* It is Autumn in Deep Forest *
This means that while it's still warm, it's starting to get colder as well. The chance for rain increases with every day as the leaves at the edges of the forest start to change color. The trees closest to the center of the forest, and near the Meadow of Peace and the River however remain green and lush.
ANNOUNCEMENTS

*** ~ November 24th '06 ~ Today Autumn has come to Deep Forest! ***
All summer threads will be moved to the archives, and you can start new RP threads that take
place at least two days after the plague was cured! This is to ensure continuity ^_^
In honor of the occasion I have given the board a new look and few touch ups here and there!
I have also added something that should remove the problems people were having with unread icons
disappearing prematurely. You can now also bookmark a post within a thread by clicking a little
icon in the upper right corner of each post. There will be some more small changes like these,
but I haven't had the time yet so far ^_^ I'll probably tweak the board's appearance in the week
to come as well, but odds are you won't even notice it, lol. Another thing I'll be adding is links
in people's custom titles that lead straight to their character's profile! And finally, we have a
newly updated forest map made by Griatch (thank you!), so check it out ^_^

Sam... didn't have a single clue as to what to do in order to help the Lady act out Isaac's story. So he did the next best thing. He first let the Alessandra do the acting while he listened for descriptions, then he slowly spun his magic's. Forms began to appear along with Alessandra. They changed into the characters she herself was not playing as, and instead they interacted with her as the situation called for it. Sam smiled to himself, these illusions were see-through, good for story telling. It used up a smaller amount of his magic then full illusions, and they were colorful and vibrant at the same time.

Sam didn't really do anything visibly, but the stone in his chest was glowing in fact, he remained quiet during the story and changed things as they needed to be. Yet at all times the small mouse was very careful not to scratch Alessandra. Not once did his claws do more the perhaps tickle her skin, and not even badly at that. He kept his tail out where it needed to be.

Sam found the story interesting, and as a spy his mind tried to put things off into their little pockets, but as a friend he forced them to remain unsorted. So he enjoyed listening to the story, the good, and the bad. The lighting with his characters changing as the story progressed, taking on the proper moods of the ones told in the story.

This is nice. He thought. Just some friends, telling and acting a story... I think the three of us will probably remain friends for some time. Or so I hope.

Isaac smiled at the illusions provided by their small friend. He was coming more and more to appreciate his audience. They seemed so determined to participate in the tale, and their enthusiasm was more than a little flattering.

"Elaith moved his operations to a frontier continent where he would be more difficult to track and control. Once again he hunted down his lady love, and brought her against her will to his new base of operations. These young adventurers followed him there, short one ally and friend, but firm in their resolve to defeat this monster of a necromancer who had caused so much suffering."

"The villain razed much of the continent, his armies of withered corpses marching over the lives of settlers and natives alike. The young heroes came to a forest much like this one, inhabited by druids sympathetic to their cause. There they came face to face with their old friend Ardam, not only alive and well, but still fighting the good fight." He smiled.

Part of the reason he told this story was that he himself was pleased with the boy. He occasionally worried that his daughter's naivete would lead her into danger, would let others take advantage of her goodwill and innocence.

He had been concerned by stories that she had taken up with a rather militaristic and violent group of people, but on closer investigation, his concerns were unwarranted. While she certainly gave people the benefit of the doubt when perhaps this was unwise... her faith in the people she'd met seemed justified. If Isaac were not totally sure of Holly's ability to care for herself, he'd never have left Gaera to explore this plane.

Luckily for Isaac, he could, he had, and now there was a new audience at hand, waiting for more of his story.

"After their reunion, they found that Corrigan, the dark knight betrayer they'd previously defeated, had joined up with Elaith's forces and been embraced by a vampire. He was now more than ever... their enemy. Worse still in the mind of the ninja Myrnal was that Corrigan was accompanied on the battlefield by Elaith's apprentice, the very man who had taunted and manipulated them with his reports of Ardam's death."

"The battle was fought in a ruined temple, the very earth and trees around the altar soaked with evil and the malice of the god who was honored there long ago. The sight of her enemy drove Myrnal into a rage, and even killing the betrayer Corrigan could not slake her bloodlust. She turned to the wizard's apprentice. Ardam himself was the one who ended Sakhiel's life, but that was not enough for her. She thew his body onto the altar, cutting out his lying tongue and burning his body right there."

Isaac paused. Part of him always wondered what could drive a person to such extremes of rage, and he always ended up resigning himself to his ignorance. Certainly if he had been told the same about his daughter, he would react as any father would. But upon finding the reports to be false... Isaac couldn't imagine himself being anything but joyful. How could anyone be so attached to another person that she would sacrifice a man in such a place for a crime he only claimed to have committed?

He sighed. He was distracting himself, and had better get moving with the tale.

"The god honored at that temple was the god of hate, unfortunately for Sakhiel and perhaps more unfortunately for the girl who had called him up. He offered her power in exchange for her service. After her repeated refusals, the dark god retreated. For the time being."

The Jester grinned broadly at the hazy illusions the mouse were conjuring up. Not having to act all the parts herself anymore she swirled around the magical images like a dervish, her face, body and manners changing and contorting as she switched between the characters currently in focus in the story.

She danced in stomping walz with the flickering image of Elaith's reluctant love, round and round and round, until it was less then a dance and the Jester was more of an animal stomping on the ground -- the continent -- below it, her body twisting into the arrogant stance of the necromancer.

Over to the heroes, she sommersaulted, walking cautiously, looking above her at the hazy images Samuel was conjuring around her. It was not clear which of the heroes she was, but she showed great joy when they were reunited with their friend they had thouight lost. Once again she swirled into dance, and this time it was the rythmic dance of druids, dancing and singing praise to nature itself. The Jester spun around herself, as if she really held hands with the illusions around her, dancing faster and faster until she was no longer a druid but the spinning dark vampire, curled and snarling, her hands stretched out to form a looming figure, the tentacles of her hat falling in front of her face like the caricature of a cape.

Vaulting back and forth in the heat of battle, Alessandra made a completely furious face, the face of an angry young warrior long ago. Snarling, she stabbed the vampire through its imaginary heart before performing an unholy sacrifice in the air, aided in spooky silence by the imagery of Samuel. Showing the fear of Sakhiel as the god of Hate took him had the Jester formally turning in on herself, folding away into a small ball as the god retreated back to wherever it had come from, taking the betrayer with it into the darkness.

Then she unfolded, the anguish on her face fading into a broad encouraging smile again. "You're doing great, Sam!" she whispered to the mouse. "You have such a wonderful imagination! I was really spooked by that dark god image you put up at the end! Her breathing came a little faster, but apart from that she seemed unaffected by her acrobatics. Hunching on one leg, her other leg outstretched into the air, Alessandra looked up at the elf, urging him to continue.

"The young heroes continued in their journey, hunting down Elaith's subordinates and forging alliances where they could. When they left the druid village that had sheltered their friend, they were followed by one of the druids. She did not make her presence known for some time, keeping to the shadows and following them at night."

"Elaith rallied his army. Hordes of undead under his command were joined by wicked humanoids of every variety. Our heroes tracked an unnamed subordinate of the necromancer to a subterranean drow city. These drow, like many of their kind on our world, were devout followers of Nikumu, the god of hate himself. Engaged in combat with a unit of warriors and Nikumian clerics, our heroes cut them down only to be faced with a full army of warriors, wizards, clerics, and enslaved combatants. The room was still for many long moments."

Isaac paused for a breath, allowing the taut stillness of this standoff to bleed into the air between him and his audience.

"Their leader stepped forward, a cleric. He turned to Myrnal. He apologized for the actions of his men, and as a gesture of his reverence for one who had, as he put it, 'seen the face of God,' he and all his army knelt on bended knee. He apologized that she was attacked, but for her companions... no apology."

"What could they do? Upon her reluctant acceptance of his apology, the army withdrew, leaving Myrnal shaken and her friends confused."

"These drow were harboring the unnamed subordinate of Elaith Thenswick, and eventually the party found their way to him. Their passage was somewhat eased by the fact that one of their number was an object of some reverence because of her contact with their divine patron."

"They found themselves face to face with Sakhiel. He explained that his plan had been to offer up to Nikumu a fine sacrifice: several young heroic warriors. The altar had been for them. He had wanted the attention of the god of hate for himself, and more disturbingly, had wanted the power of the god of hate for himself. It had been his plan to gain Nikumu's favor and blessing, to be used to overturn the dominion of his master. Myrnal had rejected the very thing that Sakhiel had been counting on: the power to defeat Elaith Thenswick."

"After his death, Sakhiel had been claimed by the god of hate, and it took Elaith a great deal of propitiation and ingratiation to persuade the god to relinquish his prize. Eventually Sakhiel was brought back, but his plans to supplant his master had not left his mind. Disgusted by his master's obsession with this woman, Genevive, and certain that Elaith was incapable of realizing the potential of the orbs, Sakhiel wanted them for himself."

"He offered the party his assistance in stopping Elaith, provided both orbs were turned over to him when the battle was done. As you can imagine, the party was largely uninterested in this plan, as Sakhiel was likely to be at least as serious a problem as his master."

"There was no deal. The party left, and one of their first actions was certainly a credit to the twisted humor of adventuring young people. They wrote Elaith a letter, suggesting to him that he keep an eye on his apprentice. Their only reply was a short note, the words 'thank you' written in blood."

Sorry if I jump in again, Blue, I thought it might be easier for you to respond to Alessandra rather than trying to predict her actions beforehand.
-----------

As Isaak continued his tale, Alessandra blinked at the mouse and unfolded herself again. She tookgreat joy walking with an imaginary druid's staff, looking around corners like she was stalking someone.

Once again the Jester bounced back and forth fencing in the air, kicking, shadow-boxing and even biting like a madman at the flickering imagery that Samuel was throwing into the mix all around her..Then she froze in the middle of a movement; just as Isaak took his dramatic pause. Standing on one foot foot with the other one in the air above her head, the only thing that moved was her eyes rather humorously flicking from side to side to the combattants in the coflict, assumed to stand on each side of her.

From this position she began hugging herself in a definately far more affectionate greeting than the drow would ever bestow on anyone, having seen a god or not. She almost got distracted into a kissing contest between the two groups before Isaak's story pushed her onward.

As Sakhiel returned again, the Jester looked delighted by the surprising twist in the story. She made a great show of Sakhiel looming over the heroes, looking grim and somehow distorting her face into someone that returned from the dead. She silently gesticulated and argued with herself for a while until she merrily sat down on her haunches, grabbed a quill of air and solemly wrote a letter she blew away with a kiss.

"You hear that, Samuel?" Alessandra giggled to the mouse. "They sent a letter! To the bad guy! I would never have thought of that. This is a great story! I hope that nasty Sakhiel guy got his due. I'm actually starting to like this necro-guy too. Say what you will about his social skills, but he sure as a flair for drama, you have to give him that. "

"The young adventurers, keen to beat Thenswick to the only other orb as powerful as the one he currently possessed, tracked down the dragons guarding it. Unwilling to hand over an item so powerful and so easily-abused without assurance of the group's character, the dragons divulged information regarding the current location of Elaith's new apprentice, a half-dragon that had been chosen to replace Sakhiel. If they could bring his head to the guardians of the orb, and it would be considered a worthy gesture of goodwill."

"The party agreed to this, and before they could begin their pursuit, it became evident that the god of hate had not lost interest in the situation. He contacted Myrnal once more, demanding that she choose the power he could give her, or remain with the side of the god of freedom. She chose freedom, and the dark lord told her that she would only be given a choice until he got tired of waiting. There would come a time, and soon, when he simply made use of her abilities, whether she wanted him to do so or not."

"She decided that it was safest for the others if she left, drawing the attention of Nikumu away from her allies. Certainly she could not be trusted with the powerful artifacts at stake. She stayed for the battle with Elaith's new apprentice, and left them immediately afterward."

"They brought the head of the apprentice to their dragon allies, only to find that they had already given the orb away. One of Elaith's other subordinates had beaten them there, impersonating the one ally no one could account for: Myrnal. The chase was on to beat the imposter back to her master."

"They reclaimed the orb, and made contact with Thenswick. Mutual disdain was exchanged, and Elaith was secure in the knowledge that his enemies would never use the orb to its fullest potential, as they were allied with the god of freedom, and considered themselves above such means. Even if it meant defeating Thenswick, the orb was largely inert in their hands."

"Thenswick sent one of his enslaved dragons to wipe out his enemies, and the battle was... ugly. Blood and magic flew in every direction as the party was forced to fight their unwilling enemy."

"Onto the battlefield strode their mysterious stalker, an elf and her animal companion. Seeing the objects of her interest in such dire straits, she chose to assist. After the battle, she alerted them to the fact that she had been following them for quite some time. That was not enough of an explanation for the remaining heroes. They wanted to know her name, where she came from, why she was following them, what she intended to do... all questions you or I would ask."

The Jester turned out to be able to use her hat to more than swinging it from side to side. Taking two of the hat's long appendices and flapping them around she made herself into a makeshift dragon, spitting and hissing fiercly as she negotiated over an invisible orb she held in one of her spare hands.

Becoming Myrnal, she covered at the sight of the god of Hate, but in the end she was facing it down, fists raised at the spooky mirage Samuel was weaving in the air. But eventually she walked off, head lowered, a Myrnal following her own path.

The Jester let her tongue hang out, and made a show of carrying her own cut off head across the grass to the waiting dragons only to be thwarted again. With an amusingly angry face she ran arms first after the orb which Samuel was magically pulling out of her reach over and over. On through more battles the small woman jumped and threw herself before the druid once again made an appearance. Taking her own interpretation of the events, Alessandra portrayed their mysterious stalker as a real bimbo , prancing after the heroes with arms behind her head, flirting shamelessly with them while her "animal companion" (in the form of one of Samuel's illusions) was sneaking closely around her legs like some seductive panther.

Alessandra seemed to enjoy this immensely.

"After much insistence from her quarry, the girl introduced herself. Her name was Yadali, and the fox was her 'nephew' Alex. She was subjected to still more questions. She was following them for the simple reason that they were interesting, and she saw no reason why she shouldn't see what they were up to. Upon discovering that their mission was to take down a would-be dictator who was covering her homeland in abominable undead... she enthusiastically agreed to help. She and her people allied themselves with these foreign adventurers and their foreign gods."

Isaac had actually spoken briefly with Yadali on this subject, partly as an inquiry into the character of Holly's friends, but mostly as a way to hear more of the story. She'd been a good informant, if a somewhat erratic audience due to a rather short attention-span for what she perceived to be frivolous information. It had taken a good deal of conversation and a bit of recreational drug use to get her talking, but it was hardly the furthest Isaac had gone for the sake of his passion for storytelling.

"Yadali joined her new friends in their assault on Thenswick's base, using her shapeshifting powers to tear and maul her way through their enemies. The adventurers drove deeper and deeper into his fortress, and there they met up with their old friend Myrnal... though not as they knew her."

"Despite her efforts at diverting attention away from her friends, Myrnal had been claimed by Nikumu, and coercing her into his service, he sent her into battle against her former friends. Her first target in the battle was her friend Ardam, and she caused a great deal of harm before they were able to stop her. The sorceror Rildyn polymorphed her into a rabbit, and their new druid ally took Myrnal into custody until something could be done about her."

"Finally they were face to face with Thenswick himself. Seeing no recourse but to kill the man, they attacked. Struggling to keep each other alive, the young adventurers fought a battle of attrition with the necromancer. It was a contest of who could survive the longest, of who could remain standing long enough to deal one more blow. In the end it was Elaith who fell, and the gods of death and hate fought over the right to claim his soul."

"Upon Elaith's death, it was his distant divine ancestor who claimed him. Despite the best efforts of our heroes, killing Elaith was not the end of the battle, as immediately after his death he realized his distant divine heritage and returned, the avatar of death itself."

"The god of freedom stepped in to even the score, blessing his chosen warriors in their fight, and with his aid they finally prevailed. Freeing Genevive and ending Elaith's reign of terror, they... finally prevailed."

"Left on the field of battle with their enemies dead and one claimed by darkness, Myrnal's friends sought recourse for her with the god. Dispelling her animal form to address her properly, he cleansed the ugly brand of Nikumu from her body and replaced it with a mark of his blessing. After the battle, when it was clear that the party could not destroy these artifacts of slavery themselves, their divine patron wiped them from existence to ensure that they would never be abused again."

"With that, the adventurers parted ways, Yadali returning to lead her people and the party to their own home on their native continent."

"There were consequences to Elaith's domination of this continent, and there were consequences to the assembly of Elaith's organization, and continued abuses of freedom by those he left behind. That, however, is a tale for another night."

(Holy McCrap. It's done! You survived the telling of that story.)

(Wow! A post! >.<; Kinda lame, but it works ^^Winking

Sam was rather proud of the variety of illusions he had been able to come up with this time. Normally he was too distracted to really have fun with his magic. As Alessandra moved, there were times that Sam had to grab ahold and keep his mind on the illusions at the same time, but it wasn't too hard, they were only a small amount of the actual illusions he could pull off, and they didn't need much focus in the first place.

When Alessandra complimented his illusions, he remained quiet, but nodded his thanks to her, a slight smile on his face as he continued his work. He couldn't act, but he could give his friend something to act with. Isaac's story was interesting, and Sam listened quietly as he always did. The tale seemed to weave it's own magic through his own. Listening to the descriptions of people, what they did and did not do. The dark and the evil, the light and the good.

He also nodded and laughed softly when she spoke to him about a letter. "Well, they could have sent him flowers." He grinned, he too was enjoying the necromancer character. A very interesting person indeed.

Towards the end of the tale, Sam's illusions had become a little more realistic and seemed to take on a life of their own. It had taken Sam a few years to get use to making illusions, but these were some of the more interesting ones he had made.

When the story was finished, Sam smiled and turned to Isaac on Alessandra's shoulder.

"Very well told, Master Luke. And a very interesting story, and Lady Alessandra, you did a wonderful job acting!" He smiled and softly took his hands and waved them, then all the cast that he had created, took a bow, and then with a slight breeze of wind, vanished. The gem studded in his chest was a little dimmer then what it was when he first met his two new friends, but what was a little magic, when enjoying the company of others?

OOC: Blue: I could be wrong, but we don't know the elf's name is Isaac. He presented himself as Lucignolo as far as I know...
-----------------

Continuing her "bimbo" interpretation of the woman now told to be named Yadali, Alessandra pranced about with her hips swaying. When she "enthusiastically agreed" to join the fight she made a great show of girlishly jumping up and down while clapping her hands.

The Jester's "battle scenes" were becoming familiar now, but as she jumped around Samuel's mirage image of Ardam, her face was once again distorted into a cold staring mask, a caricature of a corrupted Myrnal. In the middle of a movement she froze and fell on the ground, curled up into a ball and began jumping around on all four, her front teeth sticking out like that of a rabbit. Alessandra seemed to enjoy being a rabbit, because she played out part of the battle with Elaith from that position, something that took quite some acrobatic skill to pull through. Toppling over end, the "rabbit" portrayed the death of the great necromancer in a less-than serious way that nonetheless was entertaining.

Bouncing back up, she raised her arms to show the arrival of avatar of death that was the returning Elaith. She looked a bit desperate as the god of freedom also arrived and she had to stretch herself even more to show the might of the god. Hugging herself in a surprisingly calmed pose, the heroes prevailed and Elaith was finally slain.

Spinning slowly on one leg, the Jester finished her dance, the faint images of Samuel's magick spreading out from her in all directions, the heroes returning to their respective realms.

The story was over. The Jester spun to a stop and bowed together with Samuel's fading imagery. Then she began laughing. Clapping with the hands on one arm (a strange sight indeed), she held up Samuel and presented him with a grand gesture: "Aaand a big hand to the briliant composer, stage technician and player of all extras, all in one! Some of those images really spooked me too, as I said that god of Hate was freaky in the extreme."

Dancing up to Isaak, the small woman made a turn around him, still laughing. She was a bit out of breath now, but considering the amount of acrobatics she had just performed, it was not much. "That was great master Luke! What a great story! And fun to act out to. But I couldn't help but feel a little sorry for the necro-guy. He was nasty and all, but he was cool! And what happened to Genevive?" Alessandra snapped her fingers. "Surely she must have fallen in the arms of one of the heroes, right? Come on, the girl should always get the prince at the end. You know, as compensation for being locked-up and missing out on almost all of the story ..."

This is what it was about. Forging friendships by exchanging tales, by swapping information and investing time with one another. For Isaac, the aftermath of a story was always filled with potential, because it was the best way to build common ground between people. Now he, Alessandra and Samuel shared an experience, shared knowledge and later on could share jokes on the subject.

Having an audience so hell-bent on being part of the story and its telling... was refreshing and certainly made it more fun for Isaac. For once, the storyteller himself was the one who had no way of knowing what was going to happen, who had to wait in anticipation for the interpretation of another.

The elf coughed a little into his hands. He hadn't had much by way of water for the past day or so, and telling a story that long had him a little parched. He resolved to conjure himself something at the very least.

Isaac steepled his fingers against his lips and thought for a moment. Genevive. Hm. He had attempted to track her down, but it was his guess that years of fleeing from her unwanted suitor had taught her well how to keep her affairs private. It was always sad when people did that. A life untold is a life wasted, and it always troubled Isaac just a bit.

"Well, near as I can tell, Genevive was happy enough to continue her life in peace. While she... to my knowledge, did not take up with one of the heroes in question," He tilted his head, not wanting to make generalizations but finding this one unavoidable. "Well, where I come from adventurers, mercenaries, and heroes of all sorts buzz over the continent's face like bees. Odds are after her experiences with Elaith that she would be interested in a man of slightly... more amiable character. I'd imagine it wouldn't be difficult for a lovely lady to find such a gentleman."

Perhaps the old tradition of paying a storyteller with food and drink could be applied here in a more communal sense. Certainly his companions ate, as Alessandra had expressed an affection for milk earlier. Samuel also looked as if he could stand to refresh himself a bit after his efforts. It might be a prudent social move to return the hospitality of his audience with some magical efforts on his own part.

"Listen, my dear friends. I'm finding myself wanting for a bit of nourishment, and am curious as to how such a commodity might be secured in this locale. I'm rather unfamiliar with the norms here, and do not wish to cause any problems or imbalances." His main concern in this area was the disturbing potential for sentient animal life presented by his new friend Samuel. It would be most unfortunate were he to seek out a potential meal, and in doing so sacrifice a potential acquaintance. It was probably a good thing that he met Samuel when he did, or else he might have had an issue. Isaac filed this knowledge away, and resolved to inquire about the safe consumption of meat if indeed such a thing were possible.

"That said, I'm a fair conjurer when it comes to small items, and while I could not summon us say, a roast turkey... apples and grapes and other small edibles are perfectly reasonable and require little effort. If there are any requests, I can see about securing us a bit of late lunch."

"Aaaw," Alessandra said, disappointed. "I would have liked her to get one of the good guys that rescued her." She pondered. " ... Then again, I guess that would upset your daughter, huh? Better leave all those juicy men to her!" She winked at the elf, jumping off. She sure didn't stay still for long at one spot.

Alessandra climbed a nearby rock and sat down on top of it, legs folded, spreading her many hands around her. "I've had so much fun since I came to this place!" she grinned. "And now I met you and Samuel, and got to dance to a wonderful story. This is shaping up to be a great day."

At the elf's offer she looked intrigued.

"So, can you make Strabuberries? Not strawberries now, strabuberries. Anani the shimmer gave me some and now my mouth waters if I only think of them." She measured a berry between her fingers. "They are a mix of blueberries and strawberries you see. Strabuberries. I think Anani made up that name too -- she was good with names just as you are."

(OOC: I was going to wait for Blue in case Samuel had the munchies, but he's still got time to request himself some vittles. Heh. I said vittles. In fact...)

"Well, I may have to meet this Anani, because I think that in this case her genius far exceeds my own. In the service of the vicissitudes of my dear companions' voracious appetites, your Lucignolo's conjuring lends a verisimilitude of absolute confidence and access to various exotic victuals, but it is to my great regret that I inform you that my conjuring is vastly limited by the familiarity I have with the object at hand."

He paused to take a breath, and it ended in a sigh. Strabuberries actually sounded quite delightful.

"Perhaps, my dear and grandly talented lady, it would not be in vain for me to verify the veracity of your description in the service of deepening the veneer of familiarity I have with your beloved strabuberries by meeting this culinary genius for whose talents you have so enthusiastically vouched."

The Jester shrugged and didn't look all too sorry about it. "I couldn't tell ya where Anani is now" she said. "She and her shadow is off somwhere -- eating Strabuberries someplace, I reckon." She looked at the elf with her head tilted. "You know, sometimes you talk so fancy words that I think the words themself must be confused with what they mean. It's beautiful, and I understand it -- I think -- but I sure could never learn so many words like you have. Are you some sort of scribe or something? You know, one of those that travel around writing stuff for people?"

OOC: Congrats, Kai! But we don't need to cut this thread short just because you have been accepted. As you know you can post elsewhere with Isaac now -- since this is a joining thread and do not follow the normal timeline. Smile

(OOC: Being accepted is groove-tastic indeed, and I do want to continue with this. I was actually thinking of waiting for Blue, in case Samuel wants some free food while it's being offered. I want to make sure we don't leave anyone behind, as that's always sad.)

((Sorry homework hit me big time this last week >.>; stupid cold only just ended last week too))

Sam was caught off gaurd when the Jester held him up and praised his images, Sam too was slightly tired, but he scratched behind his head and would have blushed if he could, but he did clap for Luke of course.

When Luke said he could conjure them a meal, Sam laughed softly to himself. "Wouldn't you know that's what I was doing when I was up in the tree? I normally just eat seeds and small berries, so it doesn't matter much to me, or I could climb up in the tree once more. It doesn't bother me." Sam leapt right off of the Jester's shoulders and with a zip of speed, going at about 10 mph, not too fast, but fast enough. He was up in a branch quickly after jumping from the Jester and held a seed in his hand.

"So as you can see, there's no need to worry about me." He smiled and nibbled on the seed slightly, his ears twisting back and forth as every once in a while he made sure to lick at his delicate whiskers.

((Yeah bad post >>; *brain dead*))

Isaac took a step to the left, absently tapping on his lower lip with one finger. He stepped to the right, and then back again, causing an odd swaying motion as the elf pondered his culinary options. Alessandra had suggested berries --he leaned a bit in her direction-- and Samuel --Isaac leaned over toward Samuel's tree-- had expressed a preference for small juicy things of similar nature.

So it was settled. Everyone here liked berries, and Isaac was too hungry to give it much more thought than that.

He brought his heels together with a militaristic and decisive air, and flipped his hat off his head. "Well, we seem to have reached a concensus, haven't we?"

Isaac reached out into the astral plane around him, trying to get a feel for the magical energy flowing through this plane, pulsing behind the material objects, behind the light and movement that was the material evidence of life here. He noted with intense pleasure and some surprise that there may be an explanation for the high population of seemingly-magical creatures he'd met so far.

This place, he thought, has got one hell of an astral plane. Call it a high-mana area, call it deeply-embedded in its magical resources, but one thing is for sure... The elf grinned, satisfied with his conclusion. I'm going to be very spoiled here, magically-speaking.

With that thought, Isaac extended his will out around him into the astral plane and beyond it into what conjurers affectionately --and only half-seriously-- dubbed the Plane of Miscellanae. The plane where lost housekeys, lost socks, and even lost pets occasionally ended up. It was the raw material from which conjurers pulled the items they could not create on their own.

Right now, Isaac wanted berries.

With a riff of laughter that ascended to the heights of Isaac's natural tenor range, he poured magic out of his hands and into his hat, filling it with a combination of blueberries, raspberries, mulberries, and blackberries. There was even a strawberry or two.

"Here you are, my gracious hosts! Should either of you desire to partake of my conjured feast, I surely cannot be expected to eat this on my own."

The Jester looked after Samuel as he ran up into the tree. "Must be convenient to be able to live on seeds" she said. "I think my stomach would overthrow me if I tried to feed it on seeds alone. My stomach is an ungrateful bugger in that way."

Alessandra rubbed her hands together -- all four of them -- and slid down off the rock, right next to Isaac. She dipped her nose into the hat he held, examining the contents intently at close range. She looked up with a broad smile and a mouthful of berries she had somehow managed to dig up with her mouth without spilling anything around her red lips. "A spellbinding storyteller and a conjurer of berries!" she said, munching on the berries in her mouth. "Oh! Strawberries!"

She plucked four handfulls from the hat and returned to her rock. Spreading out her ams around her she plucked off a berry from one of her four hands in sequence, twisting her head about to catch the incoming projectiles in her mouth.

"What I didn't understand from your story, Luke" she said, pausing her cannonade, "was if one of those heroes were your daughter. One of those that defeated that necro-guy. I mean. Surely she wouldn't stray far from that handsome paladin-fellow, right?"
