Re: Practice makes perfection (Ellie)
Calina smiled at the girl and then at Nate. “Good Luck Nate. Um if you need sleeping meds I’m sure the med center can help.” She told him before turning her attention back to Tessa.
“Pretty name, Tessa so what do you know about the CFR and the Iron Ferrets since you were talking to our leader.”
She asked as she turned to look out at the space that floated by. Her thoughts wondered but she was soon back to the current time and place as her eyes turned back to Tessa.

Re: Practice makes perfection (Ellie)
She smiled at Calina. "Thanks."
What did she know? Not very much - what was there to say? "Honestly, not much. Other than you are pilots and... this is a pirate ship..." With a laugh, Ellie trailed off again. "So you could say not a lot."
Ellie paused. "So you're a pilot too, then?" Geez, are these people pilots? Did I miss that day in school or something? It was strange - she didn't know anyone who could fly at home, and yet everyone she'd met so far could.
"So what should I know about this place?" What Ellie really wanted, but doubted Calina or anyone else would share, was the gossip. She felt out of place not knowing who was who. But she'd figure it out.

Re: Practice makes perfection (Ellie)
Calina was surprised by how less the girl knew, but everyone had been new at some point in their lives. Not to long ago she herself was new to the pirate life and the ship they currently stood within. Thinking she was trying to remember who she should warn Tessa about and what other info she might need.
“Hmm?” she asked as she was putted back from her silent train of thought. Realizing that Tess had asked her if she herself was a pilot Calina smiled. “Yeap, not only to I fly among the glorious group known as the Iron Ferrets but I also have my own ship known as Fang oh well actually registered as The Fang but I call him Fang. The Tie I fly is the number Nine and if you ever need me if you learn to fly one of those bad boys my call name is Wolf.” She said with a bow of her head.
“Well why don’t we start with who you have meet and then I can take you from there. Also where is your room? Just so you know you might want to change the log in code every time you leave your room. Some of the um gentlemen have a bit of a trouble with going where they might not be wanted. And check your vents rumor has it our resent jawa likes to curl up inside. And always check your room and seats when he’s around. He tends to be a little boom boom happy. And by boom boom I mean explosives and detonators.” She chuckled though come to think of it, it really was good advance for any new person to make their presence known on the ship of the Revenge.

Re: Practice makes perfection (Ellie)
Calina was chatty, and it made Ellie relax a little. She was the same way. "Um, I've met you and Nathaniel, of course. And Alema - she brought me here - and also Jon."
She was a little alarmed to receive a second warning about the men on the ship. That couldn't be too good. "My room's by Alema's. Seemed like a pretty good place to be." She raised and eyebrow. "And honestly - do I need to really concerned about the men? Because I keep hearing that I need to watch out. But... Jon and Nathaniel both seem very nice, you know? Harmless. Well, not harmless, thats not really the right word, they just seem like nothing to worry about."
Ellie laughed at Calina's warning about the jawa. "I'll keep that in mind." Calina didn't seem terribly concerned about being blown up, so the explosions must have not being anything more than the occasional surprise.

Re: Practice makes perfection (Ellie)
Before Calina could answer, the intercom in the observation room whispered a moment of static before the comms officer's voice came through. "Hey, Tessa. Good to find that you've started figuring your way around the ship. Calina, Nate, glad you were around. Tessa, when you get the chance feel free to log in with your datapad. I've expanded your clearance to a section of simulators that you'll be running against me. You'll see the goal of the exercise when you get to it."
The intercom was silent. No explanation for how she'd found Ellie, and no explanation of what she'd find.
When Ellie logged in to the computer system, she found herself presented with a short span of text.
"There are no tedious exercises here. Preliminaries, drills, basics, these things are boring and repetitive. When it comes to slicing, you're well aware that tedium makes a slicer bored, and boredom makes her stupid. It makes her slow and it dulls her skills. I won't ask you to go through the motions because you already know all the technical skills you'll need.
We'll work on helping you adapt and predict the person on the other end of a connection. A perfect slicer will never get caught, but even the best aren't perfect. There will be an occasion when someone finds you out. For the first exercise, shut off the supply lines to one fleet from another. There will be a point where I will step in and try to stop you. Don't let me."

Ellie was shown a schematic next. There was a small fleet working on one side of a green planet, and a larger one very nearly on the other side of the system with the green world between them. There was an asteroid belt between the targeted planet and the other three in the system. There were some obstacles between the larger reinforcement and the small primary fleet in orbit around the planet, but it was clearly Ellie's job to create more.
If Ellie looked more closely, she found that she could access a mess of encrypted transmissions among the ships of the reinforcement fleet, and every now and again a burst transmission was sent between the two fleets. This might be her avenue into the computer systems of the simulated fleet, but if this wasn't good enough for Ellie she would have to find her own way in.
((OOC: Go ahead and do your thing. If you need or want me to resolve an action, or even just break things up at appropriate stopping points, I'll post to move things along. Eventually Alema will step in and things'll ideally become a bit more challenging.))
