Not taking it Anymore (Takeover TJC/TSC)
Finally the Jedi Had it. With all of the attacks, the jedi couldn't remain ignorant of the fact that their Humble home of Naboo was an open door to anyone who felt like attacking. They needed to put a stop to it.
What Naboo needed was a system that would close the door to these incursions. It wasn't impossible: when one considered how much was spent now on patrolling and fuel trying to keep the Sith out, what he had in mind was positively cheap. There would be four layers of defense:
1) An outer set of monitoring satellites that would 'listen' for the energy signature of a ship dropping out of hyperspace. A ship entering a system was such an event that in order not to be noticed, the Sith would have to spend a month in normal space to be far enough away to avoid detection.
Get a burst but can't find the ship? Sith Coming!
2) Orbiting gravitic sensors. Any mass passing through the grid would be detected. Known traffic would be logged, or sensors could just scan any blips.
Just like the hyperspace scanners: no ship? SITH!
3) Heat signature sensors. Ships entering an atmosphere still generate heat, even with shields. Meteorites would be a problem, but nothing that couldn't be dealt with.
Scan each heat signature. Can't find a ship? SITH!
4) Sonic listening towers periodically spaced monitoring for the sound of a ship coming in to land. Electronic counter-measures might be able to fool scanners, but they can't stop physics.
Sound but no ship? We know the answer.
They would call it
Naboo Emergency Warning System
Or NEWS for short.
KORRIBAN
Steanaler reflected on this as he stood in front of the view window. With NEWS fully up and running the Jedi had decided to take the offensive. It was time to show the sith that the Jedi would not be pushed around.
Steanaler smiled as he looked down onto the planet below. Korriban, the sith home world. The Jedi Fleet had just come out of hyperspace, ready for combat. Steanaler was sure the sith would be picking their jaws off the floor right about now.
" Commander Steanaler, the landing party will be ready in t-minus 5 minutes."
Steanaler didn't even turn around to face his Captain. He just kept staring at the planet below.
" Very good Captain. When they are ready, don't wait for my signal. Just send them on their way."
The Captain bowed to Stean and walked away. The Time of Vindication was at hand.
Re: Not taking it Anymore (Takeover TJC/TSC)Sith Temple
Coruscant
The whisper of an idle threat had been long brewing in the mind of the Prophet Adrasteia. Ever since the takeover of the former Jedi Temple, she had felt it. An unknown threat that she had devoted long hours to meditating on. The problem was, her visions had been clouded, she had originally percieved the threat to be from one of their own. A Sith with the intent to overthrow the present Council and set themselves on high as ruler and create a new era of Darkness.
The hour was already late when, with sudden clarity it all became clear to her. Her feelings, precursors of an impending struggle had begun the night the Sith had desecrated the Jedi Temple, claiming it for their own purposes. She had underestimated the Jedi, thinking them the sort to be more concerned with preserving life than putting themselves directly into the path of Death, which is what they were doing. It seemed that their age old foes fancied themselves on a crusade to repay like for like..
It was foolish and would be met with failure.
With a smile, Adrasteia began the process of reporting her visions first to Master Fenris, as she was inclined to do. Followed immediately by the Governor of Coruscant, and then to the Council at Korriban. Let the Jedi come..
Re: Not taking it Anymore (Takeover TJC/TSC)"Sir, there appears to be an unidentified craft on our radar..."
The Coruscanti Sith's head tilted up, icy-blue eyes regarding the soldier critically. That was of little surprise to him, he had already sensed a boarding party on the edge of hyperspace before all the competency of the academy's orbital defence tools had been capable. While various proximity alarms and whistles whirred and flashed around him to denote a foreign and possibly hostile craft approaching the planet in regular space, the Knight, privately, had already considered the possible forms of rebuttal. He smirked in his mind; a missile seemed most suitable...
"Yes, I know," came the terse reply, those smooth, Coruscanti tones laden with acute annoyance at the captain's stating what was obvious to him.
"Then what are your order, sir?"
He paused for a moment, savoring the delicious thought of the Jedi craft reduced to rubble as it landed on their sandy grounds along with a smattering of their cold, bloody bodies. Oh yes, it was a sumptuous time to be alive...
"Focus the lasers and missiles on our hostile friends. I expect they've been long anticipating a greeting."
The soldier bowed and left him to carry out his orders, leaving the Sith to his musings. This was a very odd and rather stupid move for the Jedi. There had been no indications of a large fleet accompanying the two or three odd crafts holding a party that foolishly did not anticipate hostile activity before touching down to the surface. And if indeed a fleet did present themselves, oh well! - that was what the TIE Phantoms already covertly overseeing activity above the planet were for...

Re: Not taking it Anymore (Takeover TJC/TSC)Sith Temple
Korriban
Cold blue eyes flickered open. Something... something at the back of his mind had wrested Lord Fenris's concentration away from his studies. Barely a moment passed before a shrill beeping broke the silence of his meditation chamber. The communication panel that lay at the rooms entrance was flashing, indicating the arrival of a message. It was a communique from the Core Worlds. Razielle had taken to spending time on Coruscant, in the now desecrated halls of the Jedi Temple, as she had found them particularly conductive when it came to inspiring visions. It was these very revelations that had caused her to contact him.
War was upon them.
His sabers came to hand with a gesture of the Force, and within moments the Sith Master was stalking out into the halls of the black temple. His mind reached outwards, to any and all who were withing distance. His thoughts invaded their own, as he called upon each and every able man and woman present to rally to the temples central chamber, which had once served as the war room to the Councils of old. As he moved through the darkened halls, apprentices and knights alike began to emerge from their domiciles. Others, disturbed mid-spar, appeared with their sabers already in hand, a sheen of sweat upon their brows and anger flashing in their eyes.

Re: Not taking it Anymore (Takeover TJC/TSC)
Terace hadn't given much consideration to the mental demands of Master Derveld; he knew his place was here, in the observation tower, overseeing the incompetent soldiers to make sure they did not make a mess of things with their fleet. Considering that one of them had already attempted to act out of protocol and against orders, the Knight was not about to abandon his position. Instead, he beckoned a pit officer over to the desk he currently occupied.
Master Derveld would simply have to make due with the Sith's holographic presence at the reckoning in the central chamber. "Set up a holographic transmission to the central chamber in the temple level."
Obediently the officer complied, tinkering with a few switches on the desk. Finally the top half receded to reveal a projecting tool that shone a blue light on his person. According to the red light above it, the device had successfully transmitted his image to one of the council chairs.

Maleficus appeared through one of the doors and moved quickly into the rapidly filling room. He spoke to Terace's hologram, speaking to the control room, "use our planetary defences to steer landing craft towards the Valley, we can squeeze any marching army through there and let any spirits and creatures help our cause."
Re: Not taking it Anymore (Takeover TJC/TSC)
Terace nodded at Maleficus' holographic form on the projection plate atop his desk, compliant to his demand. That seemed a sound plan; the beasts and spirits of Korriban were ferocious in nature and quite lethal to those which did not belong to them. Given that the Jedi were not of the proper alignment, they were fair game to the lost souls of the Sith Lords.
"I have already instructed the fleet to press minimal firepower against the Jedi, for the moment," the tall, human Sith responded. "That should at least persuade some of their ships to the ground..."
He spared a glance from the plate and looked over to the viewing screen above him that displayed the numerous list of Phantoms. He had specifically instructed that those stealthily generated crafts were not to engage the enemy until the situation called for it. If anything, to him, they would be able to wipe out the back flank as well as distract whilst the Jedi tried to figure out the identity and location of the assilants that were already with them. Perhaps, though, the masters had different ideas.
"I have the TIE Phantoms stalling out from behind, Lord Maleficus. Do you have any instructions for them?"

The knife blade sunk into the flesh of Steph Hinata with ease, cutting in and prying out the flesh on her arm. She wasn't just madly stabbing chunks out of herself but she was carving dark marks into her arm. Of course she already had The Dark Sith Order's Dark Mark from her time being there as a Sith but there was no harm in getting more, well there was but she was almost used to feeling pain.
Steph was sat cross legged in her own chambers on the Sith temple in Korriban simply passing the time and making a bloody mess at the same time. Her face twitched with an ounce of annoyance as her mind was invaded by Master Derveld but nonetheless there seemed to be an issue at hand, being called to the central chamber of the temple never meant good news.
She slipped the crimson soaked blade into the knife sheath she had on her belt along with her single bladed lightsaber, although she might not of required it Steph grabbed her sledgehammer and left her chambers a long with other apprentices and knights. It wasn't uncommon to see Steph with a large amount of weapons on her at all times, she never did want to miss an opportunity to bludgeon someone.
Entering the chamber and making a trail of blood from her arm, she gave a quick nod to Master Derveld and leaned up against the wall.

Fenris listened with pleasure as the holographic image of the Sith Knight explained the planetary defenses in effect. The Jedi were fools to think that they could simply drop out of hyperspace and attack Korriban unawares. Paranoid and suspicious, the Sith were ever on-guard against potential threats.
“The aerial assault will no doubt be prelude to a ground attack. We should divide ourselves now and prepare to defend.”
Re: Not taking it Anymore (Takeover TJC/TSC)
Domovoi stood on the balcony, gazing out over Byss as the great light source descended below the horizon. Almost like clockwork, the many tiny lights turned on within the city, including those within the estate.
“Lord Monnik, Lord Monnik,” a voice crackled through the transmitter behind him. Lord Monnik turned from his place on the estate’s balcony to answer the call. He took the transmitter from one lounge table and it spoke again, calling out to him from his hand: “Lord Monnik, come in, Lord Monnik.”
“Lord Monnik,” he answered, voice soft yet overpowering at the same time.
“My lord, intelligence has it that the Jedi are to mount an assault on Korriban,” the radioman answered quickly. “Darth Adrasteia has predicted the attack, my lord.”
“Very well,” Monnik said and ended the transmission.
The Force is to be used for defence and not for attack, Domovoi mused with a cruel and sardonic smile, reclining on the lounge and tossing the transmitter aside. He stretched his arms and sunk into the softness of the sofa. Reaching out with a trick of The Force, Domovoi beckoned his love to him so he could share the report.
While Sophie moved from another part of the manor, Domovoi leant forward to set up a holographic feed of the Council Chambers on Korriban. A spherical transmitter rose from the mechanism on the lounge table before him and the room dimmed to near-pitch before being filled with the holographic forms of all those present in the temple. A holographic image of Darth Monnik would appear to them as well, listening in on the conference.
“When they’re sent, scattered and fleeing, from the surface, they’ll be intercepted by reinforcements from Byss. We’ll crush them when they try to retreat,” he interjected, his voice picked up by the microphone on the table in front of his physical form, and amplified into the Council Chamber.

Steanaler watched from From the command center of the Mc-80 as the landing craft proceeded planet side. The planetary defense systems had already begun to fire on the Cruisers. This did not frighten Stean, yet.
The ships had plenty of shields, they would last long enough to get into faze two of the plan.
But right now was the tricky part, Getting the landing craft planet side. There wasn't an exact way to determine were the ships would land. And planets are fairly large. In order for the trick to work, the ships had to land unload then come back. Not very easy on a hostile planet
" Captain, begin bombardment of the Planetary defenses. We have to give those ships cover."
"Yes sir. Beginning bombardment."
Stean watched as the blue lasers streaked from the Cruisers and the Capital ships. The squadrons would be realized momentarily. Then the fun would begin. Stean's mind went to the Jedi aboard the Landing craft. Force help them all
Re: Not taking it Anymore (Takeover TJC/TSC)
Fidelis stood in the chamber with his usual precombat cigarette in his teeth. He watched as the others came in and that the man girl was bleeding. But she had a big beating stick with her.
Fidelis stepped forward. " Most of my troops and ships are on Ziost or being put to use on Kashyyk. I have two ETA-2 interceptors here, i can give someone the keys to one of them. My ground troops are only around 100 here, i will entrench them with the rest of the soldiers here, here and here. ".
Re: Not taking it Anymore (Takeover TJC/TSC)"They've open fired on the planet, sir."
The human Sith smirked, sinking back into his chair, smug as a fox as he listened to the soldier's muffled, tinny voice. Their fire power wouldn't cause much damage to anything but the unfortunate caves and surrounding villages the order hadn't wasted their efforts on protecting. Unbeknown to the Jedi, various shield generators had been installed to protect both the academy, the Valley; along with the troops that would establish themselves on all those borders or wherever an attack would most likely commence. Korriban was indeed well protected...
Terace turned to the comm beside him, opening a communications link to their flagships and SSDs along with his own Executor-class Star Dreadnought, Exactor, which was already on the attack according to his instructions previously. Aside from the heavy firepower of that well-armed battle station, the Jedi fleet was otherwise not engaged.
"Captain, inform all Star Destroyers and SSDs to begin assault on the enemy fleet. We cannot let them continue to bombard the planet. You may fire at will."
Aside from the few Star Destroyers and their various counterpart classes, a number of TIE-fighter class ships were already being deployed from their hangers. The space battle had begun...

Re: Not taking it Anymore (Takeover TJC/TSC)"Get some of your forces on Zoist into space, we might need them later."
"I'll get out to the valley and start some preparation, contact me on my comm."
Maleficus darted from the room and ran as quickly as he could from the temple and down into the valley. The dark creatures roared and screeched at his presence, they were huge, warped things, living in this valley, the darkest place on the planet, had changed them. He stopped in the middle of the valley, sand covered statues lying on their sides, ruined pillars stretching up into the sky, the ruins of a great empire all around him. Those who did not know any better would think that the creatures that had lived here were dead and gone.
He stood still, looking around him for a moment, he was somewhat nervous, dealing with these spirits was a dangerous matter. He closed his eyes and brought up his images of pain, suffering, hatred and rage, his dark energy burnt within him and after a while of focusing it, he let it out. "Dark Spirits, Lords, Masters, Ghosts and Ghouls! The time has come again!" His voice boomed, fueled by the force, vibrating through the hidden temples, tombs and catacombs. "The Jedi come once more, attempting feebly to fight back against our dark slaughter! They dare, in their infinite stupidity, to come to this place, this holy land! They dare set foot upon our sacred ground!"
The dust swirled around his feet and he could feel whispers moving around him.
"Dark Lords, I call on you to aid us in crushing the Jedi!"
A cold wind swept through the valley and clouds swirled overhead. A chill ran down his body as the dust lifted, growing up out of the ground to sweep around the small humanoid form of the ghost. Sand whipped around this invisible being as it moved forward. Other small ghosts began to form, lifting out of the ground and whispering, expressing their support. He smiled and was glad of their presense, even if they were only small spirits, they would help. He respected the darker Lords choice to remain silent, he was glad that they deemed the current generations powerful enough to tackle this threat alone.

The launch alarms blared in the hangar bays. Dozens of squadrons awaited the order from the bridge, and finally it came: Engage! Docking hooks sprang open, and flight after flight of Delta and Eta fighters swarmed out from the Jedi vessels. In the thick of them, Metran set about blasting parimeter defenses. They knew going in that Korriban would be a tough nut to crack, but they had no choice. The Sith were too bold and too bloodthirsty to allow them to remain unpunished.
Metran began to smile as TIE fighters began their deployment. While he knew that they would be the simple part, there wasn't anything quite like a straightforward turkey shoot. Those who served evil so willingly had to be pushed aside - it was simple as that. They would learn how little their masters thought of them, strapping them in those shieldless heaps. Jedi cannons opened up and began to burn them out of the sky.
Met' didn't lose himself in the battle, though. He needed to keep his eyes open for other ships - fighters more dangerous than the basic TIE/In ships they were engaging. He also had to remember that his ultimate targets weren't the fighters, but the planetary defenses that Korriban hid behind. They needed to burn a hole through so his fellows could land, then the Sith would know what retribution meant.

Cale answered his master's call quickly; he knew something was amiss, and, even without a true lightsaber, Cale had his power over the Force. He prided himself on his power over it; much higher than most apprentices. He was soon standing in the hall; he saw his master but did not go to stand next to him. Neither of the men seemed to follow the acts of showing respect to another that highly. Cale looked around the room as the people gathered and listened to the talking of them all; plans being made in retaliation, and ones for the failure of those.
Cale was amazed at the mental aptitude; these were true Sith, not the ones who killed for enjoyment only. Being a Sith meant freedom, cunning, intelligence; not the need for blood spilling.

Re: Not taking it Anymore (Takeover TJC/TSC)Outside the Temple- The Korriban Dunes
Some distance away from the Sith Temple on Korriban, a lone figure, looking like naught much than a standing cone of darkness, or even a shadow of the imposing sand dunes of the dead, yet living planet. Darkness teemed about the surface, the core, and even the atmosphere of the planet like it had been a part of the original material that formed the planet out of the cosmic dust that formed the rest of the galaxy, and in the midst of this, the shadow moved back, revealing a single, youth-imbibed head that glared up at the sky.
Peiori Caligga, discarding the hood of his Defel-skinned cloak, looked upon the plumes of energy that bounced off of the planetary shield. No doubt now, the en mass movement of life forms he had felt earlier was an invasion force of some kind, Jedi by the feel of it. Instantly, the master's eyes flashed the trademark red for blood and battle, as his entrire form seemed to brighten. He had long wondered when the Jedi would attack Korriban again, as the last time they had made such a venture, he had only been a Sith apprentice. Now, fully swathed in the power of the Dark side of the Force, he knew that the coming Jedi would not be able to move as fluidly as he.
No indeed, for the planet of Korriban was dangerous for a good majority of the Jedi. Being so immersed in the darkness of so many dead and living Sith, for thousands of years, had caused the planet to only feel even the slightest touch of the lightside; lesser Jedi would find themselves cut off from its relief, while masters and experienced knights could prevail, but only with initial effort. Peiori began to chuckle, but soon quieted and waited for their enemies to proceed. They alone would predict how this battle would progress....
But blood would most definitely be spilled on the sands of Korriban this day.
Re: Not taking it Anymore (Takeover TJC/TSC)Sith Temple
Council Chambers
Adrasteia had remained in contact with her Brethren. It had been agreed upon that she would remain on Coruscant, far seeing and reporting her visions to the Council. It was crucial that she remain in deep meditation, observing the Jedi and their movements from afar. If it had not been for the rigorous demands made on her lately by Master Fenris, she doubted that she would have had the stamina to remain in touch with the assault this way. He had pushed her past the limits so often lately that her mind was trained and in perfect form to answer the call of the Sith.
She sat now in the Council chambers, deep in meditation.. She could not help but feel that the attack was strangely uncharacteristic of the Jedi. For ones so determined to avoid emotion in favor of serenity they were behaving curiously aggressive. She understood. It was all too easy to abandon ones doctrines and beliefs when one had been pushed too far. They were after all simple biological matter. Action. Reaction.. No matter what pretty words of peace they preached the cold and simple truth was, they were retaliating in anger for the desecration of their beloved Temple. They, the Oh-so-riteous Jedi were attacking first, with the intent to kill them all.
In the name of peace, of course..
A cold smile drifted over her features. How very interesting.
Her violet eyes fluttered open. She spoke to the Council at large, those present in the flesh and those represented by holographic images from Byss and Korriban herself..
"They move to attack the planetary defenses. A landing party is readied and prepared to move if a weakness in the defenses can be found."
From the Korriban representatives, she felt the presence of the spirits of the Sith arising. If the defenses were weakened and a party did land, they would have more than just the Sith to deal with. The very flora and fauna of Korriban, to say nothing of the specters of long dead Sith had all rallied at the chance to decimate the pitiful advances of altruistic fools..

At almost the same time Monnik received the startling news from Sith intelligence, Sophie’s comm. rang with a similar message. Korriban was under attack. The Jedi had finally summoned enough collective foolishness to launch an assault... how refreshing... Sophie thought after disengaging the device in her hand. When she felt her beloved’s summons, she was already on her way to the Byssian estate’s western wing.
... When they’re sent, scattered and fleeing, from the surface, they’ll be intercepted by reinforcements from Byss. We’ll crush them when they try to retreat...
Domovoi’s cool voice rang through the dim holo-chambers. The Sith Nation’s might was spread throughout several planets. Holographic assemblies were necessary to coordinate efforts between the worlds.
“Well said, my love.” Sophie chimed in from behind, remaining as collected as her consort. She crossed to the Sith Lord, bent to kiss his neck, and moved to take another seat at the communication table.
“We will need continuous reports from Korriban.” She said as her fingers flew over the terminal keys. A three dimensional galaxy map activated, along with a series inter-space holo channels, “I will contact Thyferra... see that the Leviathan crew is made ready for deployment.”
One of the holo channels illuminated as it connected with the inner-rim world, “This is Sophie Maurow of Byss requesting conference with Tris Draclau.”
A planet well known for the production of Bacta, now played as one of many homes to the Sith. Interested in the industry, Tris moved from the dark planet of Korriban and made his home on Thyferra. Being as one of few Sith to occupy the planet, Tris was made the governor and head of Military, which was a title well suited for him.
Tris wasn't a stranger to being a leader. He was once the Count; head Figure of the Separatists army that once existed. Seeing that he know held all knowledge that and technology of the faction, Tris thought he could start a small business of his own, but that was for future plans.
Looking over the logs of the patrols Tris was interrupted by one of his soldiers.
"Sir I have urgent news."
"Well spit it out Lt."
"Sir, I received a message from the council on Korriban. It seems that the Jedi are attacking."
The room filled with laughter as Tris knew that such a notion couldn't be true. There was no way that the Jedi do such a thing, but he had thought wrong. Seeing the seriousness in his soldier's eyes, Tris quickly went to the temple and called forth the council.
Thyferra Temple
"Council members, it was told that the planet of Korriban is under attack by the Jedi and the council has asked us for our help."
"But sir Genocide, Korriban has enough military power to protect themselves. Why would they need our help?''
"That may be so. But you should know that the Jedi couldn’t be underestimated. No enemy should be underestimated. I shall contact the leaders of each military group as well as the Korriban council. Telling them we are at their disposal."
"Sir a conference is called for by Lady Sophie."
Tris then turned to the holograph. "Ah Lady Sophie, I see that the news had reached you too. How may I be of service to Korriban? " Edited by: Tris Draclau at: 7/28/07 12:32 am
Just as Sophie’s summons connected with Thyferra, the commanding Sith Knight himself appeared in the holo council. It was all so remarkably efficient. The Sith communication network was even more refined than she had imagined.
“Darth Genocide... greetings.” Sophie nodded toward the ghostly light image. She folded her hands and rested them on the desk, “Our home world is under attack. Planetary assault teams are repelling the forces, but still, we cannot afford to lose Korriban.”
“Reinforcements will be necessary to supplement the efforts of our brethren...” The Mistress smiled slyly, “ ... when the Jedi are at their most vulnerable, that is. We need to know what resources we have available. If you would, please send me a report on your fleet status and prepare your forces for departure.”

Violet eyes reflected the desolate landscape of the Korriban Tombs. The Valley in which former Dark Lords and Masters have been burried Remy now walked through. His black suit, sporting a velvet tie, seemed immune to the desert's heat.
Looking skyward, he was well aware of what would transpire.
Re: Not taking it Anymore (Takeover TJC/TSC)Korriban: Outside The Temple, Meditation Area.
Moyicai breathed in the aroma from the smoke that the incense was burning, sweating dripping from his face as he le the force flow within him. Protecting, and cooling his body from the extreme heat of Korriban. He was dressed in simple robes, they were white, his two sabers placed beside him and his sword infront of him, his claymore sat behind him. He felt something, a disutrbance in the Force. His eyes slowly opened, Jedi.. He closed them, trying to sense where they would be coming from, he was unable to sense where they were exactly. But he knew they were close.
He would keep his place, he was running distance from the temple doors, so if he got overwhelmed he could retreat, something he thought he would never do. He sat there, trying to remember the last time he battled... Long ago, now, we'll see how rusty I really am." His hand started to shake, he was anxious for blood, the feel of his sword slicing into a person's skin.
Through the Force he could hear the faint sounds of Korriban's defenses, they were clouding his thoughts. He let out a curse and tried focusing, trying to use his Echani Arts to focus on the battle that would begin shortly, sharpening his awareness, skill and intensity in a fight. He took a breath, his mind pushing the sound of blasters away.
You know what will happen if you fail. You will fail your quest, your training, the Echani... Everything, now, I dissap His thoughts dissipated and his eyes opened. The sound of the cannons amplified tenfold. He stood, the long robes covered most his body, and went will past the length of his arms.
He sat down on one knee and said a recited an Echani prayer, "I have learned that Anger and Will, joined together, are the greatest Power. I have learned to meditate Anger and Will with clarity and precision, and I have learned to open the hidden reservoirs of Dark Side Power. Make my blade, and the death of my enemy swift and powerful, allow the Iron Fist of my ancestors to possess my soul and body," He continued for a couple minutes, and he rose. Moyicai looked up, his eyes closes and took a long deep breath, before he plunged into battle.

Re: Not taking it Anymore (Takeover TJC/TSC)Alderaan - 15 years ago ...
Tyen Shi sat in meditation, listening to Master Sho's every word. "Be wary of the Sith, Tyen. They are more than clever: their power is great, and made moreso by their emotions. An angry Sith is a formidable foe, but be patient with him: his power will burn out over time.
"They are dark and secret, given to stealth and formenting suspicion. Always be alert, for they can hide their true selves from you such that they can stand before you and you will not know their nature."
Tyen's eyes grew wide. "But Master: how can one face such a foe and hope to succeed?"
Master Sho smiled. "With faith, with hope, and with knowledge - though a little bit of cleverness doesn't hurt. Remember, Tyen: the panel that conceals will conceal all. The same abilities that allow the Sith to hide from the Jedi can be used against them. Their nature is the Dark Side, and as such they are not in tune with the Light."
-------- Today
Many considered Tyen to be weakest among the Jedi. He was not given to conflict, nor towards seeking to actively oppose the Sith. He had cleaned up after them far too often, and had become sick at heart over what he always had to face. This, however, had given him a unique gift that few other Jedi with his level of experience had: few Sith had ever come in contact with him, so virtually none would know of his presence unless he permitted it.
This, the Jedi Council decided, made him just the person they needed for a unique assignment:
* Coruscant *
Tyen walked alone on ground level, half a world away from the Government District or the former Jedi Temple. Tyen knew to stay away from there: the Sith made that place their own. They would not think of leaving, and it was possible, however unlikely, that he would be detected if he came close enough.
Tyen had been on Coruscant for a full season, following the will of the Force in carefully seeking out like-minded people to speak with. It took time, but he could feel the path of the world changing. Tonight he would speak to a new collection of people, same as he had every night since he came to this world. He would tell them the same things he had told the others, but this time it was different. Tonight he brought with him more hope than he ever had.
"... For months you have lived in fear: ever since the famine your world suffered through. What you need to remember is that the starvation you suffered wasn't because of pirates, or rationing, or corporate greed. You suffered because one Sith couldn't get along with another. They argued among themselves, and the method of argument they used starved your children and endangered all your lives.
"What you need to remember is that this can happen again! There are dozens of high-ranking Sith, all seeking to be first among them and unable to allow even their peers to be successful. They will claw and bite at one another, but not directly. That would bring about the ire of the group. Instead they will undercut each other by starving and murdering you, and they will defend themselves from harm by putting you and your families in harms way instead. With the Sith as your overlords, you live under a death sentence. It's not a question of if - only how and when."
One among the group stood up. "That's all good and impressive, but what good is it all? If we move against the government, they'll come down on us instantly so hard half the planet will be destroyed."
Tyen checked his chronometer and smiled. "At this very moment, the Jedi are moving against Korriban. The Sith will no doubt respond heavily, drawing their resources to deal with the Jedi threat. Their defenses will be depleted, and we'll never have a better chance to move against them."
Hoots and cheers came as native planners stirred up the crowd. Tyen sat and nodded - this had to be their revolution. Coruscant was betrayed by its government, it needed to be reclaimed by its people. As this cell prepared to move out, Tyen sent a private signal out to nearby cells, who relayed the message to others, and the message spread. Within minutes the signal had reached across the planet jumping from one group to the next: the time was now.
Across Coruscant, insurgents were taking to the streets to overwhelm the taskmasters the Sith had put over them. Tonight was a new beginning for them - live free: there was no other option.
