Needed it.

"...Are you going to punish this one, Miss Cobalt?~" Said he, his rumbling accent devolved into a purr as he slowly padded toward her with the grace of a tigress on the prowl...

The vision of Nathaniel's father was undeterred by the high-powered energy blasts the teen had fired into the spectre. He continued forward, red eyes glowing, his blue skin dark and contorted with menace.

"Worthless, Na'thaniel'oruodo... In everything. With everyone. Absolutely. Worthless. You should've died in the womb. You should've died with your mother whom you killed."

He trembled with rage and horror at hearing that again. Nathaniel had grown up believing that he'd been responsible for his mother's death. She had died hours after he'd been born after all. Serrena had struggled to tell him the truth of his birth, how their father had denied medical attention or even the Chiss equivalent of a mid-wife at the home... how young Serrena had done her best to deliver baby Nathaniel... and how their mother had died.

Still.

"No. No! It wasn't me! Serrena said it wasn't my fault! I... I believe her! NO!"

Holstering the Charric, Nathaniel launched himself at the illusion of his father, intent on destroying him with his bare hands if he had to... if only to make him shut up.

Marcus grabbed Saede by the shoulder, pulling her to the windows. Giving the crew members a wild, cockeyed stare until they left, he bared his gold capped teeth. Eventually realizing their mortal peril, the peons scurried off to busy themselves with landing coordinates. Turning hesitantly toward his first mate, the captain's mustache twitched in uncertainty.

"Being that we be a crew of beings being pirates, we be risking our lives upon every venture we be on." Marcus said very quickly, pausing for a moment as he strove to understand his own words, "The Jedi's glowsticks can't be touching me crew--they danced us a demonstration earlier, as you probably recall, yes? The empire--far from the former light that it once had--be havin' enough trouble stopping smugglers let alone pirates. We have taken the Revenge to places and beyond where the Law simply can't touch us!"

A feverish light sparkled in the captain's eyes--that famous look which preceeded an act of brilliance or madness. However, anyone could tell he hadn't had rum or smoked all day. Something still had the man on edge.

"The only enemy tha's got us in sights is Death himself." He paused, saying the words that were all too obvious now, "I've found the cure to growing older."

The words sent a shutter down his spine. He felt scared to utter them, feeling as if the simple spoken word could cause it to flee.

"It's a Sithly thing, if I'm right."

Marcus was nearly always right.

The Darkside granted many gifts with each sacrifice it took. Remy had given his life, his soul, and the souls of his enemies to the Dark mysterious Force that penetrated his being. In return, he had become master of powers beyond imagining.

Lost in meditation, the Sith master's mind roamed free across the stars. He had few responsibilities outside his own projects. One, however, took up a bit of time. The sudden mobilization of a great legion of Force spirits caused Remy to "check in" with his charges.

A green and red planet loomed into view within his mind's eye. Then an unexpected flurry of images wrenched themselves into Remy's head.

There was little time left. The master would have to take the fastest and yet the most painful means possible of getting there. Brutalizing the Laws of Physics and bending Space-Time was like putting a molten spike through one's tongue.

"Sithy," Saede replied flatly.

Oh yes, something was very, very wrong. Between Marcus, Savin, Nathaniel and now news of Sithly doings, Saede was starting to realize that something far bigger than a shortened shore leave was at work, though the scope was as yet beyond her logic processes.

Marcus still hadn't removed his hand from around her shoulder, though she'd tried to shift at first to take herself out of arms reach.

"Marucs, are you sure this is a good idea? Stuff to do with Force users often isn't worth mucking with... you know that."

Marcus squeezed Saede's shoulder tightly and for a moment, both of his eyes flashed violet. Or was it a trick of the light?

"Immortality, by the Maw!" he almost roared, a droplet of sweat running down his temple, "And more, if ye can concept it."

Though he never took sacrifices lightly, this was a goal and a treasure he was undoubtably willing to risk his life and the lives of his crew on. Oddly enough, though, his voice sounded vaguely different.

"I can't be kept."
