Mist shook her head and grinned. "And I though the master was supposed to be the responsible one" she said as she followed Kat and James to the bar.
Re: This Calls for a Celebration! (Open, no fighting)
Kat gave Mist a naughty look and flashed a lop sided grin her way. "I am being responsible dear. I'm being personally responsible for intoxicating both of my padawans on this fine evening." She winked at her as the bartender came around and gave Kat a suprised look, as if wondering why she was back so soon.

James leaned against the bar and wrapped an arm around Kat' waist. He looked at the bartender who looked shocked, "Yeah, we're back, and if possible I want the booze this time instead of er."
He laughed, meaning nothing ill by his comment, but poking fun of the man just the same.
Re: This Calls for a Celebration! (Open, no fighting)
The bartender grinned a little apologetically. "Of course sir, I thought that pretty young thing was acting a bit odd. Tell ya what, its on the house. What will the ladies be havin?"
Re: This Calls for a Celebration! (Open, no fighting)
No glances were exchanged between child and adult as Jacelyn extended herself along the speeder. Little Ishta was troubled, and when she was, it truly meant one thing in specific, she wanted to talk. Jacelyn didn't.
What's the matter, Missy?
Her voice sounded so sad in Jacelyn's mind.
I don't know how to let go.
Why must you?
Too many questions, not enough answers.
Becuase I should.
Because she didn't want to lose Tiara.
When Jacelyn made her choice long ago, when Tiara had asked her to, well, she thought she knew what she was doing. Except she never thought she'd find herself falling in love with Prime. It wasn't about the reassurance that Ishta willingly offered to her. Tiara offered it too, as did little Ishta.
It was the way in which, when she looked at Prime, she could see little hints of Tiara, of herself, of little Ishta. How she could see parts of Prime that made Prime, well, Prime. It was Ishta's mind and innocence which captivated Jacelyn.
She was as beautiful to Jacelyn on the inside as she was on the outside. As was Tiara. Her mind couldn't forget anything. Though inwardly, the memory of letting Ishta go was one Jacelyn wished she could forget.
When she'd let go, she'd only shared a half truth. At the time, Prime's influence was not as significant then as it was at present.
Now, now it could match Tiara's, and no one knew it but Jacelyn.
The other half of the truth that she'd never shared was that letting go of Prime had been easier than letting Tiara go.
Back then, Tiara could have taken everything away. She still could.
Prime held control too, only in a much different manner. She willingly allowed Jacelyn to take the reigns, making her feel powerful. Leaving her to feel just as special as Tiara made her feel.
By lettng Prime go, seeing her again had still been an option. She had still been her apprentice then; Tiara had wanted her to instruct her.
If only she had treated Prime like a toy, nothing would be for the worse now. If only she hadn't complicated things. If only she hadn't fallen in love twice.
More than that, if only she'd told Tiara no.
Letting Tiara go hadn't been an option. There was no mistaking the idea that she'd lose everything by letting her beloved go.
Either Prime hadn't yet figured out just how much control she had over Jacelyn or she neglected to use it. A part of her wished that Prime would use that control, so that Jacelyn could truly understand what the woman wanted from her. To be loved by Jacelyn in such a way as Jacelyn loved Tiara; or to just be a kind of mother and teacher to her. She didn't understand what Prime wanted of her.
When Jacelyn stopped playing pretend; Prime's wishes would be granted. Yet by then, Jacelyn sadly thought, Prime would want nothing more to do with her.
For now, she was sitting in the speeder pretending that Prime's interest and fascination in Oren wasn't bothering her. When in reality, it was making her angry, pushing her to the edge of tears.
When she tells you what she really wants, you'll have real clarity, won't you? You'll be able to decide what to do?
I hope so.
She hoped that she would be able to decide long before the time to lose everything was present.
Re: This Calls for a Celebration! (Open, no fighting)
Alema couldn't hold back a laugh as Serrena yanked her shoes off and lost several inches of height. She was actually a good bit shorter than the Twi'lek now that only one of them was wearing heels. Following Serrena's gesture, Alema nodded and offered Serrena a chivalrous arm as they made their way over.
If neither of us can count on a man tonight, at least she can be escorted around by a friend.
Once at the table, Alema picked out some braised nerf on the menu. If she was going to be dancing to any degree heavy food would be a real mistake, but expensive gourmet meat on someone else's tab was hard for a woman like Alema to resist. Soon she was cutting into some of the most tender and delicately-prepared meat she'd eaten in years, rows of pointed teeth tearing through it with relatively little effort. The emerald wine that came with her dinner sat next to her plate untouched.
She looked across the table at the young woman sitting with her. She still wasn't entirely sure how to approach Serrena. Her usual clues weren't helping her quite as much. Most women she knew who were as sexually open as Serrena were either using physical intimacy as a substitute for emotional intimacy, or they really were just that open about their own desires.
So either Serrena wouldn't be comfortable actually talking about her problems and Alema would make her uncomfortable by asking, or Serrena was sincere enough about her emotions to appreciate the gesture.
I hate thinking this way, Alema thought. Why do people have to be so complicated?
"So what brought you out tonight? Taking an evening to yourself without having to deal with the masculine barbarian hordes?"
Re: This Calls for a Celebration! (Open, no fighting)
Kat smiled at the bartender. "I think I'll try something fruity." The bartender nodded and started to make her a lemon lime smoothie, making careful sure not to put anything else in it.
He then turned to Mist and James. "And for the other lady and you sir?"

Re: This Calls for a Celebration! (Open, no fighting) "I'll have something fruity and definately not alcoholic please" Mist said pointedly to the bartender then turned back to Kat and James. "I want a clear head for if Oren comes back down"
Re: This Calls for a Celebration! (Open, no fighting)
The bartender sat down Mists drink with a smile and then turned to James. "And for you sir? Your very lucky to have two pretty girls to sit with. Promise I've been very carefull with the drinks this time sir." He smiled a little shamefully to let James know he really was sorry. It had been a busy night for him and all.
Kat smiled at the bartender warmly and then turned to Mist. "I understand what you mean. Drinking does tend to cause your head to fog, believe me, I know. I put James through a rough time tonight."

Re: This Calls for a Celebration! (Open, no fighting) "I'll take a chocolate milkshake. No alcohol right now please. I don't feel like a headache in the morning, and no worries pal. All's well that ends well."
Re: This Calls for a Celebration! (Open, no fighting)
The bartender nodded, greatfull for James's kindness and sat down the milkshake. He then hurried off to help the others there.
Kat smiled at James. "I probably gave you enough of a headache tonight love that your gonna have one in the morning anyways." She tipped her drink to her mouth and sniffed it a little before sipping. Had to be carefull afterall.
She turned to Mist. "So do you know anything about the woman you met?"

Mist shook her head. "Only her name and that we resonate in the Force. I went first on the whole 'so tell me about yourself' bit and then her stupid Sith date suddenly needed comforting again"
Re: This Calls for a Celebration! (Open, no fighting)
Kat couldnt help but here the tone of Mists voice. She reached out and gave her hand a squeeze. "Its ok she will be back. A resonate in the Force means something special and its very hard to ignore. Most people dont ever feel that and the ones who do are very lucky. She will be back."

Re: This Calls for a Celebration! (Open, no fighting) "I guess you're right" Mist admitted, "And I am being silly and jealous. I didn't sense any kind of real connection between Oren and her Sith so hopefully she'll want to understand our resonance as much as I do"
She then raised her glass. "Here's to true love"
Re: This Calls for a Celebration! (Open, no fighting)
Kat blushed at James wink and she to raised her glass. "True love."
After they had each taken a drink she smiled at Mist. "It will work out. Besides how could anyone stay very long with a Sith." She laughed a little at her joke and hoped it would lighten Mists spirits.

Re: This Calls for a Celebration! (Open, no fighting) "Well the Sith have the passion thing going for them but it's just meaningless compared to real love" Mist said, smiling. "I doubt that Oren will be taken in by the falseness of the Sith"
Re: This Calls for a Celebration! (Open, no fighting)
Kat laughed at James explanation of the Sith and smiled. "Yes I can imagine they can get very rowdy. As for Oren I'm sure your right Mist."
Kat smiled and then winked at Mist covertly so James couldnt see it. She then pointed in the crowd and said "Whats that?" When James turned his head she snuck a drink of his milkshake, but wasnt fast enough... if he turned his head he would catch her...

Re: This Calls for a Celebration! (Open, no fighting)
The young woman stared blankly at the menu before choosing a delicately spiced dish of roasted vegetables topped with slices of sauteed nerf and a delicate wine sauce. She ate silently for several moments, taking sips of her sparkling water every time she found herself wishing for something stronger to drink. Now that she had company, however, it wouldn't do for her to be drunk.
Her fork pushed around a bite of a strange blue vegetable, aimlessly drawing a random pattern through the sauce. Serrena had fallen silent again, absently remembering the last bitter words she'd had with Andros, the anger and the pain that had festered within her for months coming out in a few heated moments. Still, she thought...she'd have married him if he'd ever asked.
She sighed softly, blinking as her ears finally registered that Alema had spoken. Glancing up at the twi'lek, she shook her head. "I don't really know why I came...I just couldn't stand waiting at home any longer. That and I think I was driving Nathaniel crazy with my incessant babbling."
Re: This Calls for a Celebration! (Open, no fighting) "Babbling?" Alema asked, raising one tattooed eyebrow. "At this stage in your life, I can't imagine that anything you need to talk about... is babbling."
She could certainly understand a desire to get out and do something, do anything. Alema had recently reached a stage in her life where she just couldn't tolerate sitting around being alone all the time. Without anyone to laugh at, listen to, talk with... everything just became harder to deal with.
No, it was not surprising to Alema that Serrena might have wanted a diversion and even some company. Maybe superficial conversation wasn't what Serrena needed. She could get that anywhere. She could get that with the Captain, in between his attempts to grope her.
"Serrena..." Alema said her name quietly and slowly. "I know we don't know each other that well, but... If you need to talk to someone besides your brother, you should know that there are other people who care about you, too. Who want to know how you're doing." Alema's eyes fell down to the tablecloth for a moment before pulling themselves back up to Serrena's. "So you're not going to bother me if something's on your mind, and you certainly won't be babbling."
Re: This Calls for a Celebration! (Open, no fighting)
Jon understood why they picked the new chancellor's gala for the rendezvous, he just didn't feel comfortable being here.
He had been instructed to meet his father's assistant to receive a new set of paper - new ID's, certifications, and credit chips. As head of Burke Enterprises, his father had a reason to be here - and it's true it's often easier to hide in a crowd - still Jon felt out of place. Plus, it was difficult seeing his father across the banquet hall and not being able to speak to him; to hug him; to go home...
He sadly turned his attention back to the plate sitting in front of him. He picked disinterestedly at the food and watched as two ladies claimed the table next to him.
One was a rather short barefoot brunette who looked as sad as Jon felt. The other - the one that truly caught Jon's attention - was blue.
Jon felt dizzy. He was having a flashback to the first time he had been prepared for a night with the Mistress.
A blue twi'lek slave had bathed him.
The same twi'lek that had coordinated his rescue.
The same twi'lek that had been a jedi spy.
The same twi'lek that had saved his life.
The same twi'lek whose name he didn't even know.
Jon realized he was staring at the woman with a somewhat manic expression on his face - and she had noticed.
He quickly smiled benignly at her and returned his gaze to his plate, trying to break the eye contact. He wondered how long it would be before people started leaving, so, he could slip quietly away.

Delicate blond curls found themselves coiled around a slender index finger. A tuft of dyed ebony tresses was pushed back behind the gentle sweep of a light tan ear. Dainty, gloved fingers of an olive green hue danced over a receptive antenna of the same color. Savin smirked as he realized how captive an audience he had attracted.
"And then what did you do?" Asked the, reasonably well-built, Rodian to the right of the trio of beautiful women he had assembled with, as his father would identify as, his 'animal magnetism'.
"Well.." Continued the warrior with slight lowering of his voice. An obvious ploy to anyone that wasn't too busy staring at how well the Dxun-bred Mando was filling out his suit.
"...the Nexu was looking at me...his eyes, a milky white. He was old, that much I could tell. You see, living with the jungle in your backyard for all my life, I came to learn a few things about it and my 'neighboors' in it. I could see that he was old and he was -desperate-.." He leaned a bit closer to the three girls. Of whom, seemed to be captivated by this tale of adventure.
Or, maybe, it was the tail in the suit before them that held their attention. It was hard to tell.
"RRAARH..he leaps at me!" the sudden outburst caused the troika of girls to jump with a start and descend into a fit of giggles as Savin got to 'the good part' of his epic.
The Mando'ade had a real flair for telling a good story. He made sure to look each one of his audience or three in the eyes, making them, in that instant, feel as though he was talking only to them. It seemed to be working as the trio remained captivated by his saga of his prowess and tenacity.
"..After that.." Continued he. "The little girl's cat came out of the tree and.." He paused for effect. "..Got -in front- of the Nexu to protect -it- from me." A collective gasp rose from the group before he pressed on. His grey gaze flickered once as he spied Alema and Serrena making their way to a table after cutting up the dance floor like a pair of pros. His attention returned to his audience, of whom, where completely oblivious to his lapse in concentration.
"..So, I kneel down and pull out the little bell Amina gave me before I took this aka on. The little kat perked up as soon as I rung it. 'Here puss. Come here puss'. She started over to me, right? And I wait..I just wait.." His voice lowers again as he leaned closer to the girls who still haven't learned to see this coming.
"I -snatched- the cat up and ran!" The dark-haired human squeaked as sure as the rest of her friends jumped again. "I ran as far as I could, to make sure the Nexu lost my scent before I started back to the settlement with my bounty. No sooner did the little cat see her master did she hiss and spit and claw me in the ear before jumping out of my hands to run up into Amina's arms. And -that's- how I got this." Said he as he pointed up to the small divot missing from his right ear as that old wound was the point of the telling of the tale.
"I didn't get any money for it..but, I just couldn't turn that little girl away when she was crying like that. And she was so happy that I found her cat. She ran up and gave me a tiny little hug, she did." This was met be a cacophony of 'Awww's from his audiance. "-But-.." Said he as he held up his finger.
"..The Uj cake that little girl made was delicious."
The trio laughed a bit as the blond clapped lightly, seemingly enjoying the story, vastly. The blond found herself wondering what she could do to capture his full, and sole, attention. The dark-haired girl was already plotting to steal this yummy man back to her room away from her friends. The Rodian was fantasizing about ripping his clothes off right there.
Savin, on the other hand, was otherwise occupied as he glanced over the blond's shoulder to see where Serrena and his -actual- date had gotten to. He checked his chronometer to ensure that too much time had not passed before he excused himself from the girls, who seemed disappointed to see him go, and started over toward the pair with a relaxed step.
He hoped Adenn hadn't gotten himself smashed on all this expensive drink. The -real- reason they where here hadn't shown up yet, which meant he was still in his room. Just a bit longer...hopefully.
"Su'cuy blue..Serrena.." Said he as he sauntered up to their table, giving both a very male smile and a glance as he addressed them.
