::Oh, she's good:::
The Madno'ad couldn't help be impressed by the effectiveness the Twi'lek woman showcased in dealing with the holotgraphers. She worked the crowd like a master and had them eating out of her hands. He nodded as he was certain he had made the best choice in asking her to come. She would be -perfect- in keeping attention off him and his partner. That, and he owed her for all that she did for him and his crew on Myrkr.
And boy, did she ever look kandosii in that dress.
Savin smirked at his partner in today's caper at his assessment of the cerulean beauty as she started on her way over to the pair of Mando'ade. Alema was certainly a vision tonight. But, he was not so sure A'den knew what he was getting into if he thought the smart and tough lutian Twi'lek would be the demure sort he was probably used to meeting. He would have told him so if his arm was not forcefully pulled down to come into contact with her hip with such suddenness that the Mando'ad had to mentally restrain himself from allowing his hand to show his appreciation of her luscious figure. His mind started to buzz as she spoke, resting her leg on his and setting his mind alight at all the lust-ridden images of her that swirled through his head, causing his lips to part slightly in shock. Why did she have to look so -d*mn good- in that shabla dress?
~*I'm going to go on ahead, So Savin. Take your time; I'll be inside*~ Her glance to A'den went completely unnoticed as his eyes, still hidden by his sunglasses, where -anywhere- but her eyes. It was odd that he never noticed how nice and round her-..
And then, just like that, she was gone.
"....u..uuh."
It was all he could seem to formulate to say to that. A cold chill washed over his leg as he felt the void of her sudden absence leaving the large man -completely- slack-jawed. He felt a slight twisting just below his abdomen as he turned to watch her leave with a slight cringe, realizing he just blew any chance of getting more than just a paycheck for the night.
:::-Ouch-:::
For a moment, it was the best his tortured mind could formulate.
It took the powerfully built Mandolorian a moment more to pick his jaw off the floor. "Ahem...So...uhh..Lek, vod'ika..we..umm..What where we talking about again?" He looked to his vod with a smile. No dice, Savin. Jokes will not get by how bad you just got burned tonight.
"Heh..well, for right now, we just go have fun." He leand forward keeping a smile on his face asn his voice lowered to a rumbling whisper. "...or as much of it as we can before it's showtime. I'll let you know when we go live. 'Till then, we are just here to have a good time. Lay off the tihaar for now, though." He patted his vod on the shoulder and laughed a bit as he led him into the party.
"And if you want to try your hand, vod'ika, your welcome to it. I think I blew my shot for the night. Hah Hah."
He didn't get more than five steps past saying that before his steel-grey gaze fell upon the deadly dancer of the CFR and her 'dress'. Savin, in all his masculine glory, -approved- of her choice of dress, but he frowned a bit. He could tell that there was something wrong. He made it point to go talk to her about it at some point that night.
Instead, the Mando made eyes at a tray of drinks and appetizers and the young lady that was carrying it. With a smirk, he pat his partner on the back as he started off.
"Right...remember, keep it shev'la vod. Right now...just have some fun."
Re: This Calls for a Celebration! (Open, no fighting)
Desperately searching around her for an escape from the discussion of jewelry...which had somehow moved on to flat sequins versus beads. As her eyes darted furtively away from her new friends, Alema spotted a young woman who could only be Serrena Alcine getting started on the evening's drinking. She flinched inwardly at the girl's attire, but considered it a point of pride that she didn't lecture the younger woman on proper modesty and other assorted condescending maternal nonsense.
So she politely excused herself and went to greet Serrena. Sliding into a seat next to her, she tilted her head to inspect Serrena. She didn't seem to be here with anyone, and hadn't found a gentleman to torment yet. It wasn't like her. Alema didn't know her very well, and in fact wasn't sure she'd even properly introduced herself yet.
"Hey. I think I've seen you around the ship. My name's Alema." She glanced over toward the door, where Savin was talking to his friend. Let him hang out with the boys, then. If he wants me, he can come find me.
"Y'know, it seems my date is busy tonight," Alema remarked, her eyebrows raised in amusement. "I guess this means I'm on my own." She turned back to Serrena. "So what are you up to? Is there anything interesting going on yet?"

Oren wrapped her arm around Ishta's waist to keep her balance. It was then, after making sure that she was balanced, that she looked at her. She was dressed in a beautiful white blue dress. It hugged her around her hips, and it showed off every feminine trait that she had.
Trailing a finger along Ishta's back, she whispered, "You look absolutely lovely tonight."
Then she felt something in the force. It was odd. She had never felt it before. Her eyes scanned the crowd and fell upon the cause of the feeling. It was a girl, not much older than her, based on her looks. She smiled at her and then turned back to Ishta.

Mist watched the younger girl and her date, trying very hard to keep her jealousy from showing.
While the girl was glowing, her date was more like a storm cloud in the Force. She reeked of the Dark Side.
About the only plus side of all this was that there was no resonance between the girl and her date in the Force. Nothing like what Mist was feeling. 'A match of convenience?' she thought, considering that she was using the same tactic on Gen Skywalker, whereever the frell he was.
The younger girl smiled at Mist, causing her cheeks to flush crimson and make a mockery of her so-called discipline.
She caught the faint sense of a question, and decided to introduce herself. "Hi there. I'm Mist Mayweather. You look stunningly radiant. And what's your name?"
Even as she asked, she could feel a little voice in her head admonishing her. 'Yeah, real subtle'

It was impossible for Ishta to decide what made her blush more: Oren's words or the feel of her finger along her neck. It didn't matter: Prime enjoyed both immensely. Her fingers rubbed softly against the back of Oren's hand. "I wanted to be pretty for you."
It was a delicate moment, broken all too quickly by the presence of an interloper. Oren sensed it first, and Ishta sensed her distraction. She suddenly understood what it was to care for someone, as the threat of someone distracting Oren from her filled Ishta with a burning jealousy. It grew darker as she became aware of the interloper's identity: a Jedi female. Her discipline, or lack of it, suggested a padiwan.
Her first reaction was to pull Oren away, but she bit back hard on it. Both Jacelyn and Tiara taught her the value of avoiding rash reactions - there were more favorable options. As the Jedi sought to speak with Oren, Ishta orbited about her date to allow the two of them to speak without Prime between them. All the while she caressed delicate arms with gentle fingertips, reminding Oren who she came with tonight. Her eyes examined the Jedi at length: she was not unpleasant to look at.
For the time being she would wait. There were many possibilities as to how this evening could end: a wise person would keep their options open.

Stepping into the great hall Niko realized how diverse this group was, he could feel Republic officials, officers, his fellow Jedi, and even the distinct presence of Sith. However he wasn’t here to do battle he was here to mingle to meet new people and to congratulate the new Chancellor. Looking over the crowd he didn’t recognize many faces and those he did know where busy. Making his way through the crowd with ease Niko found a corner to watch the goings on. He still didn’t feel comfortable in large crowds especially when he wasn’t armed but he would stand back and watch for now. Once he had the lay of the social landscape he would venture forth and introduce himself.

Tyen paced outside the Chancellor's Ball. He hadn't really planned on attending, but thought that it might be a good idea for somebody to keep an eye out for trouble. True: the Republic guards were capable, but they lacked a certain discretion that he could bring to a situation.
Such a situation was brewing on the steps into the ball. A couple had arrived, only to be suddenly intercepted by an eager padiwan. The arrivals had the toxic aura of Sith, while the Padiwan seemed too interested in making an aquaintence to notice or care. Tyen frowned at the scene: the Padiwan seemed too vulnerable to the influences of the Dark Side.
He stepped closer to the group, not interfering but allowing his presence to be known. Hopefully this would be enough to dissuade any violence, and perhaps veer the Jedi away from temptation.
Re: This Calls for a Celebration! (Open, no fighting)
A'den sighed as both of the people he had come with went their own separate directions. He figured there was nothing to be gained by following Savin, at least not now. His eyes scanned the room and he saw Alema at the bar. He smirked and took a seat next to her. He ordered Corellian Whiskey and drank deep, the smooth liquor burning his throat. But it was so good. He turned to Alema and smiled his best smile.
"Hey there...I noticed you outside, and I must say, you look simply ravishing, love." His chocolate eyes twinkled in the low light and his pure white teeth reflected the light. She truly was beautiful, and A'den was drawn to her radiance. His eyes could not stray from her face, as he had more respect for women than just to gawk at their bodies. In truth, A'den was a hopeless romantic. He believed that if love was true, than no matter what had happened, it would work out. He didn't think what he felt right now for Alema was love, but who knew? It could become that.
Re: This Calls for a Celebration! (Open, no fighting)
Alema turned away from Serrena on her left to the man who'd sat down on the other side of her. A sharp retort was ready at the tip of her tongue, but she let it go unspoken when she saw that he was at least looking her in the eye. For a moment she actually felt a little guilty for his interest in her, since she had been flirting with him earlier. He really had no way of knowing that she'd just done it to take her date down a notch or two in front of his buddy.
At this point she wasn't sure exactly how merciless she was feeling. With Savin she'd been a brutal tease, but that had been intentional and as far as she was concerned the Mandalorian had deserved it. This man didn't seem so bad, though. She didn't particularly appreciate men calling her things like "love," but it was probably just his effort at being familiar and affectionate with a pretty woman. While it might be fun to play around with him for a while, and while Savin probably wouldn't appreciate it, Alema wasn't so heartless that she was willing to toy with one man to get a dig in at another.
Then there was Serrena. Alema really had intended to come sit next to her crewmate and have a moment's peace from marauding menfolk, and the twi'lek wasn't about to give up hope yet. The younger seductress would catch some of Alema's reluctance in her voice even if Aden did not. If nothing else she could acknowledge the flood of compliments, but she didn't want Serrena to feel as though Alema were abandoning her to go play with a boy.
"That's good of you to say. So what brings you over here?" Alema asked. "I thought you and Savin were busy."

A'den sighed heavily and rose his hand to the bartender. Another drink was laid before him. He had a feeling he was going to need several more before the night was done. The subtle reluctance was not lost on A'den. He shook the glass in his hand and listened to the ice jingle against the sides of the glass. He turned his head back to Alema and tried his best to hide his hurt pride.
"Aye, I suppose we are. Just thought I'd stop by and say hi to a couple of lovely ladies." He looked at the bartender and the man sighed. He filled up another glass and slid it across the bar. "Now, I guess I'll be movin' on." He offered his best smile and took the drink with him when he left. He walked over to where Tyen stood and clasped his hand on the Jedi's shoulder.
"You look rather unhappy this fine, fine evening, mate. My name is A'den. My friends abandoned me apparently, so whats got you so down?" He tried his best to be friendly, though he doubted the man would open up. A'den was just trying to fill time at this point. He took another swig of the whiskey and knew it for certain that he was going to be flat out drunk before this @#%$ night was over.

"Exciting, exhilarating with a huge dash of worry." Kael wiped his brow and looked back up at her. "I think I flustered my speech, I didn't mean to sound so strong. I don't want to come off sounding like those we oppose." The waiter now handing the two their drinks. Elisabeth's in a long, crystal flute and Kael's in a short glass with a couple of rocks of ice. With a nod of the head to the server, Kael turned back towards Elisabeth.
"I get flustered sometimes. It's just that, this isn't just Bellassa anymore, it's... It's a galaxy of people now. They look to me to protect them, make sure they're being treated right, fed and clothed. I help lead all of those things. And if I fail, I not only fail a planet, but the galaxy of them in my jurisdiction." The drink coming to his lips as he downed it in a quick motion.
"It's a lot to think about." With his glass now back on the table, his free hand went over hers and gave a light squeeze. "I hope I can do this," with a heavy sigh.

Kael was a great choice for Supreme Chancellor - the Galaxy's greatest writer's couldn't come up with a speech so promising. The place had gone quiet whilst the ex-Senator made his moving declamation until the man had thanked everyone - the applauds were numerous and the the cheers for Kael started.
A wide grin sat on Bernon's lips - the Vurk hadn't been a Senator long but even he knew Kael had the potential to become a brilliant Chancellor. Bernon looked around the bar, eyes shining with excitement.
"Can I get you another drink, Senator?"
The Vurk turned, awkwardly as his hefty robe restricted his movements, to find the young bartender waiting for an answer. Bernon had been drinking blue milk and decided to spice the night up a little, so he ordered an Alderaanian brandy. All the drinks were free so the expense didn't matter to Bernon.
When his beverage came he scooped it up, handing a small tip to the bartender, and headed onto the dancefloor. The Vurk hardly ever danced at parties but since joining the Republic, Bernon seemed to be a new Vurk.
After his crazy moment, Bernon exited the dancefloor, small beads of sweat now dripped from his face, and went over to Kael. The new Chancellor was sat with a beautiful woman. Bernon wouldn't normally of interupted but after his brandy he felt he could do anything - Bernon was drunk for the second time in his life.
"Chancellor, Chancellor... Congratulations... May your career be as healthy as my life has been"
With one hand, Bernon rose his now empty glass and with the other he offered a handshake to Kael, hoping the man took it.

Elisabeth sipped her wine, carmine lips on the delicate flute. She listened intently to what Kael was saying, and admitting about his own personality, cataloguing this automatically in her durasteel-trap-like mind. She felt a flinch of guilt for doing that, then sighed inwardly.
He is what he is... and I am what I am... Well and so, he's no patron that I've sought out for Fortun's sake, and Kael's already told me he'll hand over whatever he may find about Jurgan's past. Can't I just be a pretty thing on his arm for a night without thinking so much?
"You'll succeed because you're self-conscious, Kael," Elisabeth assured him. "History's shown that it's those who are too sure of themselves who find their way into a despot's role."
"Chancellor, Chancellor... Congratulations... May your career be as healthy as my life has been"
Elisabeth blinked, squeezing Kael's hand as she gazed up at the Vurk. The Vurk who'd been... drinking a little too much...

Re: This Calls for a Celebration! (Open, no fighting)"Well, A'den, consider yourself fortunate that you have friends to abandon you. There are those in the galaxy that lack that particular luxury."
Like most people who felt this way, Tyen was probably overstating the truth. Still, it was rough going through the motions of being a galactic defender when - at the end of the day - there was nobody to just sit and talk with. It was harder still when those he cared about went their own way, leaving him alone to deal with his insecurities. He didn't blame them: he probably wasn't very good company. All the same, he couldn't help but be shaken by such thoughts.
Tyen's head twitched slightly. He had to cut off such thinking: it would damage his abilities with the Force if he continued to obsess so. Turning to A'den, he offered a friendly smile. "You seem to be dry - care for another round?"

Serrena's eyes glowed a touch brighter as Alema perched beside her, and she allowed her crimson orbs to travel over the lithe Twi'lek. She downed the rest of her drink and spared a smile for the bartender who had anticipated her request and set a fresh glass before her. As Alema turned and spoke to A'den, she watched his features falter slightly and then followed him with her gaze as he left them.
"A pleasure to meet you, Alema...I'm Serrena. I remember seeing you at crew meetings aboard the ship." She took a long drink from the crystal glass in her fingers and smiled, pleased that the alcohol was beginning to numb the pain that took root in her chest.
"Interesting? Nothing yet...though with all these 'people' around, something is bound to break at some point..." she winked, motioning to the bartender to fetch Alema a drink.

Standing in the back of the room, Kai smiled as he heard the speech from the ex-Chancellor Kallis. At least he's honest about it Kallis was the reason that Kai didn't like the idea of a military chancellor. No suibtle talk, no real diplomatic skill, just the will to use the army wherever he saw fit. And that meant that the army was used quite a bit. But now there was a new chance, a new Chancellor.
Kai knew nothing about the man who had defeated him, in a landslide victory no less, but at least Kael Arden was only a political person and not military minded. Of course, the new Chancellor would need help. His speech made him sound a little more aggressive than Kai might have hoped. But the senator knew that it might just be for appearance. The new Chancellor couldn't look weak. That's all it is. He assured himself as he scanned over the people there. It seemed that this event had called out the best and the brightest, but one person seemed to catch his eye.
She seemed familiar to him, yet he couldn't remember knowing somebody with blonde hair. Shrugging, he decided to walk up to her. Even if he didn't know her, it would be good to introduce himself. Casually, he waled up to her. Something about her, I should remember her I know it. Then he got within a few feet of her, and bowed slightly. As he did, he noted a sudden change of expression. "Is there something I can help you with?"

By then it seem glancing aside at the guards and security posted everywhere. He kinda second guess if initiating a meet with her here would be wise. Be it really be her or if he was mistaken.Seeing as however one view it, her troubles in light of Hapes incident. Was partly his fault to which he was unable to do much to aid her or Kai in.
And so thinking fast he reach into his coat for his flask. The taking a few swig just for good mesure. He intentionaly bump into her. He lifted his hood to his head and loose himself in the crowd. That had gathered and initiate the meet to put his nagging instinct aside.
"Excuse me."
To which with a smirk he seem to play it off with a slight ploy. Hopping no one would give them no mind to which he then replied.
" My appology...if anything if you would allow me to say buy you a drink mylady or something?"

James looked at the bar. He wouldn't mind a good ale right now, but he knew that Kay had been looking forward to dancing again. She was better than any ale he had ever found. The answer was as clear as a bell.
He held out his hand to her, and said, "May I have this dance, love?"
Re: This Calls for a Celebration! (Open, no fighting)
(IC) Kat felt herself fill with happiness. She had hoped he would choose to dance with her again. She smiled at him and took his hand. "Yes you may."
She walked out onto the dance floor with him and gently placed her arms around his waist. It felt so nice to be close to him again. This party was going to be a lot of fun.

Oren blushed at her date's comment. Looking back at her, she moved close to her and brushed her fingers across the other girl's face. She moved her face close enough to tease Ishta with her lips, but far enough away to keep them out of reach. "I'm glad," she said, licking her bottom lip to add to the moment.
Suddenly the other girl that she had noticed made an appearance. Her cheeks already glowing a healthy pink, she blushed even more to bring them to a full flushed crimson. How did this girl affect her so much with only a few words of compliment, and her name? And why didn't Ishta effect her this way?
"My name is Oren. And may I say that that dress looks ravishing on you as well?"

Mist blushed at the complement. She wasn't entirely happy at the Sith woman trying to keep Oren away from her but decided to summarily ignore it. "Thank you, Oren" she said sweetly, "Might I have the pleasure of the first dance?"
She gently took Oren's hand and then kissed her on both cheeks, more to demonstrate affection than to annoy the Sith... although if the Sith was annoyed, Mist wasn't going to complain.

(IC) Kat felt herself blush and smiled at James. "You've impressed me again love."
She pressed her cheek against his chest and closed her eyes, just enjoying him holding her. She could smell his colone, it was intoxicating. She felt the warmth of his chest and blushed even more. She danced with him, enjoying his warmth and the music. The band was very good. She glanced up into his eyes, oh those eyes. The gorgeous hazel color was soft and inviting. He had warm eyes...the eyes of a good man. She felt herself blush again but she couldnt stop looking at those eyes.

James had no thoughts on his mind but dancing with this beautiful woman who had fallen for him. Him of all the people in the galaxy had been lucky enough to meet her, and fall in love with her. The force was an odd thing.
