You have just entered room "Spirit Hunter Part 4."
Idran1701 has entered the room.
DraconicKobold: (It may be a few, not just because of people waiting to get in, but also
because I have things to organize.)
DraconicKobold: (Also, Idran?)
Idran1701: (Hmm?)
Idran1701: (...Oh, right, Greg's level?)
Idran1701: (Forgot about that. >_>)
DraconicKobold: (Yes, that.)
Idran1701: (I could do it really quickly if you want, or we can put it off for this session. Either way
works for me.)
DraconicKobold: (I say go ahead and deal with it now. Also I note that Kate has not listed
last session's experience or dealt with the resultant levelup.)
DraconicKobold: (Actually, in that event Idran, I leave it up to you whether you want to
hold off or do it now.)
DraconicKobold: (And Brian?)
Idran1701: (I'll hold it off. I still need to decide stat and skill raises anyway.)
DraconicKobold: (All right, works for me.)
DraconicKobold: (.....okay, something's up. Neither Kate nor FD has an away message
up, yet neither one is responding to my IMing. Where could they be?)
DraconicKobold: (And while I'm on that, is Brian even here mentally, or is he lurking?)
DraconicKobold: (.......................)
Idran1701: (Seems like he's lurking, but he might have just been distracted with something.)
Arch mage144: (I'm here.)
DraconicKobold: (Right.)
DraconicKobold: (Because, by hook or by crook, I'm doing this tonight.)
DraconicKobold: (....wait, am I even using that phrase the right way?)
DraconicKobold has left the room.
DraconicKobold has entered the room.
Idran1701: (I think so, but it's a weird expression in the first place, so I'm not sure.)
DraconicKobold: (*kicks connection*)
DraconicKobold has left the room.
DraconicKobold has entered the room.
DraconicKobold: (*sigh* Dammit.)
DraconicKobold: (Well, FD's put up an away message, but still no sign of Kate.)
DraconicKobold: (figures, NOW she puts one up.)
EternalDragonAya has entered the room.
DraconicKobold: (Soon as I can pull FD in here..... problem is he's away.)
DraconicKobold: (well, WAS away.)
DraconicKobold: (Okay, now that most of the people are here..... someone care to call
heads or tails?)
Idran1701: (OK. Tails?)
*OnlineHost*: DraconicKobold rolled 1 2-sided die: 1
DraconicKobold: (.....hmph. Heads. Leaves me to decide which of those two to bring in.)
DraconicKobold: (*flips again to decide*)
*OnlineHost*: DraconicKobold rolled 1 2-sided die: 1
DraconicKobold: (Heads again. Mikhais it is.)
DraconicKobold: (Also, the reason FD's taking so long is that his internet connection is
acting up.)
DraconicKobold has left the room.
DraconicKobold has entered the room.
DraconicKobold: (Mine's been acting up a bit as well, I see.)
EternalDragonAya: (Heh)
Arch mage144: (Give me the fucking sword, Starman >_<)
DraconicKobold: (Still problems with FD'd internet, it seems. I'll wait as long as need be,
but can someone else make an attempt at inviting him, just in case?)
Idran1701: (Sure, I'll try.)
Idran1701: (What SN is he using? He doesn't seem to be on my buddy list.)
DraconicKobold: (I believe it's "OverlordMegatron".)
DraconicKobold: (*test*)
DraconicKobold: (.....danged parents.)
DraconicKobold: (So no progress from FD, I see.)
Idran1701: (Well, the invitation's not cancelled, at least. >_>)
DraconicKobold has left the room.
DraconicKobold has entered the room.
DraconicKobold has left the room.
DraconicKobold has entered the room.
DraconicKobold: (*sigh* Dammit.)
DraconicKobold: (.....y'know what? I really can't wait any longer. But I'm stuck deciding
whether to start without FD and find a way for him to catch up or wait.)
EternalDragonAya: (hEH)
DraconicKobold: (If FD does not get his problem fixed in fifteen minutes we start without
him.)
Arch mage144: (Rather small RP.)
DraconicKobold has left the room.
DraconicKobold has entered the room.
DraconicKobold: (....hmph.)
DraconicKobold has left the room.
DraconicKobold has entered the room.
DraconicKobold: (*sigh* I give up. FD's going to have to catch up if his
connection allows him a chance.)
DraconicKobold: (I can't wait any longer, since I want to get this done
TODAY.)
DraconicKobold: (So, roll call.)
Idran1701: (I'm still here.)
EternalDragonAya: (RAR)
DraconicKobold: (That leaves Brian.)
DraconicKobold: (.....................)
DraconicKobold: (.....gads, it's like everyone's conspiring against me.)
DraconicKobold: (Okay, you know what? Fuck it. Forget getting this RP done
before Easter, because I'm gonna push this back a week.)
Arch mage144: (Hm?)
Arch mage144: (Errr...)
Arch mage144: (Okay then)
DraconicKobold: (.....wait.)
Arch mage144: (If that's your prerogative o_o)
DraconicKobold: (.......I'd planned to get this done before Easter, but FD's
connection's acting up, which means not only that I'm short a person, but
that his character only gets one RP in. That's kinda not fair.)
Arch mage144: (*Nods* I understand.)
DraconicKobold: (I have two options. Either push this back a week and do it
then NO MATTER WHAT [even if aliens kidnap FD], or start without him
today and, if he doesn't make it, find a way for him to make it up in the
epilogue.)
DraconicKobold: (I ask for a vote from everyone here on this.)
Idran1701: (Let me look to see how I am homework-wise for next weekend. One sec.)
Arch mage144: (Silly aliens, kidnapping Alaskans.)
Idran1701: (OK, this weekend is much better for me than next, so I vote the latter. Unless this
pushing back would switch which sessions you'd want Greg for.)
DraconicKobold: (Actually, you know what? I can easily figure out a way to
get him the experience without the epilogue. By throwing a plot point
his way over a one-on-one RP.)
DraconicKobold: (So, is Kate still here?)
EternalDragonAya: (Yup!)
DraconicKobold: (Alright. I no longer wait. Please, take a few moments to
get yourselves in character.)
Idran1701: (All right.)
Arch mage144: (Oookay.)
Arch mage144: (Holy hell my eye hurts. BRB.)
DraconicKobold: (Also, noting your comment on the aliens, Brian.... kinda
borrowing the mention I made from a quote from my theater teacher.)
DraconicKobold: (Something like "If it's late, even if the Martians stole your
printer....")
Idran1701: (What if they just borrowed it?)
DraconicKobold: (I don't know, honestly.)
Idran1701: (Because I've found they're usually fairly trustworthy on these things. Though they tend to
clog the print head with iron dust.)
DraconicKobold: (When others are ready, let me know.)
Arch mage144: (Ooookay.)
Idran1701: (Really tough to clean, that.)
DraconicKobold: (Now, let me warn you people of something beforehand.
The stuff with FD has left me in a pissy mood, so if I wind up really evil
tonight, it's an attempt to reduce stress.)
Arch mage144: (Wonderful.)
DraconicKobold: (*now just waiting on Kate*)
EternalDragonAya: (I'm here >_> )
DraconicKobold: (Right.)
DraconicKobold: *so, after acquiring the second scroll, the group has moved
onward. It may have been noted that Valentia seemed to have slept a
little too much the night before the group reaches the next cave*
DraconicKobold has left the room.
EternalDragonAya: (XD)
DraconicKobold has entered the room.
Arch mage144: o.o We're here!
DraconicKobold: *once they get there, Araguchi makes the chocobos stop and
turns to Mikhais* You go in again. Gotta make sure things are sorted
out here.
DraconicKobold: *nodding before he hops off*
Idran1701: All right, what are we using for light this time? Just to get it out of the way now.
DraconicKobold: *starts to head to the cave in question, stopping at the
entrance - oddly, the entrance seems to be right into a room, with quite
a few lanterns around. A couple of them lit*
EternalDragonAya: Lots of caves o_o
DraconicKobold: *shrugs, peering into the entry room*
Idran1701: Well, it does make more sense than leaving the scrolls buried somewhere, or building
some fortress that people'd notice, you have to admit.
DraconicKobold: *of which I should note the entrance seems to be in a
corner, and there are other doors - one right across, another to its left,
and the others on the left wall*
Idran1701: *looks into the entry room himself*
Arch mage144: Yeah, that's true. Easier to remember but less obvious. o.o
Arch mage144: *peers in*
Arch mage144: Three routes...
Idran1701: Hmm.
DraconicKobold: *four actually; two on that left wall*
EternalDragonAya: More doors!
EternalDragonAya: Always doors in caves! Do not make sense!
Arch mage144: ...well, Sara, when people build underground fortresses I guess
they like to build doors...
Idran1701: Heh. Better than traps for us, at least.
Arch mage144: I don't know...
Arch mage144: What if the doors themselves are traps?
DraconicKobold: *the entry room is quite inviting - statues of what seem to
be anthropomorphic frogs along the side, with a chest between two of
them, and two nicely-decorated rugs of sorts on the floor*
DraconicKobold: *a little TOO inviting, perhaps?*
Idran1701: ...Did you have to say that? Now I'm all paranoid. >_>
Arch mage144: ...okay. I highly suggest we not touch that. o_o *points to the
chest*
DraconicKobold: Whah s'ch 'n 'rn'te 'ntry r'm?
Arch mage144: I'm afraid I don't know, Mikhais.
Idran1701: Give people false confidence, maybe?
Arch mage144: Or maybe whoever lives here doesn't like living in uncivilized
places. o_o;
DraconicKobold: *starts to slowly walk in, making sure to duck his head as he
does so*
Idran1701: That too. *examines the chest astrally*
DraconicKobold: *it's not the chest that's the problem..... it's the statues*
DraconicKobold: (Those noting the statues give me an Intuition check.)
EternalDragonAya: *astrally scans the room to make sure it's not haunted*
*OnlineHost*: Arch mage144 rolled 1 20-sided die: 17
*OnlineHost*: Idran1701 rolled 1 20-sided die: 4
EternalDragonAya: (What about an astral scan? should I roll?)
Idran1701: (Well, off to a better start this time, Brian. :D)
Arch mage144: (Considerably o_o)
DraconicKobold: (Nah, don't bother rolling for the astral scan. Same result as
Greg got.)
DraconicKobold: (As in, the statues are enchanted. Just how is hard to tell.)
DraconicKobold: (*waiting for Kate's Intuition roll*)
*OnlineHost*: EternalDragonAya rolled 1 20-sided die: 13
Idran1701: The chest doesn't look enchanted to me, but the statues are. How, exactly, I'm not sure,
though.
DraconicKobold: *Karis and Sara can swear one of those statues just blinked*
Arch mage144: !
EternalDragonAya: .....
EternalDragonAya: Er...
Arch mage144: ...Greg, I think they're not just statues...
Idran1701: Huh?
EternalDragonAya: I ...do not think those are =statues=
Arch mage144: I think they might be alive...!
Idran1701: ...Huh. o_o
DraconicKobold: *Mikhais seems to be trying to get a bit closer to one statue,
with one hand on one of his swords*
DraconicKobold: (Roll initiative.)
*OnlineHost*: Arch mage144 rolled 2 6-sided dice: 4 2
*OnlineHost*: Idran1701 rolled 2 6-sided dice: 4 1
Arch mage144: (13)
Idran1701: (8)
DraconicKobold: (Gimme a few moments.)
DraconicKobold has left the room.
DraconicKobold has entered the room.
*OnlineHost*: EternalDragonAya rolled 2 6-sided dice: 6 3
EternalDragonAya: (12)
DraconicKobold: (I still need a few minutes, okay?)
Arch mage144: (Sure)
DraconicKobold has left the room.
ChibiDracoLich17 has entered the room.
ChibiDracoLich17: (*sigh* STUPID CONNECTION!!!)
ChibiDracoLich17: (Okay, let's try this again.)
Arch mage144: (...oookay)
ChibiDracoLich17: *the four anthro frog statues darken in color, changing
from their stone-like tone to the tone of a bullfrog's skin. Those eyes
become blue as well* (Order is Karis, Golem D, Sara, Mikhais, Golems A
through C, Greg.)
EternalDragonAya: (I'm not last, wow!)
EternalDragonAya: (Ack, GOLEMS)
Arch mage144: Damn, look out Greg!
Arch mage144: *draws his .45 and takes a shot at one of the frogs nearest to
Greg, aiming for the creature's presumably very large and prominent head*
Idran1701: ...I honestly didn't expect _that_ to happen. o_o
ChibiDracoLich17: *despite their now-fleshy appearance, golems are still
golems, and the bullet doesn't exactly drop. However, Karis can tell that
there's some semblance of a weakness to such aiming by the way the
golem acts to it* (37 damage)
Arch mage144: *stares* They're not actually alive, though they sure look like it!
ChibiDracoLich17: *one of the other golems lashes a tongue out at Sara....
managing to wrap it around her arm and drag her close, where she gets
smacked hard by a fist* (23 damage, Sara is up)
EternalDragonAya: Not alive?
EternalDragonAya: (Sara: I've played DnD...if these are golems, we're fucked! RUN!)
Arch mage144: Sara! O_O
ChibiDracoLich17: (These golems are nowhere near as severe as the DnD
ones, I should note.)
ChibiDracoLich17: (Granted, they don't know that, but still.....)
EternalDragonAya: >_< LET GO!
EternalDragonAya: *grabs ahold of the tongue and casts frostbite on it!*
ChibiDracoLich17 has left the room.
DraconicKobold has entered the room.
DraconicKobold: (I hate this connection.)
DraconicKobold: (Did my last message get through, I.E. the result of the
Frostbite spell?)
Idran1701: (Nope.)
EternalDragonAya: (Nopppe)
DraconicKobold: *poor Sara. She now knows how a metal pole in winter
would feel when someone puts their tongue on it. In simpler terms, the
tongue is now frozen on to her* (20 damage to the golem)
EternalDragonAya: =DAMNIT!-=
Arch mage144: Sara!
EternalDragonAya: =I thought this just happened in movies!=
DraconicKobold: *Mikhais just rams his swords through the one Sara just cast
her spell on, one through the gut and the other through the middle of
the tongue*
DraconicKobold: *all three of the other golems move in on Mikhais, fists
lashing out..... Mikhais avoids the first, but the other two punches smash
into his side* (31 to Mik; Greg's up)
Idran1701: *draws his sword, slashing at the nearest golem*
EternalDragonAya: (Did Sara get freed?)
Arch mage144: Mikhais! Are you alright!?
DraconicKobold: (No, the stab didn't go through the correct way to sever the
tongue.)
DraconicKobold: *and despite his effort, the nearby golem avoids Greg, still
watching Mikhais* (Karis is up)
DraconicKobold: *wincing a bit* Ah'll b' fahne.
Arch mage144: (Can he get a clear shot at the one holding Sara?)
Idran1701: (brb)
DraconicKobold: (If Karis just moves a little bit to the side, sure.)
Arch mage144: *takes a step and fires again, noting the increased effectiveness of
aiming for the golem's head*
Idran1701: (OK, back.)
DraconicKobold has left the room.
DraconicKobold has entered the room.
DraconicKobold: (Truth is out. AIM did NOT stop sucking.)
EternalDragonAya: (Heh)
Arch mage144: (...for you, I suppose.)
EternalDragonAya: (Seems fine to me o_o;)
DraconicKobold: *Karis's shot is a bit off, but he still manages to hit in the
equivalent of the upper jaw* (31 damage)
Arch mage144: I won't let them hurt you if I can help it, Sara!
DraconicKobold: *that one, meanwhile, goes to punch Sara again.... Sara
swears she can hear something crack in her ribs as the fist hits* (29
damage, Sara's up)
Arch mage144: SARA!
EternalDragonAya: >__< AAHH!
EternalDragonAya: *clutches her side with her free arm*
Arch mage144: *grits his teeth*
Arch mage144: Leave her alone!
EternalDragonAya: *...and casts cure on herself to heal her wounds!*
DraconicKobold: *those wounds heal quite a bit, though not perfectly* (26
healed)
Arch mage144: Are you alright!?
EternalDragonAya: Help Karis!
Arch mage144: *taking aim for his next shot* Don't worry, I'll help you!
DraconicKobold: *Mikhais, staying near Sara, carves his blade across the first
one's back.... which makes it pull the tongue in reflex, where Mikhais
carves him again*
EternalDragonAya: (Is Sara free yet?)
DraconicKobold: *then an odd thing happens. The golem holding Sara
suddenly reverts to stone for a moment, during which the other golems
all concentrate on Mikhais*
DraconicKobold: *he avoids two of them, but just as the golem holding Sara
suddenly crumbles, leaving rubble, the third cracks Mikhais hard in the
chest, leaving him clutching it* (36 damage to Mik, Greg is up)
DraconicKobold: (And the crumbling will free Sara, as a note.)
EternalDragonAya: (Yay, free!)
Idran1701: *seeing what happened with Mikhais, Greg chops at the nearest exposed golem back*
DraconicKobold: *exposed indeed, as Greg catches one off guard. Although
it's chopped hard, its focus does not turn to Greg at all*
DraconicKobold: (35 damage, Karis is up)
Arch mage144: *teams up with Greg, altering his aim and taking a shot at the head
of the golem he just chopped at*
Arch mage144: Are you alright, Sara?
DraconicKobold: *as a note, it seems Mikhais can't take too much more
abuse*
EternalDragonAya: Chest hurt..
DraconicKobold: *meanwhile, Karis's bullet sinks right into the back of the
golem's head.... causing it too to revert to stone, eventually turning to
rubble just like the one that had been gripping Sara* (critical brings
golem down, Sara is up)
Arch mage144: Hah! Got him!
EternalDragonAya: *also notes that Mikhais is getting pretty bent out of shape...and goes
to heal him with cure, yay!*
DraconicKobold: *judging from his normal sturdiness, Mikhais's wounds aren't
healed as much as they should be, but they're still healed some* (25
healed)
DraconicKobold: *Mikhais just takes his time and concentrates a bit.....*
DraconicKobold: *unfortunately, the golems take this time to punch him
again. Both of them. And Sara's healing work is quickly removed by the
force of the punches.... it's odd Mikhais even got hit, judging from how
fast he's now moving*
DraconicKobold: (34 damage to Mik, Greg is up)
Idran1701: *chops again at the back of a golem*
DraconicKobold: *this time, however, the golem is ready for him, and swiftly
evades the chop. Still no real attention paid to Greg*
DraconicKobold: *cursing* D'mm'ty'n'styth'ngsj'stf'll'lre'dy!
DraconicKobold: (Karis is up)
Idran1701: (...Boy, Rivan accents are a lot harder to read when hasted.)
DraconicKobold: (Also, allow me to translate that hasted speech:
"Dammityounastythingsjustfallalready!")
DraconicKobold has left the room.
DraconicKobold has entered the room.
Arch mage144: *fires again at the head of the golem Greg attacked*
DraconicKobold: *Karis nails this one a little better, in the lower area
between the eyes - not right between, but just below that right-between
area* (47 damage, Sara's up)
EternalDragonAya: *Sara.....*
EternalDragonAya: *...runs off and hides*
Arch mage144: >.>
Arch mage144: o_o
Arch mage144: IM: Well that's one option.
Arch mage144: T2Sara: Be careful!
DraconicKobold: *Mikhais seems to get a glint in his eyes.....*
DraconicKobold: *suddenly picking up the speed, slashing hard twice... and
following up with what anyone watching would swear is a blade of
energy created by scraping the swords together*
DraconicKobold: *all aimed at the same golem Karis and Greg attacked. As
Mikhais continues to breathe deeply - well, as deeply as a hasted person
CAN breathe - that golem reverts to stone as well*
DraconicKobold: *just before it does, the last golem leaps at him headfirst,
but Mikhais evades quite swiftly with his newfound speed, causing the
golem to fall to the ground instead* (Greg's up)
Arch mage144: Hah, nice!
Idran1701: *slashes at the final golem*
DraconicKobold: D'n'tb'th'rw'thmehj'stg'tth'm! *Greg hits the last one fairly
well, particularly since it has a harder time evading when it's on the
ground* (24 damage, Karis is up)
Arch mage144: *tries to finish off the remaining golem with a shot*
DraconicKobold: *these golems are still pretty tough, and despite the fact it's
on the ground, the bullet only hits the side of the face* (31 damage)
DraconicKobold: *in a sudden snap of rage, Mikhais lashes, at the same time,
one sword into the last golem's back and the other into its head. Which
effectively takes care of it too, causing it to turn to stone and crumble
like the others*
DraconicKobold: *right then Mikhais stumbles to the ground, dropping his
swords in the process*
DraconicKobold: (Combat over.)
Idran1701: ...Are you allright? o_o
Idran1701: *alright
EternalDragonAya: *emerges from hiding*
Arch mage144: *flicks his pistol's barrel groundwards, snapping open the action
and dumping out casings*
DraconicKobold: *after a few moments* ....'ardly.
Arch mage144: Sara, can you heal him? I think Mikhais is really hurt...
DraconicKobold: Th'y 'it meh 'ard'r th'n ah tho't th'y wo'd.
Arch mage144: I'm sorry that had to happen...
EternalDragonAya: I heal more!
Arch mage144: (How Dragon Warrior.)
DraconicKobold: D'n't 'ave t' b' s'rry. 'T's th' fa'lt 'f the'r cr'at'r, n't y'.
Arch mage144: You have a point. *nods*
EternalDragonAya: *touches Mik and sends healing energy through him!*
DraconicKobold: *it's enough so that he can stably get on his feet, at least....
though he still seems quite beat up*
DraconicKobold: S' wh'ch w'y n'w?
Arch mage144: ...hm...
Arch mage144: One door's as good as another, right?
Idran1701: Well, should we check the chest first? I still don't see any magic on it.
DraconicKobold: *shrugs at this statement*
Arch mage144: Alright. o_o
Idran1701: *opens said chest carefully*
EternalDragonAya: *doo doo DOO!*
DraconicKobold: *here we go again with the coins.... quite a lot, and those
looking astrally can figure out the chest apparently can hide magic
pretty well, because deep in those coins are a couple of auras*
Idran1701: ...Well. o_o
Arch mage144: That's a lot of money. *blinks*
EternalDragonAya: =More money! Yay!=
Idran1701: *digs through the coins for the source of these auras*
Idran1701: They probably set this out to satisfy thieves, I'd guess. But that is a lot of money, there.
o_o
DraconicKobold: *the first one Greg finds is attached to.... a silver scarab
beetle on a golden chain. The aura's protective, but Greg can't figure
out in what way*
DraconicKobold: *Mikhais just walks over to look*
Idran1701: Well, this is protective in some way. *holds up the scarab necklace*
DraconicKobold: *looks to the necklace for a moment, then starts pocketing
coins from the chest*
Idran1701: *continues his digging*
DraconicKobold: (Dexterity check, Greg.)
EternalDragonAya: (O_o)
DraconicKobold: (Not gonna say why until he rolls.)
*OnlineHost*: Idran1701 rolled 1 20-sided die: 15
Idran1701: (...Yay? >_>;;)
DraconicKobold has left the room.
Arch mage144: (XD)
Arch mage144: (now we'll never know!)
EternalDragonAya: (XD)
DraconicKobold has entered the room.
DraconicKobold: *Greg notices Mikhais's hand suddenly stop.... and Mikhais
removes his arm from the chest, to find that his hand's gotten cut pretty
bad. Worse off, it's bleeding quite nastily.... like, for instance, a cut from
barbed wire would*
Idran1701: (...Cliffhangers make me sad. ;_;)
Idran1701: (As does bad timing in messages.)
DraconicKobold: *and from that, Greg discerns the source of the second
aura*
DraconicKobold: *Mikhais starts PANICKING like crazy*
Idran1701: ...o_o
Arch mage144: !
EternalDragonAya: o_O
Idran1701: (Normal AAH-PAIN panicking or odd, possibly magical panicking?)
DraconicKobold: (Normal panicking.)
Arch mage144: Holy...
Arch mage144: What's in there?
Idran1701: Some sort of barbed wire. o_o
DraconicKobold: (...really, how would YOU react if your hand got cut like
that?)
Arch mage144: ...barbed wire? o_O
Arch mage144: Mikhais, I...Sara, see if you can help him!
Idran1701: (Probably the same, honestly, but just wanted to clarify to be sure.)
Idran1701: *uses a charge from his ring*
EternalDragonAya: o_O How?
Arch mage144: o_o With your healing magic!
DraconicKobold: *Greg beat her to it - Mikhais's hand stops bleeding, but
there's a nasty scar on it*
Arch mage144: *shakes his head*
Arch mage144: Placate thieves by taking off their hands, evidently...
Idran1701: ...
EternalDragonAya: o_o;;
Idran1701: *tries pushing the chest over to empty it onto the ground*
DraconicKobold: *Mikhais's arm is tremoring a bit, albeit not magically.... and
as the chest empties out, coins spill all over, as well as a few gemstones,
plus what seems to be a longsword with what's best described as
serrated edges*
Idran1701: ...Guess it wasn't barbed wire after all. o_o
DraconicKobold: *the longsword is definitely the source of the aura*
Idran1701: *checks the grip of the sword, while trying to discern the magic's enchantment*
Arch mage144: ...I guess that's a bad thing to be grabbing with your fingers.
EternalDragonAya: Ugly sword..
Idran1701: *sword's enchantment
DraconicKobold: *the grip's just fine.... and the sword has some sort of
triggerable magic, which would prevent the wounds it cuts from
naturally ceasing to bleed. Thankfully it seems Mikhais didn't trigger
this magic*
Arch mage144: ("C'mon natural 20, daddy needs a new sword of wounding.")
Idran1701: ...Apparantly, it keeps wounds from healing naturally if you command it to. o_o
Arch mage144: o_o I suppose that has its uses...
Idran1701: (Can Greg tell if it's command word trigger or user's will trigger?)
DraconicKobold: *Mikhais stares at that blade angrily*
EternalDragonAya: (*cracks up at Brian*)
DraconicKobold: *Greg can seem to tell it's triggered by the user's will, but it
can only be done so often.... let's say three times in a given day*
DraconicKobold: *staring at his cut hand* Th're g'es h'ndl'ng tw' bl'des f'r th'
d'y.
Arch mage144: Gah.
DraconicKobold: *puts his swords away using his left hand - because the right
hand was the cut one*
EternalDragonAya: o_o;
EternalDragonAya: I just want shinies
Idran1701: I agree with Karis. Are you going to be all right?
DraconicKobold has left the room.
DraconicKobold has entered the room.
DraconicKobold: Ah'll b' ok'y.... j'st d'n't 'xp'ct meh t' h'ndl' tw' sw'rds 'n c'mb't
lahke y' s'w.
DraconicKobold: *gesturing with right hand to the coins and the few gems*
.....g'th'r th'm 'p, s' w' c'n g' f'rth'r int' th's pl'ce.
EternalDragonAya: o_o
EternalDragonAya: Huh?
Idran1701: *takes some coins and the sword*
DraconicKobold: *gesturing with his hand again, trying to indicate to Sara to
gather up the spilled shinies... doing it this way because he's figured out
she can't really understand him with his accent*
EternalDragonAya: o_o
EternalDragonAya: *shinies get!*
EternalDragonAya: *as in, she gathers them up*
DraconicKobold: 'S ah w's 'sk'ng.... wh'ch w'y t' g' n'w?
Arch mage144: Well, let's pick a door.
Arch mage144: They're all the same as far as we can tell unless we open them and
see what's on the other side.
Idran1701: *shrug* Given the other caves, probably most of these loop around to each other
eventually anyway.
EternalDragonAya: We won't take door this time will we?
DraconicKobold: *shrugs as well, staring a little too much at his cut hand all
the while*
DraconicKobold: *eventually he stares toward the two separated doors on
the side of the room farthest from where they had come in*
Idran1701: Sounds fine with me.
DraconicKobold: *starts heading over to those doors.... looking at each of
them, thinking of which one to go through*
DraconicKobold: IM: .....ah 'ATE th's......
DraconicKobold: *looking to the others*
Arch mage144: ...why would we take the door, Sara?
Arch mage144: *points to the door on the left*
Arch mage144: Let's try that one.
EternalDragonAya: Cause other took doors..
Arch mage144: ...well, that was a bit unusual.
Idran1701: ...Yeah, a bit. >_>
DraconicKobold: *Mikhais goes and opens the door.... which immediately
branches to the left and right*
Idran1701: ...You know...
DraconicKobold has left the room.
Idran1701: *just goes and opens each door*
DraconicKobold has entered the room.
Idran1701: *just goes and opens each door*
DraconicKobold: *actually, when I said left there, it isn't so much left as it is
forward*
DraconicKobold: *the second door comes easily....* (Roll an Agility check,
Greg.)
Idran1701: This might help the decision process a bit, if we can see where these first tunnel branches
are.
*OnlineHost*: Idran1701 rolled 1 20-sided die: 19
DraconicKobold: *on the third door, Greg starts to open it, but is quick
enough not to pursue it and instead to move as the floor in front of the
door opens into a fairly deep pit*
DraconicKobold: *fourth door is outright locked*
DraconicKobold: *and in that particular case, neither the lock nor the hinges
are on this side*
Idran1701: ...OK, maybe that was a bit stupid. >_>
DraconicKobold: *so down that second path, there's ANOTHER forward and
right branching*
Arch mage144: ...it's always mazes.
EternalDragonAya: And doors
DraconicKobold: An' n'sty th'ngs w'it'ng.
DraconicKobold: (That last word should probably be "wa't'ng", actually.)
Idran1701: (Well, "ai" in that word is a single phoneme, so probably w't'ng. >_>)
DraconicKobold: *still looking to the others, then to the doors, wanting them
to decide*
DraconicKobold: (*shrug*)
Arch mage144: Every door's as good as the last...
EternalDragonAya: Yeah..
Idran1701: ...So, first one, then if that dead-ends, second one, and so on?
Arch mage144: Right.
DraconicKobold: *shrugs again*
Idran1701: *grabs one of the lanterns and begins heading slowly through the first door down the left
path*
Arch mage144: (You know, I have one minor complaint. With all these caverns,
there've always been so many passageways and doors and routes that I lose
track of everything, period. o_o; )
EternalDragonAya: (Yeah o_o;;)
DraconicKobold: (Well, not just that that'd be the thing the keepers of the
scroll want in their caverns, but this is probably one of the few times
you'll see me using caverns like these for RP settings.)
Arch mage144: (Right, I understand that.)
DraconicKobold: (I'll explain how I came up with these maps when it comes
time for the epilogue.)
DraconicKobold: *after a while, the path Greg is on turns right, and there's
another door not ten feet from that turn*
Idran1701 has left the room.
Arch mage144: (Don't worry about it, I'm just commenting on how it makes things
a little hard to follow since we have no visuals to back things up.)
Idran1701 has entered the room.
DraconicKobold: *....correction on my directions, actually.*
Idran1701: (Sorry about that. >_>)
DraconicKobold: *after that turn I mentioned, there's actually a door some
twenty feet away, and another left branch of the path right before the
door*
DraconicKobold has left the room.
DraconicKobold has entered the room.
EternalDragonAya: *points to door*
Arch mage144: *nods* Yeah, through there.
DraconicKobold: *Mikhais has stayed to the back of the group, as a note*
Arch mage144: *opens the door!*
Idran1701: *checks inside*
DraconicKobold: *the main feature of the next room, besides its barren walls
and the doors I shall get to later, is a fairly large pile of treasure of
various sorts. Atop that treasure is what, from this side, appears to be a
large, blue.....*
DraconicKobold: *....and scaly lump of flesh*
EternalDragonAya: *doesn't look happy to see more monsters*
Idran1701: ...Huh. o_o
DraconicKobold: *the lump of flesh isn't moving, not even breathing,
however*
Arch mage144: ......
Arch mage144: *steps back and shuts the door*
EternalDragonAya: o__o;;;
Arch mage144: I don't know what that is, but I think we should probably avoid
messing with it.
Idran1701: Yeah, I'd agree with that. >_>
DraconicKobold: 'Sp'c'lly w'th th' sh'pe s'me 'f 's 're 'n.
Arch mage144: *heads back to the branching corridor*
EternalDragonAya: We have enough money. *nod*
DraconicKobold: *the first branching corridor, I take it? Or the one that was
nearest that door?*
Arch mage144: *the one nearest the door*
Idran1701: *moves towards the first one*
Idran1701: *or scratch*
Idran1701: (Sorry, starting to lag.)
DraconicKobold: *there's another door further up that path as well*
EternalDragonAya: *follows the leader!*
DraconicKobold: *Mikhais just sighs*
Idran1701: *listens at the door*
DraconicKobold: *there are voices. Apparently there's another group there,
though they don't seem to be residents of the cavern, judging from what
they're saying*
Arch mage144: ...*listens*
Idran1701: *w* There's someone inside, but it sounds like they don't live here.
Arch mage144: T2Greg: Is that so?
DraconicKobold: So, any luck on the treasure? Nah, man, that blue dragon there's
just nuts. What makes you think I'm dealing with it? Uh, Mac.... What? Its
aura's too detached to be a living blue dragon. It's just a golem, really.
DraconicKobold has left the room.
DraconicKobold has entered the room.
Idran1701: T2ThoseInTheParty: Glad we didn't stop in there, then.
DraconicKobold: ....do golems ever speak? Good point. And do they ever tell
riddles? Another point.
Arch mage144: T2Party: I wonder who that is in there?
DraconicKobold: ....hey hey hey, did anyone else hear voices all of a sudden?
They're just the doubts in our heads, Claude. Whatever, Chad.
Idran1701: T2Party: Treasure hunters, maybe?
Arch mage144: T2Party: Maybe...
Arch mage144: T2Party: But if there are treasure hunters down here, why'd they
leave that stuff in the entry room?
Idran1701: T2Party: Ran from the golems?
EternalDragonAya: o_o;
EternalDragonAya: *cannot communicate telepathically so is basically stuck listening*
Arch mage144: *motions for everyone to move away from the door*
Arch mage144: T2Party: We could always take the risk of trying to find out who
these people are and if they know anything.
DraconicKobold: *the door suddenly opens... and it's clear the adventuring group
behind that door is a bunch of rather slim lizardmen. The one who opened the
door is wearing heavy banded mail and carrying a sword in his right hand*
DraconicKobold: *turns* Hey, look what we have here. More runts after the treasure.
*the rest of the lizardmen laugh*
Arch mage144: *steps forward* Hello! *grinning cheerfuly*
EternalDragonAya: o___o;
Arch mage144: Don't mind us, we're not here to get in your way.
EternalDragonAya: *zips behind Karis*
DraconicKobold: *turns back* Well, what're you guys after around here?
Idran1701: ...If Rowan were here, he'd be insulted. >_>
DraconicKobold: *to Greg* Who now?
Idran1701: Hmm? Oh, nothing.
Arch mage144: Oh, not treasure, we're just looking around because the cavern
looked interesting from the outside.
Arch mage144: After all, it isn't every day that you come across a cave with an
ornate entryway!
DraconicKobold: Now that's just bullshit. C'mon, there's something you gotta be here
for.
Arch mage144: Well, what are you here for?
DraconicKobold: We were after treasure. Were, that is, until.... *turns* Hey Chad,
what was the cat guy's name again? Derrimarcommiv. At least that's what
the other guys called him. Right. *turns back to Karis*
Arch mage144: ...Derrimarcommiv. Wow, that's a terribly long name. What did he
do?
Idran1701: T2Karis: ...Style of that name sounds familiar.
DraconicKobold: That cat guy seemed to be guarding something REAL valuable. Find
it odd that where he keeps the thing is in an area exposed to the light. Claims he's
a Spirit of Repose, and we tried to challenge him for the thing.
Arch mage144: What happened?
DraconicKobold: Almost lost Derek, Birza, and Korna while fighting him. Claude
there's tending to them now.... *gesturing to a stout lizardman in leather armor and
apparently glowing hands*
Arch mage144: *glances over and nods*
DraconicKobold: Derrimarcommiv says there's two ways to get what he guarded.
Either show him both the pendants or defeat him. Problem is one of those
pendants is guarded by a dragon. And the other's guarded by some sort of odd
frog golems.
Arch mage144: Hmm...
Arch mage144: *shakes his head*
Arch mage144: I don't know what to say about that.
Arch mage144: Why don't you take it from the dragon?
EternalDragonAya: o_o;
DraconicKobold: Good luck. Claude keeps claiming it's really a golem, but since when
do golems speak and tell riddles? And we got all the riddles wrong.... though I
swear we GAVE the right answers.
DraconicKobold has left the room.
DraconicKobold has entered the room.
DraconicKobold: Honestly, if you want to try to get whatever it was from
Derrimarcommiv, you have more chance fighting him direct.
EternalDragonAya: Karis what is a riddle?
Arch mage144: Hm...
Arch mage144: A riddle is a kind of guessing game or puzzle...
Arch mage144: You have to solve it by naming what it describes or asks about.
DraconicKobold: I warn you that the dragon's riddles are trick riddles. Where you
think the answer's one thing and it's really something else altogether.
Arch mage144: o.o Well, I appreciate your advice.
DraconicKobold: You wanna take your chances with Derrimarcommiv or with that
dragon?
Arch mage144: Well, I'm not sure.
Idran1701: What'd the dragon do when you gave the wrong answers?
DraconicKobold: *suddenly, Claude's looking toward the door* I've heard
quite a thing about what that Derrimarcommiv guy's guarding. It would've
attacked us had we not left the room immediately.
Arch mage144: What did you hear?
DraconicKobold: Heard some mention it was something he stole off a guy
called the Warper. Derrimarcommiv questioned us as to whether we
were allied with either him or some freak named Flamewing.
Arch mage144: o_o I see...
Arch mage144: Well, I hope you manage to get out of here alright with your
wounded friends.
DraconicKobold: Well then, my question still stands. Try the cat guy or the dragon?
Arch mage144: I suppose I might go talk to that dragon.
DraconicKobold: There was a door to its lair back a ways on the path you came from.
Arch mage144: *nods*
DraconicKobold: Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got to try and help my friends pull
through here.
Arch mage144: Alright.
Arch mage144: *salutes the lizardman and his companions*
Arch mage144: Best of luck to you.
DraconicKobold: *waves and heads away from the door, closing it as he does so*
DraconicKobold: 'E s'd b'ck 'n th' p'th w' w'r' 'n. Y' s'pp'se 't w's th' b'g sc'ly
l'mp?
EternalDragonAya: o_o
EternalDragonAya: We going to do riddles?
Idran1701: *once the group is out of sight* You're fairly good with diplomacy, Karis. That went
much better than I thought it would.
DraconicKobold: *stares at his hand again*
Idran1701: Anyway, yeah, the riddles sound like the best option.
Arch mage144: Yeah, let's try it!
Arch mage144: *heads down to the dragon room*
Idran1701: *follows*
EternalDragonAya: *follows!*
DraconicKobold has left the room.
DraconicKobold has entered the room.
Arch mage144: *pulls the door open*
DraconicKobold: *once they're inside said room, on different sides of the
lump's body, it's indeed more clearly a dragon. Though its eyes don't
suggest a vacant stare, the thing does not seem to be breathing or even
trying to*
Arch mage144: *steps into the room*
Arch mage144: Hello!
DraconicKobold: *the dragon lifts its head... and in a fairly low voice* What
have you come for?
Arch mage144: I have come seeking the pendant you guard!
DraconicKobold: *also, some of the more specific treasure in that pile,
besides coins, that they can see is a pair of silver hairpins, a sort of
coppery chamber pot, a gold ring, a couple potions, and a fire opal
pendant*
Arch mage144: (Since when do chamber pots count as treasure?)
DraconicKobold: (Let me describe the chamber pot.)
Idran1701: (Maybe it's a chamber pot of holding! :D)
Arch mage144: (...I don't need a description of the chamber pot. Has it been used?
*chuckles*)
DraconicKobold: (The answer is no, and frankly the designs on the sides of
the copper chamber pot, which are of rampant dragons, would count as
artwork, really.)
Arch mage144: (Aha.)
DraconicKobold: *pointing to the fire opal pendant* That pendant? You
must answer my riddles first. Three you get.
Arch mage144: *nods*
Arch mage144: I shall try.
Idran1701: ...Can I ask a question first? >_>
DraconicKobold: ....what is it?
Idran1701: How do you count answers that aren't what you intended but that fit the riddle itself
anyway?
DraconicKobold: You have to get what I intend the answer to be, and that's
not everything that fits. So the first riddle.
DraconicKobold: Ruby, topaz, emerald, sapphire, onyx, amethyst. One gem is
missing from that list. What is it?
Arch mage144: T2Greg: Diamond?
EternalDragonAya: (The answer is..pokemon red and blue!)
Idran1701: T2Karis: Sounds good to me, but he also didn't say pearl. >_>
Arch mage144: Diamond!
Arch mage144: *goes with his instinct*
DraconicKobold: .......incorrect. The answer is garnet.
Idran1701: T2Karis: Maybe we should have each come in seperately, without letting him know we
were together.
DraconicKobold: (I'll explain these riddles when we are done.)
Arch mage144: IM: Shit.
EternalDragonAya: o_o;
DraconicKobold: ....let's move on. Beauty and fear are most associated with
this evil creature, but beauty more so.
EternalDragonAya: o_O
Idran1701: T2Karis: Succubus?
Arch mage144: T2Greg: o_o;; I have no idea.
EternalDragonAya: o_o =That's really vague. That could be anything!=
Idran1701: T2Karis: Maybe we should consider for a while first. Last one felt like there was some
trick to the question. >_>
Arch mage144: T2Greg: Well I don't know very much about monsters...
DraconicKobold: (I'll cut a break here. Wisdom checks I ask for.)
*OnlineHost*: Arch mage144 rolled 1 20-sided die: 20
Arch mage144: (Yoda you are)
Arch mage144: (I guess Karis lied)
EternalDragonAya: (PWNED)
Idran1701: (Should I even roll now? >_>)
DraconicKobold: (Go ahead, I say.)
*OnlineHost*: Idran1701 rolled 1 20-sided die: 16
DraconicKobold: *it comes to Karis's mind first after some critical thinking,
but eventually Greg is reminded of the same thing. There's a specific
phrase to go with this riddle*
EternalDragonAya: (Wow, that's helpful. >_>)
DraconicKobold: *The phrase goes: "Beauty is in the eye of the...."*
Arch mage144: ...oh!
Arch mage144: It's a beholder!
Arch mage144: General Silver told me about them once.
Idran1701: (Just as a question, was the gem one related to a rainbow? For the colors of them?)
EternalDragonAya: =Karis, what the heck is a= beholder? o_O
DraconicKobold: (Yes. And yes indeed, there are orange garnets. I looked it
up.)
Arch mage144: (...but there's no black in the rainbow.)
DraconicKobold: (I don't know what gems are indigo, so I used black
instead.)
Arch mage144: (...ah.)
Idran1701: (Actually, I didn't know what color garnets were at all. Or topaz. And I'm not sure for
amethyst, but I'm thinking yellow. >_>)
Arch mage144: (Purple.)
EternalDragonAya: (Amythest is purple)
Idran1701: (Ah.)
EternalDragonAya: (Rose quartz is pink)
DraconicKobold: (And topaz is yellow, I believe.)
DraconicKobold: Very good. One more, then. *thinking a bit*
DraconicKobold: What creature trades its life for a lasting sting to someone
they hate?
Arch mage144: T2Greg: Oh, this is easy. A bee!
DraconicKobold: (Can you believe the lizardmen did NOT get this one?)
Idran1701: T2Karis: ...Probably!
Arch mage144: A bee!
EternalDragonAya: (They must have never seen bees)
Arch mage144: (BEES)
EternalDragonAya: (XD)
Idran1701: (I wish they'd have told us the right answers, though. :D)
EternalDragonAya: (*is laughing really really hard now*)
Arch mage144: (Hooray for running inside jokes)
Idran1701: (I'm remembering that strategy for the next riddle oracle, by the way. Split the group in
half, first half goes in, if they mess up, they tell the right answers to the second group.)
DraconicKobold: Very well. *pushes the fire opal pendant, which does seem
to have an aura, down to where the others can reach it* This is yours
now. Might I ask what you sought the pendant for?
DraconicKobold has left the room.
Arch mage144: (I guess you never get to know now!)
DraconicKobold has entered the room.
Idran1701: *just to be difficult* Yes.
Arch mage144: If you wish.
Arch mage144: o.o
DraconicKobold: .....well what was it you wanted it for, then? Usually people
seek either the hairpins or the ring.
Arch mage144: Ah, well, we need to show it to someone.
Arch mage144: He challenged us to get it from you.
Idran1701: ...Why would they want the hairpins? Seems like an odd item to ask for. o_o
DraconicKobold: .....hmmm.... probably those lizard guys that came answering
not too long ago. And I seriously don't know why the hairpins.
EternalDragonAya: =You need to tell me what a= beholder = is later, Karis=
Idran1701: Better than the chamber pot, I guess. >_>
Arch mage144: Oh, well, I don't really know exactly, Sara...
Arch mage144: It's a creature that floats and has a lot of eyes o.o
EternalDragonAya: O_o
Idran1701: If it were me, I'd have a hard time giving the riddles after such a request, what with the
laughter and all.
EternalDragonAya: Okay.
DraconicKobold: I don't feel humor the same way. Why it's so is something I
dare not explain.
Idran1701: IM: ...Well, that's awfully dramatic.
DraconicKobold: ....I sense the other one in the area. Are you planning to use
them to get something from Mark?
Arch mage144: Mark?
DraconicKobold: Panther nekojin of sorts. Actually a sort of spirit, but he's
guarding something nasty.
DraconicKobold: He once told me he really has a longer name and just prefers
to be called Mark.
Arch mage144: Aha. I'll remember that!
DraconicKobold: *also as a reminder, that fire opal pendant - which is on a
golden chain - has some sort of aura attached to it*
DraconicKobold: You want to talk to the guy?
EternalDragonAya: o_o;;;
Arch mage144: Yes, I would. *nods*
Idran1701: Yeah. >_>
DraconicKobold: *has just been watching all of this, really*
DraconicKobold: *points to a door on the side opposite that which the group
came in* Head in there, follow the path till it splits, then go left and
immediately right. Keep going straight until you can go left again, and
you'll clearly see it.
Arch mage144: Alright. *nods* Thanks!
DraconicKobold: *nods as best as a dragon can*
Arch mage144: *heads in the direction indicated by the dragon!*
Idran1701: *follows*
DraconicKobold: *Mikhais just follows, taking back position again.... after
following those directions and turning a corner after the final left they
mention.... they can see a room that, for once, has openings in the cave
wall instead of doors*
DraconicKobold: *this is, of course, a ways in. And there's light shining from
higher in the room.... which seems to have a rather large hole in its
ceiling to allow the aforementioned light in*
DraconicKobold has left the room.
DraconicKobold has entered the room.
Arch mage144: Hm. o_o
Arch mage144: *enters the room*
Idran1701: *hands the first pendant to Karis* It'd probably be better for one person to hold on to
both for this.
Arch mage144: *nods*
Arch mage144: *puts both pendants around his neck*
Idran1701: *then follows into the room*
DraconicKobold: *most of the ground in that room seems to actually be
dug-up earth. Laying in the center on a stone circle of sorts is a panther
nekojin wearing bluish pants. Its arms are wrapped around a small box*
DraconicKobold: *the box being a cube of sorts about one foot on each side*
DraconicKobold: *the panther guy's just sleeping*
Arch mage144: Excuse me...
EternalDragonAya: =Aww, he looks so cute when he's asleep..
DraconicKobold: *moves a bit. Doesn't exactly awaken to Karis's speech, but
his tail swishes a bit*
Idran1701: ...Well, I guess even guardian spirits need their sleep. >_>
Arch mage144: Um...sir?
DraconicKobold: *ears twitch, and the panther awakens a little bit* ....eh?
What lad's got the nerve to disturb my slumber?
DraconicKobold: *just YAWNS*
Arch mage144: *holds out the two pendants* I've brought these.
DraconicKobold: ......well well, someone actually pulled it off. Better hope for
both our sakes it's not one of the Warper's agents.... though if they'd
tried I doubt they'd ever get through.
DraconicKobold: Kinda what Kazkor's riddles are for. Weeding out the bad
people.
Arch mage144: *nods* Well, I'd like to think I'm a good one.
Idran1701: ...Really? How does that work? o_o
EternalDragonAya: =So cuuuute=
DraconicKobold: Really, a lot of the bad people don't have the intellect to get
the answer Kazkor seeks two or more times in a series. Also a specific
answer tends to remove luck from the question.
Arch mage144: Huh. I see. o_o
DraconicKobold: (Question. Did I ever establish the riddling dragon's
gender?)
Arch mage144: (No)
DraconicKobold: (Right.)
Idran1701: (Don't think anyone checked.)
DraconicKobold: I pity him. Poor guy.... after I had trouble with ole
Flamewing I came across the soul of this guy. Was kinda too late to
resurrect him, and beyond my power, but I fancy myself a good golem
crafter.
Arch mage144: *nods* So you put him in the dragon golem?
DraconicKobold: I dare say, he was one of the few willing dragon souls to
accept being in a dragon golem.
EternalDragonAya: =What is he yakking about?=
Idran1701: Huh.
DraconicKobold: Couple others I did as well... sent them to Neclidoriun... our
purposes are similar after all.
Idran1701: He's another guardian spirit, I take it?
DraconicKobold: Say, I kinda wonder how the other two are doing.
DraconicKobold has left the room.
DraconicKobold has entered the room.
DraconicKobold: Neclidoriun ain't no ordinary guardian spirit, no. He and I
broke free of the Warper once, helping a couple of others out as well.
DraconicKobold: It's the Warper's fault I even have a solid body to deal with.
Arch mage144: Hmm. *nods at this*
Arch mage144: T2Sara: The other guardians and stuff.
DraconicKobold: So, with that out, did you come for what I think you did?
EternalDragonAya: Oh.
Arch mage144: Yes, sir.
Idran1701: *nods*
DraconicKobold: Let me ask, you had any dealings with any of the other
scrollkeepers?
Idran1701: Two of them, yes.
DraconicKobold: Force of muscle or force of words?
DraconicKobold: *absolutely baffled by that one*
Idran1701: ...You mean did we fight or negotiate? If so, the second one. o_o
Arch mage144: Indeed, as best possible. o.o
DraconicKobold: .....well, I think I can trust you not to be with anyone nasty.
I mean, you got past the challenge I put forth and had dealings with
others.
DraconicKobold: My work here is kinda done, unless Kazkor wants me to help
him move his treasure out. Dunno if he wants to, because a lot of people
don't like dragon golems.
DraconicKobold: *hands the box over to Karis*
Arch mage144: Thank you. *nods and bows, taking the box*
Idran1701: T2Karis: You know, I'm honestly surprised these guardians haven't been going with us to
make sure the scrolls are safe. >_>
Arch mage144: T2Greg: o_o That's a good point.
DraconicKobold: Well, unless you've got any other questions, I gotta go have
a talk with Kazkor.
Idran1701: IM: ...Ah, I'll ask.
Idran1701: Actually, I've got one. <_<
DraconicKobold: ....yes?
Idran1701: Why haven't you and the others been going with us, to watch the scrolls and make sure
no one takes them from us or anything like that?
DraconicKobold: Maybe we have and you haven't noticed.
Idran1701: ...
Idran1701: IM: Yep, there's that paranoia again.
DraconicKobold: You'll find out the answer to that in due time.
DraconicKobold: Anything else?
Arch mage144: I have no questions. ^^
EternalDragonAya: *shakes head*
DraconicKobold: All right then. Time for me to go talk to Kazkor. If you need
an exit from this place, go ahead and follow me.
DraconicKobold: *starts heading for an exit opposite the way the group
entered*
Arch mage144: Well, I guess we can go now, right?
Idran1701: Don't see any reason why not.
DraconicKobold has left the room.
DraconicKobold has entered the room.
DraconicKobold: (Okay, before I get too far.... experience awards. 700 base,
plus 350 for all the negotiations and 100 for the riddles.)
Arch mage144: (Huzzah, 1150)
DraconicKobold: (Also: Kate, did you wind up recording your experience from
last session, or did you wind up missing it?)
DraconicKobold: (Because I get the impression from your sheet that you
missed the number.)
EternalDragonAya: (I think I missed it)
DraconicKobold: (Last time your total was 1100, Kate.)
EternalDragonAya: (Ahh *notes*)
DraconicKobold: (One levelup pending for certain.)
DraconicKobold: *shrugs* M'y 's w'll 'ead o't.
EternalDragonAya: (Huzzah!)
DraconicKobold: *so how do they leave? Backtracking?*
EternalDragonAya: *backtracking YES*
Idran1701: *Sure*
DraconicKobold: (Right. So, next bit. Treasure rewards. Who's going to
wind up keeping the pendants?)
DraconicKobold: (No person can get the effects of both at the same time,
which is why I ask.)
Idran1701: (Since Greg got the sword, I'd be fine with Karis and/or Sara having them.)
Idran1701: (Say, for that sword: Are the serrations jutting out of the blade, or is it like parts are cut
out? Because I was wondering if it'd fit in the scabbard he already has.)
Arch mage144: (Karis already has a pendant, so he won't keep either)
DraconicKobold: (Ah, yes, the sword. Seems cut-out parts. 13/17/20, -0/+1
AT/PA, and, three times per day, a given wound bleeds freely, causing
10% of the damage dealt by said attack in bleeding damage each
round.)
DraconicKobold: (that bleeding lasts until magical healing is applied.)
EternalDragonAya: (Sword of wounding!)
DraconicKobold: (Anyway, the effects of the pendants. The scarab provides a
+10 to checks made to resist petrification [and petrification only; it does
not help against random-effect spells that wind up on petrification].)
DraconicKobold: (The fire opal pendant grants an effective +3 modifier to
Intuition. It must be activated and lasts half an hour, and it can
generate this effect once per day.)
DraconicKobold has left the room.
DraconicKobold has entered the room.
DraconicKobold: (Anything else I need to take care of?)
EternalDragonAya: (Hmmm)
DraconicKobold: (Oh, that's right, treasure amounts. Let's say 750 gold
pieces for each.)
Idran1701: (All right.)
DraconicKobold: (So since Karis doesn't want the pendant, which one will
Sara take? I guess I'll have Mikhais take the left-over one.)
DraconicKobold: (*doesn't want either pendant, I mean)
DraconicKobold: (*waiting for Kate's ultimate decision on which pendant*)
DraconicKobold: (Also, there any way I can get a log of this, since my
connection crapped out so much?)
EternalDragonAya: (Gimme the int pendant :D)
Idran1701: (Mine did too in the middle, so I'd have a bit missing.)
DraconicKobold: (Right, got it.)
Idran1701: (Otherwise I'd send you one. >_>)
DraconicKobold: (Brian? Kate? Either of you willing to send a log of this?)
EternalDragonAya: (Make Brian do that!)
Arch mage144: (OK, OK)
