Into the Jungle (Takeover of Myrkr - TGE)
Grand Admiral Hathoruodo looked out through the vast expanse of space and smiled. There had been times, in recent months, when she had been less likely to smile - but finally things were looking good. After the disaster with Disra, Dorlas and Pollard vanishing all at once, Hathoruodo had been left with the prospect of trying to battle the ego of Bill Gould. And yet, despite disputes over ideology and personality, he had decided to let the female alien plan a campaign.
The Galactic Underworld had been crossing paths too many times in recent months for the Empire's liking. The Republic had been relatively combat-neutral; even the Jedi had settled down after the failed attack on Alderaan. But now, oddly, it seemed that the one section of society that had done them no harm was the one that was attacking them.
Anyway, despite the background, the Galactic Underworld had to be punished - and Myrkr was the best location for that. Their other bases, Imperial Intelligence discovered, were pretty useless targets - nothing gained in taking them other than destroying a couple of criminals - but this one was a goldmine. Barely a year previously, there had been a successful campaign on Myrkr to steal lots of ysalamiri - and the last reptile had finally died four weeks previously. This meant that they could do with some more, to press the attack back at Corellia.
Hathoruodo casually leant towards the wall and pressed the button that signalled crew readiness. With lots of tests and checks over recent days, they should be expecting something big. But they never knew whether it would be real until they arrived - a good tactician carried out lots of drills to keep them alert. She stepped out of her office to the salutes of many members of the bridge crew, and stepped to the middle of the room. She smiled, and looked out to space.
"Call a crew meeting in the main assembly room; and set a course for Myrkr. Enter hyperspace on Point B." She smirked and turned to talk to her crew; they would soon know the exact schedule of events for the attack. They would crush the criminals, win a planet, and do it quickly. No mistakes...
Re: Into the Jungle (Takeover of Myrkr - TGE)
Captain Mereel took a large leaf from a plant, as he passed, and mopped his brow with it. Of course, the plant could have been poisonous - and he was wearing a helmet - so in reality he was simply wiping the condensation off the front of the viewscreen; but it appeared otherwise to his companions. The forests of Myrkr were dangerous, but the Imperial Crimson Guards had so far met resistance only from the native vornskyr population and not the Galactic Underworld.
They had landed in a Gamma shuttle ninety kilometers west a day ago, and were still jogging; Viktor was currently leading and using his Force-pike to scythe through the plants, but they took turns. They had to keep running, though they were all feeling slightly tired, because in one hour they had to launch an attack on the main base in this section of forest. The criminals had attacked the Empire for the last time - and now they were going to lose a planet.
Cockiness had defeated the criminals on many occasions - the most obvious occasion being the lone Phase III Darktrooper Falcon Ghent, who was locked in a prison somewhere on the planet. The Imperial Royal Guard were to lie in wait, and locate him, before wreaking havoc. The Darktrooper would be able to get back to Professor Mengol with little difficulty, and hopefully the most elite fighting group in the galaxy wouldn't find a hundred-kilometer trek too difficult to get through.
Viktor looked ahead as he scythed another branch, and tried to spot any signs of the edge of the enemy camp. Hopefully this wing was undefended, assuming that nobody would attack from the dangerous and difficult forest side.

Re: Into the Jungle (Takeover of Myrkr - TGE)
Grand Admiral Hathoruodo stood in the middle of the assembled chamber of troops, waiting for the group of army officers to arrive. The navy corps that had been serving with her for some time had responded very quickly - as quickly as they should - and were patiently waiting, talking amongst themselves quietly in anticipation, wondering what they were called for. She smiled to them, to alleviate the pressure.
The room itself was circular, and very much like a large senate hall, except with more closely-packed seats. She thought through the plan and nodded to herself. It was going to work - they were going to destroy the annoying criminal faction with ease, and take their planet. With enough ysalamiri to fill the ship she was standing on, the IRS Shockwave, they would be able to do well at Corellia - and hopefully take the planet back.
But the first battle was enough to look at - and even then, only the first stage. Stage one was simple: whilst the Crimson Guard, secretly, made their way through the forest to attack the west of the camp and break-out the Darktrooper for insane Professor Mengol, the IIB would land east and press the attack. The navy and army would enter hyperspace together, ready to mop-up afterwards.
She saw the army officers closing on her, and stood, ready to speak to them.
Re: Into the Jungle (Takeover of Myrkr - TGE)
The Imperial Crimson Guard finally found the first sign of the camp - spotting a distant sentry. With about thirty minutes to go, they had around one kilometer to travel; however, they would have to be completely silent from now on. It was unlikely that they would hear a noise through the canopy of windy trees, insect chirpings, bird singings and vornskyr roars - but there was always that chance. A single troop alerting people to their presence would change the plans. And yet, it couldn't do too badly - it would have to simply reverse the roles of the Crimson Guard and Imperial Intelligence Bureau.
The Captain stopped the others, and pointed the sentry out. They were all granted the rank of Captain today, though some were trainees and others weren't even Guardsmen. All of them were competent, and had kept up with the elite leader - but the real test would be soon to come, and could perhaps be difficult to succeed in. But, no matter what happened, Hathoruodo would find a way to make victory out of the situation when she arrived in 90 minutes.

Pter had never truly adjusted to life aboard spacecraft; that's the primary reason he joined the Army so many years ago.
"Sir, the Admiral has requested an audience with the Army Officers." Pter nodded and followed the young man as he led them through several corridors and finally, to a spacious conference type room. Just up ahead was the familiar sight of Hathoruodo, her blue skin easily set her apart from any other crew member aboard the vessel.
With a look of expectation on her face, Pter approached the tactical genius. "Your orders, Admiral?"
Re: Into the Jungle (Takeover of Myrkr - TGE)Finally, we are going after those outlaws. Aurulius, Commodore Aurulius to be exact, could remember that they had gone after the pirates recently. Or more honest, the pirates had attacked and Aurulius was the one that led the naval forces in that particular battle. With a smirk, he remembered how well that had gone. But now they were fighting back, taking the battle to the outlaws.
The Imperial Intelligence marked the planet of Myrkr as a target, and it was the only one that held any military value. On the planet were the lizards that helped the imperials defeat force users. The Commodore didn't care much for that, though, and more for the fact that they would be fighting against the outlaws. That was the only important reason for him to be there. Grand Admiral Blue could take care of something like gathering lizards on her own, but Aurulius liked the idea of fighting.
Not just commanding ships, but using the normal training that he had been given. But for now, Aurulius would stand on the bridge of his Star Destroyer, and wait for orders from the High Command. Soon, she would give something as to the orders. His holoprojected form would be seen on Blue's ship, appearing in the circular room to wait for something to happen. Better than actually going over there myself. He thought as he looked at the screen.

She stood in the room, as the army officers and troops filed into their seats, and saluted. Instantly, the naval officers stood and saluted her, becoming silent immediately. The army officers were still filing in, but soon worked out that they were to do the same when they found their places. As they did so, and the army finished making their way in, Hathoruodo started.
"Citizens and officers of the glorious Galactic Empire, I thank you for coming to this meeting. Some of you may know what is happening, but others won't. Allow me to explain." She stepped forwards, towards the amphitheater of Imperials, and a hologrammatic map of the galaxy appeared behind her. "This is the galaxy, and highlighted in red are the zones under Imperial control." The colours were small, and though they had perhaps been expanded from the truth, still represented a shockingly small amount of territory.
"Fellow Imperials, we stand on a crossroad today. From the Emperor's death, we spiralled into a small faction among many Imperial factions, Republican factions, Rebel factions and small territories controlled by villianous scum and Jedi. We rose from the ashes, formed many treaties and rose to where we are today. The Galactic Empire has returned." There was a mild amount of applause to this, since it had been named so for a year already.
"However, over recent months, we have been dwindling again. Since that traitor Maxiloriad Kebron attacked and killed High Admiral Disra, and later similar treacherous attacks killed General Dorlas and High Admiral Pollard, we lost Corellia because of recalled troops by Emperor Kaine, who was later killed in action - and then we scraped a win at Alderaan, with aid from the Sith. We now have the crossroads - do we continue to plummet into oblivion or do we begin another surge of power?" There were several cheers, and Hathoruodo smiled.
Several stars behind her lit green, and she spoke. "This represents the territory of the Galactic Underworld, a large group of criminals that have secured some territory. In recent weeks, they have launched several attacks on us. If they remain unpunished, more will certainly follow. And so, naturally, we attack. Since their last attack was on Yavin IV, we shall attack their nearest planet - Myrkr - and reclaim our stolen treasure, and hopefully some lost comrades."
She clicked the map off, and continued to speak. "I have before me the greatest fighting force in the galaxy. Our navy have suffered a total of zero defeats in battle, except at Corellia, where we fled under cowardly orders. Our army have whitewashed everywhere they attacked. The Imperial Intelligence Bureau and Crimson Guards - both awesome fighting forces as well as incredible motivators - are already in the system, fighting for us." There was a lurch as the ship entered hyperspace on the mark. They would exit in thirty minutes.
"I have faith in you - and you have faith in the Galactic Empire. We will not let criminals defeat us! We are the greatest! Now, get ready for a battle against rogues - and show what superior training and cooperation can do against people that care only about themselves! Good luck, and glory to the Empire!" She saluted and left the stage, stepping into the shadows nearest the bridge, turning to head to her personal station, where she would need to analyse the situation in under half an hour.

Hathoruodo saw General Arakin approach, and turned to meet him. "General," she smiled as she listened to his (brief) question. "We are perfectly on time. We have exactly 27 minutes to prepare for exiting hyperspace, and will scan ahead to see what the situation is. I am sure that you will be able to motivate your troops and prepare for landing. Remember, the landing craft must land exactly twenty miles south and north of the marker exactly - the forest troops with the AT-STs and AT-MTs must land to the north, slightly into forest, and the AT-AT open troops must land to the south, in open desert. We shall pincer them from four sides, and destroy them."
She smiled and her red eyes seemed to flare briefly. "Once you get that far, use your own tactics. Save all the Imperials and files that you can, destroy everything else. I don't want a single criminal to survive to fight against us. I'll handle those in space; try not to let any slip through to me if you can. Good luck, General." She saluted, and turned to head up to the bridge, where she would make an announcement to the various naval officers on other vessels nearby.

Re: Into the Jungle (Takeover of Myrkr - TGE)
The orders had already been passed - to plot for Myrkr and head into hyperspace - when Hathoruodo arrived on the bridge. She hadn't revealed to anybody except Viktor Mereel and Bill Gould the plans from there; if news got out, they could still manipulate the situation into a win. But now she had an obligation to let the rest of her staff know what she - and they - were going to do when arriving.
She opened up a transmission to the various Admirals, Commodores and Captains in surrounding ships and spoke softly. "Fellow Imperials, this is Grand Admiral Hathoruodo." She paused. "As you are aware, we are attacking Myrkr. Hopefully most of you will already know, from our previous attacks and from background knowledge, that Myrkr is a planet with two moons. I, with the largest ship in the fleet, will take the more open and potentially dangerous option of attacking the main fleet head-on directly above the target base."
She paused for breath, and to let the information sink in, and continued. "You, in turn, are going to be sent a set of coordinates. Each one will bring you out of the gravity shadow behind a moon, away from the sensors that we are aware of. Four of you will be brought out on the far side of the planet. To these four, Project Emperor's Hammer applies as you move through the planet's orbit to join us on the other side. All minor colonies should be destroyed - and Commodore Aurulius should be able to manage any air attacks that come your way in the process."
The data was sent, and the people on the other end would see a hologrammatical map of the system, containing the places they would leave hyperspace. "We aren't expecting much resistance - but communications should be dead on the ships that are hiding in shadows. If I need any assistance, I'll send a communication that you will receive, and then you should join me. We also have several ships in reserve, waiting to hop into the system if they spot any reinforcements arrive for the enemy - or to flee if nobody else can get news to the Empire."
She raised her eyebrows, though nobody would see that through the voice-only comlink. "I have total faith in you all. We have suffered defeats recently, but we shall win here. Glory to the Empire!" she said, and cut the comlink. Things were almost ready here - she just hoped that the ICG and IIB were ready on the ground for them; and that the army were ready for a daring run from high orbit to the ground, through enemy defences.
Re: Into the Jungle (Takeover of Myrkr - TGE)
Sergeant Falcon Ghent, successful experiment but unsuccessful soldier, only completed Darktrooper Phase III, archnemesis of the feared Bounty Hunter Kane E Smart, paced the small prison cell. The jamming signals around the prison complex meant that he couldn't control the electric signals to use weaponry or other types of sight - in short, he could only move in the suit, but use no other features.
The walls were thick durasteel-plated duracrete, and the small slot reserved for giving him food went underground, and was no help. On one side, a very thick and well-armoured door held the key to how he was put in the place; but other than very thin and long air vents, he couldn't escape. Leaning on the wall, as he had done so many times before, he listened to the guards outside as he faintly heard the alarm go off. He couldn't hear the conversation, but glimpses came through.
"thousand troops"... "east"... "black armour"... "shuttle"... as he continued to pace, he worked out what had happened - the black armour presumably refered to the Imperial Investigation Bureau's troops - and presumably there were around a thousand of them, unless he hadn't heard a number before the phrase in the conversation. The shuttle implied a high-level ranking officer; probably not Bill Gould himself, but somebody - and if they were heading from the east, then that meant they were crossing the plains, and not coming from the forest. Presumably, as it was still light through the air vents, it was almost dusk, and the black armour was to aid night-time fighting; but that wasn't a definite.
Whether they were coming for him, or simply for a raid on the location, there was a chance that the jamming signal would fall, somehow, and that his weapon systems would come back online. If that happened, he would potentially be able to break free of his prison.
Re: Into the Jungle (Takeover of Myrkr - TGE)
First there had been a great speach, given by the Grand Admiral. Mostly an attempt to raise morale, and attempt to use the past to rally everyone towards the goal they were going after. But all the past did for the Commodore was make him wish for the old days. Back when the people in charge were Disra, Drake, Dorlas, and Max. Sure, those days were gone, but still he wished for them to somehow return. Then he thought about it.
The only way he could work was with the present, and hopefully work to bring the Empire back to its former glory. The Commodore continued to listen, Grand Admiral Blue was praising the navy, and the army, as if her words were going to be true merely by the face that she had said them. The truth about it was, they were not as good as they used to be. There was a lot of work that needed to be done, and it would be done. A few more words, and the speech was through. The civilians were enthusiastic and the officers seemed to be proud of the wrok they were about to do.
Everyone had the basic orders, they knew that the planet of Myrkr was their target. But the specifics would hopefully be heard soon enough. Aurulius listened as he heard his orders being told to him. He was to take care of any air attacks that came by. That task would be easy enough to do, though he wished that there was something of more importance. After all, not many outlaws would try to attack them.
And with only a few fighters against them, a captain would be smart enough to do this assugnment. But he would do it anyway, and do it to the best of his ability. All he could do was make sure that everyone was ready. The coordinates were entered, and the pilots were at their ships. All was going well, and everyone was frantically getting to their stations.

Re: Into the Jungle (Takeover of Myrkr - TGE)
After the last disasterous attack by the Empire on the planet of Myrkr, things had been different on the planet. Several of the pirates had made the place their home away from home. A defense fleet, though not of the scale the Empire could bing to bear, had been cobbled together by the pirates and smugglers who made their home there. Everything from individual fighters to the Crimson Ferret's Revenge could be found around the planet at any given time, and the size of the fleet was always mutable and changing. The small populace was also better prepared, most of the people who lived there year round having taken precautions in the form of local militias, some trained by various members of TGU. It was in the Underworld's interest to keep Myrkr safe from a second attack....
And Saede had little doubt that one would come. Soon? Unlikely. Eventually? Yes. She'd spent copious quantities of time here after her incarceration by the Imperials in the form of one Bill Gould. The bruises had faded, the blood washed away, but Saede hadn't forgotten the way her body had. No, she had little doubts of a repeat of those events. But next time she knew, they would bring more ships, more men. Being unable to hold the planet the last time, next time they wouldn't come in and make that same mistake a second time.
At the moment, Saede, along with much of the crew of the Crimson Ferret's Revenge, were in the primary outpost just five kilometers outside of the largest city. Population all over the world was sparse, but it had swelled in the last few years, civilian numbers filling in with an assortment of smugglers, pirates, mercenaries and the occasional bounty hunter. After the events of the last attack, Saede had been approached to train the local militias in hand to hand combat, as well as basics of weapons and tactics. She'd recruited Savin to help with the heavier weapons, and had surprised the gathered militia with her knowledge of demolitions as well. She had Baltimore to thank for that!
"Now, when an enemy comes at you, like this..." She paused, motioning her sparring partner foreward. He quickly complied, a training knife in hand, aimed directly at her stomache. "You sidestep, like so...."
The lesson continued at slower speeds to illustrate the point, and then she broke the men and women up into pairs to practice. Stepping back, she watched, giving pointers on occasion, helpful guidance but seldom telling someone they were flat out incorrect. She guided, not ordered, and the trust these people had in her showed. Even if she was a pirate, a dangerous and wanted women... they couldn't think of many people they'd rather have fighting on their side if things went south.
Re: Into the Jungle (Takeover of Myrkr - TGE)
Viktor stopped as they saw a building ahead; the people behind me stopped at the same time, glancing around to look for electronic devices or sentries. Sealing off their air vents, and finding themselves fully ok with their fitness again, they opened up communications - and static filled them. The squealing stopped a split-second later, and Viktor shook his head. Sliding open his mouth slot, he leant towards the others and spoke softly.
"I can see two guards," he said, quietly. "If they arm themselves and move away, I'll know. If any ship moves, I'll hear. Be alert, and wait for my signal. It shouldn't be long."
Even that was an overstatement. There were five minutes on the ETA for the IIB, and they would presumably draw off the enemy straight away. Hopefully, all would work - but if the IIB failed to draw people away or didn't turn up, how would Hathoruodo contact him through the communications jamming?

James was new around the camp, and had only just begun his work with TGU. He was handy with a blaster and good in a bar fight, but he had not had much reason to square off with Imperials before, so he paid adamant attention to what Saede had to teach.
When they paired off he followed his training partner, and they practiced the manuver repeatedly until both he and his parter had it.
"Good teacher, that one.". He said motioning to Saede.

To the right of Viktor, hidden in the dense foliage of Myrkyr, another similarly clad guardsman watched with the same eyes as his superior, and trusted his judgment unwaveringly. This guard was guard trainee Ayreon Faraway, and this venture was his first mass-assault. Overall, he thought it appropriate that the Empire would showcase its true power on a bunch of unruly miscreants that polluted the galaxy with their filth and wretchedness. Scowling, the guard almost grasped his Force pike in anticipation, but in the end, controlled himself. That was why he was a Crimson Guard, one of the elite forces of the Empire; he could control his urges for such things.
These criminals, though, they could not. Granted, some would say that they could, but that only applied when they were steeling their nerves for preparation of something bigger; Ayreon knew that he faced a collection of individuals who could not live under the peaceful associations of the law, of common rule of any government, even one like the Empire that had rightful possession of the galaxy. Thus, Ayreon waited. They would free the Dark Trooper, and then they would show the galaxy their true power.
Nodding to the head Captain Ayreon remained crouched, and continued to observe the pair of guards just as Captain Mereel did.
"Roger that, Captain." Ayreon spoke; his words would be too quiet thanks to their inner helmet communications to be heard by anyone on the outside, but perfect for acknowledging the orders of his commander.
Re: Into the Jungle (Takeover of Myrkr - TGE)
Kane sat across from the Bothan warlord. " What do you mean you don't have all the money?"
The Bothan rattled off more jibberish as Kane listened intently to his translator.
" Mr Smart! He says he can give you 9 million now and the other 31 million later".
Kane couldn't believe his ears.
" That's less than a quarter! Tell him I'll take one of his assault cruisers, his crew and some armoured vehicles"
The Bothan was startled and began getting angry.
" Mr Smart! He says the cruises is worth 97 million, more than three times the difference"
Kane was not happy, grabbing the Bothan by the throat as his Mando's drew weapons to cover his mercs, he spat the words from under his visor. " Tell him I'll value it at 20 million, then I'll take crew, mercs and armour to my valuation of 20 mil or he can fight his war with sticks and stones and I'll take the weapons home!"
The Bothan made yet another scene.
" He says that is less than a quarter of the cost of the craft, he put all his wealth into this war"
Kane nodded. " No less than he wants to give me, tell him to think of them as a security deposit!"
After much deliberation the Bothan reluctantly agreed, Kanes crew took the Bothan Assault Cruiser, 10,000 mercs and hundreds of armoured and artillery pieces as a deposit.
The value was well in excess of 150 million but Kane knew the Billionaire Bothan would rush to find his 40 million in cash or risk losing his war.
Re: Into the Jungle (Takeover of Myrkr - TGE)IRS Shockwave; At the bridge
The scientist's footsteps fell lightly upon the durasteel catwalk which led to the head of the bridge. His eyes wandered about during his lazy progression, observing with interest the degree of discipline the Grand Admiral had enforced aboard her vessel; he chuckled with amusement as the presumed late "fanatical Admiral" Drake Pollard came to mind. It was doubtful that anyone could ever match Pollard's obsession with the Empire and its military protocol, but as far as enforcing structure went, Hat'ho'ruodo was an even match. The respect she managed to command over her underlings was another subject of amusement altogether for the Professor, considering the fact that she was an alien operating in an institution whose leadership consisted of human supremacists. Yes, Mengol indeed looked quite out of place amongst the quiet and diligently operating clockwork bridge crew - His hands folded atop one another at the small of his hunched back, messily-kempt salt-and-pepper hair and scruffy beard overshadowed by that pair of bulging, bloodshot eyes.
He came to a halt just behind the blue-skinned Grand Admiral, stuffing his hands into the pockets of his loosely-fitted white labcoat. It had been quite some time since he'd left his beloved Citadel, though the situation was delicate and required his direct attention, rather than that of one of his minion researchers. Myrkr was the only source for ysalamiri until one could be successfully cloned without it mysteriously losing its ability to negate the effects of the Force, and the miniature beasts were a necessity for keeping Jedi and Sith specimens in careful control... Though, of course, the ysalamiri were not his primary concern... No, Mengol had accompanied the Grand Admiral for another reason. Adjusting his eyeglasses, the Professor looked to Hat'ho'ruodo with an almost-too-friendly grin. Whether it was to extend a small courtesy or merely to entertain himself, when Mengol spoke, it was in Cheunh, with surprising fluency for a non-Chiss.
"Wonderful rhetoric, Hat'ho'ruodo... I am impressed with your charisma. A pity that it will go unappreciated, save for perhaps the crew of this Super Star Destroyer." He paused, tapping at his chin lazily with his index finger. "...The Dark Trooper... Make certain that it is not damaged. The Imperial Research Division highly values it, though only in functioning condition."

Re: Into the Jungle (Takeover of Myrkr - TGE)Myrkr.
Two blazing yellow eyes looked up within the darkness of the jungle. A long tooth emanated from it's jaw, joined by several hundred others. This tooth was currently dripping with an acidic substance, green in color and as murky as molasses. A feral howl emanated from the cave these teeth occupied, this orifice that could create sound at a whim. This cave was answered by others like it, a pack of the monstrous sounds coming together to create a hymn of terror. The orifice's cousin sniffed gently, taking in a waff of air in big gulps. Each waff brought in a new smell - it's olfactories translating each smell into a thought. These thoughts were nonchalant until a certain smell entered the mind of the beast, this master of the yellow eyes. This certain smell, this thought, was that of war. War was on the air, and the beast with the yellow eyes knew it. It turned around, heading back for it's master, when it saw one of them - one of the residents.
This resident had resided here for quite some time - a smuggler from the Hutt Cartel. As a father of two, the man had raised his family in the small community on Myrkr as he ran about the galaxy, delivering illegal goods for the money he used to feed them. He had often thought of releasing himself from such a job, of retiring to the wilderness of Myrkr to make his own way with his family. The resident had often felt guilty for the things he did - for the people he had stolen from, the evil men he delivered to. Such was the life of the smuggler, such that the beast with the yellow eyes did not care for. These smells that entered it's secondary, small orifices did not translate such a history into thoughts. No, these smells translated only as prey, a prey that would soon satiate the beast with the yellow eye's hunger. Further down from the yellow tainted teeth of the beast came the claws, extended from the beast to a length that could tear easily through duracrete, much less a man's fless. The creature slunk down to it's crouched position, eyeing the resident as he wandered down a path within the jungle back to the community.
The residents' knew of the monstrocities of the jungle. They knew of the jungle. Why this particular one was wandering alone was confusing the beast, though such confusion did not override the need to feast. The resident stopped in his tracks, turning to look around as if suspicious someone was watching, and then continued on. A great muscle tongued from the beast with the yellow eye's mouth, licking the acid from it's teeth and withdrawing it back within the beast's mouth. It's claws gripped the ground in anxiety, the back muscles of the monstrosity tensing. The thrill of the hunt was evident in this creature as it slowly prowled forward, following this man as he continued to walk the path. The beast knew that the man was far from the village, and that the creature could follow him for hours and still have time to spare. A new smell entered. A smell of the master. A smell of the dark one.
The face of Artemis Obauldi, master of the Voxxyn on Myrkr and fallen Dread Lord of the Yuuzhan Vong remnant, entered the creature's mind.
Come to me.
The mind of the beast with the yellow eyes whined in protest. The Yuuzhan Vong did not have the power of telepathy nor a way to contact the Voxxyn, but the smell merely translated into the thought. The fallen Dread Lord knew how to find the Voxxyn and where to find the Voxxyn - he was there master, after all, and had spent more than two years shaping the small attachment of the beasts that still stayed upon the jungle planet. When Artemis beckoned, the creatures of the wilderness answered. He had given the unnatural life, and therefore they answered his call. For now, the creature would have to choose between obeying it's master or feeding. It wasn't much of a decision for the monstrosity as the resident screamed helplessly, teeth and claws sinking into his tender flesh. The screams continued for several minutes as he was torn into, murky streams of black seeping from his wounds as the man began to tremor. The creature was digging it's face into his stomach as it held him down. Soon it had ahold of his ribcage with it's teeth, and upon effortlessly picking him up, the beast with the yellow eyes carried it's food along as the creature left to rendevousz with it's taskmaster.
It found the fallen Dread Lord and several other of the beast's brothers and sisters sitting in a circle around the fleshy throne room, staring as the Yuuzhan Vong lounged in the throne he was once proud of. He was eating grapes - a delicacy on the planet- as he threw his feet over the armrest of the throne. The organic material the throne was made out of was very plush, allowing a comfortable sitting position for the Yuuzhan Vong. His eyes continually changed colors, constantly confusing the bulk of the Voxxyn. Many of the others had eaten, therefore none of them impeded on the feast that the beast with the yellow eyes had attained as it walked up and laid down, gnawing on it's meal. The others were steadily looking up as the one named Artemis dabbled with a small urn, smoke pouring from it. The smoke emanated the strong smell that had attracted the Voxxyn. The Yuuzhan Vong was very pleased that so many of the Voxxyn had survived amongst the wilds of the jungle - they were certaintly a strong breed.
"I've called you all here for a reason."
The beast with the yellow eyes knew why the master had called them. The beast had smelled it earlier. War.
"I require your teeth. I require your claws. I require your efficiency at killing." The Yuuzhan Vong smiled.
Whenever the Yuuzhan Vong smiled, he was happy. Whenever Artemis Obauldi was happy, the Voxxyn were happy. They were the frontline defense of the Yuuzhan Vong installment upon the planet, and they would do well to stall such a ground invasion. As for a orbital bombardment, it could not be done without destroying much of the planet and it's valuable ecosystem. Artemis knew this - he had built the Monolith well within a cliffhang, the jungle's overhead causing not only for shade but also camouflage from those trying to peer from above. The fallen Dread Lord knew what he was doing when he had shaped an army - he would certaintly know what he was doing to defend against one. Besides, it's not as if the Yuuzhan Vong was here of his own free will. He had actually been awaiting the presence of one Jake Leventa with a River Shanshu, but they hadn't showed for the last month. Now, the Yuuzhan Vong was stuck here because of their incompetence, and because of the fleet that had just reared it's ugly head.
Now, Artemis was forced to ally with criminals to fight against this rising threat.

Re: Into the Jungle (Takeover of Myrkr - TGE)
Renze grinned as reports of his forming armies first contract filtered through to his command post aboard the Crimson Badger, Renze usually fought from one of the two larger vessels he was currently in command of but the Corvette was the only thing small enough for the stolen cloaking field to work on, besides the smaller the ship the fewer mechanical breakdowns could distract him from listnening to his commanders. Renze hit the call button on his ship board comm link and selected his second in command's number,
"very good, finish up with the looting, set the targeter on the enemy CP for bombardment and bug out, that Bothan will be happy with the work we've done here," Renze rattled off his sting of orders and punched in a new number, "tell Kane his Warlord just got some more time to come up with the creds, the threat to his power base has been neutralized."
Renze sent the message and turned to the Badger's first mate,
"as soon as the troops are back aboard their ships and that CP is slag set a course for Myrkr, I think we all need some shore leave," Renze said and turned towards his chair, "oh and call that warlord and tell him we'll take the other half of our creds now," Renze sat and relaxed, grinning behind his helmet Renze smiled as he thought of the warlord's face when he heard he had just lost another two million creds, Renze lost his smile almost immediately when the image of Kane's face when he heard the news came into his head. He'd have some fast talking to do when he got back.

Hathoruodo turned to the professor and smiled. "Why thankyou, Professor. I am sure that, if anyone can get the Darktrooper out intact, our Crimson Guard can. They are the most intelligent and elite commando unit in the galaxy, and their leader is someone I am proud to have working alongside me. I am certain that the Sergeant will get to us soon enough - any damage will probably have already been done. We don't know if they've taken any precautions."
She shrugged. "We have two minutes until we exit hyperspace. Make sure you've got our CGT array working when we exit - they're sure to have some cloaked vessels out there and we need to be able to see them. They've caused too much damage in previous encounters." She looked at the chronometer. "100 seconds."

Renze grinned as his three ships jumped to hyperspace, he'd deactivate the active comouflage they'd stolen from Kuat when they arrived insystem, Renze stood and checked his credit balance, it had gone up by two million, Renze grinned and sent the prescribed percentage to every man in his fleet, Renze didn't keep any of the cash himself, after all with just under two billion credits sitting in his personal account he hardly needed it. Renze stepped into his room and didn't even bother to take off his armour before he collapsed into bed, it had been a long day and the adrenaline of a payday had finally worn off.
Renze was just drifting off into sleep when his first mate sent him a message telling him that they'd be entering on the darkside of the planet Myrkr in approximately fifty seconds, Renze groaned loudly and heaved himself off the bed, he'd forgotten that the jump would take less than a couple minutes, swearing loudly with his external speakers turned off Renze trudged out onto the bridge and sat down. After a minute of waiting Renze watched as the stars spun back to normal, Renze paused for a second and then he had a thought,
"get us ready to dock and prep a shuttle for me, I'm gonna move back to the flagship," Renze ordered and made his way down the hall towards the docking bay on the Corvette, he'd move to the Acclamator, Bouncer and then he'd start the R & R rotation.
Renze relaxed in the shuttle as it made it's way towards the assault ship, to think, about ninety seconds ago he'd been in another system...

Moisture and heat wreaked havoc on the gentle curls that cascaded down to her tiny waist, which elicited a soft sigh from the young woman. She murmurred in annoyance, tucking the stray curl back into her upswept hair. Several slender decorative hair sticks held the mass up neatly, and doubled as clever poison darts when the ends were snapped off. They delivered a lethal dose of Irksh poison, which she'd paid a small fortune for.
"Bloody frakking jungle..." Serrena growled with annoyance, as she stalked across the observation platform. Overlooking the training yard where Saede was working with the local militia, she paused for a brief moment to watch. The statuesque redhead was a contradiction in terms - shining red hair and a slender figure belied her battle-proven abilities. The scars she bore were testament to her abilites, from a time both women would rather forget.
Winking as she caught the First Mate's gaze, the smile on her lips grew as she caught the attention of several of the militia men as well. She blew them a kiss, distracting several of them enough to allow their sparring partners to score a strike against them. Seemingly delicate hands smoothed out what little fabric there was to her outfit. The carefully arranged straps held a number of shuriken, sharp and deadly. Her sais were tucked into carefully constructed sheaths in her knee-high boots, the low heels and the toes clad in gleaming durasteel.
Twin DL-44 blaster pistols hung low on her hips, and Serrena's hands balanced lightly on the grips as she paced. Her deep crimson orbs were glowing as she watched the training pairs below.

Violent by nature and more tuned to the spontaneous ways of street fighting than organized close-combat styles, Nathaniel had decided that whatever Saede Taggart had to teach could be worth his while. And besides, it gets me away from the @#%$ deserts for awhile, Nathaniel Alcine had reasoned. He was sick to death of Tatooine, Velusia and every other place he landed that was sand-covered. Adapting his fighting style to the intricate work that Saede was teaching was another matter though. Tall and proud, he halted against his sparring partner and scowled in Saede's direction.
"I feel like a Twi'lek dancing slave rather than a fighter!" he barked. "Is this really going to work better than brute force?"
Well, brute force and uncanny timing, he thought privately. Though a teen, Nate had already taken blood. First, on Csilla when he'd killed an officer of the Defense Force in a bar brawl. The second had been a treasonous pirate on Ord Mantell who'd nearly gotten him killed.

Renze stepped off the shuttle and made his way through the Acclamator towards the bridge, once he'd arrived Renze settled into his command chair and started to get the R&R for his crew organised. Pausing, Renze had a sense of deep foreboding, pushing it aside Renze cleared the first LAAT full of troops due for shore leave for departure and sent the roster to his second.
Renze turned towards the weapons man and decided to act upon his instinct,
"order the Badger to remain cloaked, and put the rest of the fleet on level three alert," Renze ordered, level three was hardly flashing red lights and running troops, all it was, was a message sent to all Mercs to be on their gaurd and for all ships to remain on a four hour watch rotation.

OOC: -Stares at Serrena- Want to touch the hiny...
IC:
Marcus lay passed out on his bed. The ship was somewhere off in space, though not far from Myrkr, seeing that his first mate was there. The majority of the crew was either still drunk, passed out, or vomiting profusely and wincing at the slightest noise. All of the lights were out in order to accomodate the disposition of all three states of existence.
The only people who weren't too hammered or incapacitated (for the most part) were the exotic dancers. But then again, they were busy doing something else.
And so the Crimson Ferret's Revenge floated about, completely useless, through space.
Wait!
Marcus stirred, looking as if to get up. He then rolled over and fell promptly to sleep.
Re: Into the Jungle (Takeover of Myrkr - TGE)
High Commissar Gould stepped down from one of the many shuttle that had unloaded the Imperial Intelligence Bureau forces. They had landed in the forests under night cover and with the assitance of cloaking devices. He wasn't fond of such things, men should land under fire, not sneak in. But it was how the plan was set, so he would follow it.
The IIB forces wore completely black armor which aided them in night combat. It made scouting out a landing zone fairly easy while it was still night. The day time had been spent organizing and positioning the groups of AT-ST's so they could lead the spearhead of the assault with the troops following quickly behind. Gould spent the day going over the assault plan and awaiting the signal to launch the assault.
As dusk began to arrive, Gould sent the order through the ranks of officers and Commissars to begin the attack. Taking command of his own group of troopers, Gould kept his side arms holstered and instead carried a standard issue Imperial repeating rifle.
With a small artillery detachment of eight guns, Gould listened as their solid slug ammunition exploded in smoke and flame as it fired out of the barrel and towards the Criminal facilities. A few anti-aircraft missiles had been placed, but the artillery crews were not expected to be protected, it would be the Navy's duty to give air cover.
As the IIB forces advanced, they quickly moved onto the plains. The AT-ST immediately began chewing up any non-Imperials that were spotted, the IIB troopers killing whatever survive the AT-ST assault. Gould knew the artillery's volume would alert the Criminal's of the attack, but it would also tell the Crimson Guard that the attack had begun.
