Re: Breakfast for Dinner (IC, CFR only)
He looked at the Twi'lek and then back to the cowboy. He shook his head to try to get a little sense of what was going one but it still didnt really help.
"Meat...and something with a kick to it" He said as he plopped into a chair.
He realised he hardly knew the rest of the crew...in speaking terms at least. He had holovids of most of them doing things in thier rooms that they would most likley be highly upset about him knowing. So he decided to make the best of it.
"So how is everyone...and exactly who the hell are you" he said pointing at Alema

Re: Breakfast for Dinner (IC, CFR only)
Alema watched, somewhat bewildered, as Savin drifted into the kitchen seemingly unaware that fresh food was being prepared by not one but two of the crew. She frowned but didn't question it. He was probably just busy. Lately she'd been dropping food off in his room since he was too busy with more important things to loiter anywhere she tended to be. Some of these very important things weren't worth resenting, so she allowed them to distract her from the ones she did.
"Thank you, Draven," she said, laying a hand briefly on the man's arm. It was important to reward such generosity and communally-minded behavior, and sometimes a moment of physical contact was all it took to let a man know he was appreciated. "I'm actually not all that hungry, but I appreciate you pitching in."
She watched him adding to the meal to suit his crewmates, and absently ran her fingernails up and down Haly's scales as he craned half of his body forward, tongue flicking curiously at the sausage. "Sh, Haly. No people-food. You wouldn't like it anyway," she whispered. "Just fed you two days ago anyway. You're not even hungry." She could have sworn the snake cast a baleful eye back at her, as if she couldn't possibly know how agonizing it was to be a starving snake.
When it became clear that Tsiil didn't know her, Alema laughed self-consciously. "Heh. Well, you've probably heard me over the intercom more than you've seen me, especially since I don't see you in the galley much. My name's Alema, and some people call me Cobalt." She gestured broadly across herself to indicate the source of the joke about her vivid coloring. "I'm the comms officer on the bridge. You?"

He smiled at Alema and chuckled "Yeah i've heard ya...i've seen you around too.." He really hadn't spent that much time on the bridge but he was going make more effort to do so. "I'm Tsiil, I'm the local cooling duct rat and demolitions expert...i'd be happy to show you my skills later...oh did I mention im also in the market of making Holovids.."
He looked at the other people in the room and then looked back to Alema "So where are you from tall, blue and gorgeous"

Re: Breakfast for Dinner (IC, CFR only)
Alema was privately taken aback. This was quite probably the first question about her past anyone on the ship had bothered to ask, flippant and flirtatious as it was. There was some doubt in her mind about just what sort of an answer to give. Sure, she could just tell him she'd been sold off Ryloth to Coruscant, and that the monstrous urban planet she'd escaped years ago was the last one she'd ever had reason to call home.
But dodging the question was likely to attract more attention than half a reply. Depending on how observant he was Tsiil might not notice, but someone else surely would if she rebuffed him. Even if the questions were never voiced, they would be there.
Best to let them continue treating her as boring old Alema. Beneath notice. Not worth their interest. It was easier that way. Their apathy toward her was a reprieve for Alema from her own prevarication and her own fear that her crewmates would begin to know her a little better than they needed to.
"I'm from Ryloth, though I haven't been back in a while. Been working," Alema replied. That only accounted for the last few months and considering she'd not seen her home since she was a teenager, that left a substantial gap. Still, half an answer was better than none. "You wouldn't think relaying messages on this ship was all that much work, but it does keep me busy and that is something to be thankful for."
The twi'lek slid into a seat at the table with her python curling down her arm, somewhat disoriented that someone was cooking and it wasn't her. Shaking it off, she reached down to pull Haly out of her sleeve. She smiled at him indulgently and put him back up on her neck. Somewhere in the midst of supervising her pet, she remembered her conversation. "So what about you, Tsiil? What brings you crashing down to join us?"

Re: Breakfast for Dinner (IC, CFR only)
"Hmm interesting, I can honestly say I have never been to Ryloth....whats it like...and are the buildings made of blast resistent material?"
He really hadnt talked too much of his past but if the others were sharing he would as well. But he really didnt want to explain why he was crawling around the ventilation ducts but what did he have to loose. "Well I fell asleep in the ventilation ducts last night after chasing down a Giant Space Gerbil...those bastards are vicious, but It ran into a pipe leading to the blackwater tank, and i wasn't about to try to follow the shutta in there" He smirked and continued "So after crawling half way through the ship I decided that I would fall asleep there and your cooking awoke me...and the force forsaken vent shaft gave way and I crashed to the floor....god I want to blow that thing up"
He shook his fist at the ship and then looked back at Alema. "Thats what i was doing...yep, I wasnt spying on the crew for my own personal enjoyment....so wheres your room"

Re: Breakfast for Dinner (IC, CFR only)"Ryloth is..." she answered hesitently. "...not so different from this, really. Now that there's more artificial lighting, it's harder to tell that nearly everything is underground. And yes." She smirked. "At least where I lived, things are mostly blast-resistent to deal with the heat storms and local wildlife."
She chose not to question most of the rest of Tsiil's story. If he was sincere, Alema was fairly sure she didn't want to know any more than she already did. He could do as he pleased, since there was only so much he could learn by spying on her anyway. She did little enough of interest.
His last question started to cross the line between inquiries she'd allow only from a deranged jawa and inquiries she wouldn't allow from anyone. Her patience wasn't unlimited, after all.
"My room," she replied politely. "Will be open to guests if they ever have a legitimate reason to be there. I assure you that if I encounter any rodents of unusual size in my quarters that are too big for Haly to eat, you'll be the first one I call to shove explosives down its throat. Do we have a deal?"

Re: Breakfast for Dinner (IC, CFR only)
Drake yawned as he walked through the hallways. They were filled with lots of weird paneling and gadgets. He wanted to look at them later or more take them apart. He smelled the scent of food wafting in from the kitchen. Smelled like pancakes and other breakfast foods. But it was super time, that made no sense to the little eight year old. He walked into the kitchen and smiled.

Re: Breakfast for Dinner (IC, CFR only)
Stretching, Calina yawned and then rubbed her eyes. She had been having nightmares the past few nights and was having trouble sleeping. ‘Think it’s time to see the doc about some sleep aid.’ She thought as she grabbed the black silk robe she had borrowed from Serrena. Walking down to the mess hall, she shivered as the coolness of the ship’s metal passed through her bare feet up to through the nerves in her body.
Walking into the room, she paused as she realized she wasn’t the only one up. Groaning she pulled the robe closed around the thinly stripped top and the boy cut shorts that served as her pajamas for the night before. Walking to where she smells the delicious scent of food, She sat down as she looked toward a plate of pancakes.
“Those look good what kind of syrup you got?” she asked the woman that had clearly run the kitchen. She knew it was Alema but didn’t want another fight or disagreement to break out. Not this morning, not after the night she had been placed through.

Re: Breakfast for Dinner (IC, CFR only)
Alema smiled softly and nodded a greeting to Calina, knowing that this situation could potentially be incredibly awkward, but also that it didn't need to be. Calina was just as welcome here as anyone else, despite the man who'd taken an opportunity to come between them. "Low on syrup, I'm afraid. We do have butter and barabel preserves, but that's about it." She nodded toward Draven over near the stove. "Draven was kind enough to take over for a while, so if you're looking for sausage or eggs, go ahead and ask him."
She watched in amusement as a young boy wandered into the kitchen. It was so unusual to see children aboard the Revenge, but for Alema at least the surprise was a welcome one. He seemed to know Tsiil and Nate well enough, and while Tsiil wasn't exactly a paragon of virtue and moral uprightness, Nate was a good kid. Polite enough, diligent in his work, dedicated to his family. Admirable qualities, and for now Alema was content to leave children wandering around in his presence.
Besides. There was always time for chocolate chip cookies later.

Re: Breakfast for Dinner (IC, CFR only)
The insomnia must have been contagious, because like the rest of the crew, Ellie couldn't sleep either.
She'd been hidden away in her quarters a large portion of the evening, high on giggledust. Most people probably didn't find giggling to themselves entertaining, but Ellie felt uncomfortable being around others when she was high - so locked up by herself was the only solution. Not that it mattered with giggledust, everything was amusing, even in lack of company.
Having mostly come down off the giggledust, Ellie was starving. There was a disappointing lack of anything to snack in her quarters, and she decided to slip (hopefully unseen) to the mess hall. It was too late to worry about being dressed in anything but pajamas, even for Ellie.
As she approached the mess, Ellie heard voices drifting down the hall, and stopped, cursing softly under her breath. Now what? She was dressed in black sweatpants and a white tank top, and Ellie wasn't particularly thrilled by the idea of anyone seeing her dressed that way. But she was hungry. Okay. No big deal. This bothers me, Ellie, not me, Tessa. Tessa doesn't care about sweatpants.
Hunger having made the decision, she strolled into the kitchen, a little surprised to see practically everyone. "Oh. Hey. Is it breakfast already?"

Re: Breakfast for Dinner (IC, CFR only)" Uncle Tsill, Second Daddy Nate. This ship is awesome, ohh when do i get to fly your TIE and when do i get to blow something up.".
Nathaniel looked up from his pancakes and groaned inwardly. He'd gotten out of one potential conflict, and found no hope of getting around this one... not unless Dev happened to come and claim her kid right about now. Nathaniel looked to Tsill, but the Jawa was already having an animated discussion with Alema.
Swallowing hard and feeling a bit sick suddenly, he waved Drake Xy over. "No TIE flying for you let, be'llano," he replied. "Hungry?"

Draven watched the kid come in and shook his head. They allowed children on the bloody ship, a vessel filled with nefarious villains. He grabbed some sausage and pancakes and sat it on the table for the kid to chow down. Draven then looked over at Nate.

Re: Breakfast for Dinner (IC, CFR only)
Calina grabbed the plate and smiled at Alema. “Thanks and I’ll take some of that butter and Barabel preserves. These smell good.” She said as she set to cut into the pancakes after she had the butter and preserves smeared on top and between the flapjacks.
Digging into them she waved to Draven after swallowing. “Can I get some sausage and maybe some sunny side up eggs?” she was hungry for some reason and so didn’t care about how piggy she looked at that moment.
Grabbing some coffee she dumped a rather large amount of sugar and cream into it and then began to drink it after letting it cool a bit. “Um silly question anyone know how to get the Holo-Trade channel?” she was curious to see how her uncle’s stocks were doing even if she hadn’t seen them since her parents death.

Re: Breakfast for Dinner (IC, CFR only)
Drake hopped up on the table and started digging into his chow. The food was good and it made his mind wander as he looked at the male cook. He looked familiar, almost like he had seen or heard of him. Then it clicked, Drake smiled at the Menderlarion.
" Cousin Draven how is it going. Im Drake, Arumi Zy Bralor's son. Your the first family member i have met o far.".
Drake smiled as he looked over at Nate. He was sad that his mothers boy friend seemed to hate him. But next time he touched his blaster or gripped the wheel on his TIE he would be in for a shock now. Tsill on the other hand let the boy mess with high explosives. A rather fun past time.
" Hiya miss Twi'lek, im Drake who are you? Are you a auntie to me also?".

Re: Breakfast for Dinner (IC, CFR only)
Nathaniel felt bad for the little boy. In a way, they'd both had tough childhoods, though his own was a few years back now. It was just that Nate had had trouble learning to be around Dev's puppies. How was he supposed to just get used to being around a kid?
"So... what are you up to, Drake? Having fun aboard the ship?" he asked, trying to make small talk.

Re: Breakfast for Dinner (IC, CFR only)
Alema nodded to Calina. "I can help you out with that if Ellie's looking to sit down and have a bite to eat. No use having techies aboard if we can't even find a Holo-channel you need."
"Hiya miss Twi'lek, I'm Drake, who are you? Are you an auntie to me also?"
Alema shook her head and chuckled. "No, a'kei, not really. My name is Alema. I don't think that your family has a large twi'lek population, I'm afraid."
The twi'lek was already one of the older crewmembers she knew, and it often meant that she ended up taking something of a maternal role with them. If they needed someone to cook for them, sew buttons back onto their coats, repair zippers or tweak custom settings on their electronics, Alema was always willing to help where she could. It was something of a treat to have an actual child aboard now and again, despite the obvious environmental hazards for children aboard a pirate ship.
At least Nathaniel seemed to be trying to make an effort. Much as she wanted to add Drake to her collection of adopted crew, Nathaniel did come first and it was more important to her that the pilot be all right.
Maybe there's something I can do to help.
With a little wink to the young boy Alema got up and rummaged around in the back of a cupboard. She'd hidden about two dozen oatmeal raisin and sugar cookies behind a large sack of rice, and this seemed like as good a time as any for them. She dumped them onto a plate and set the plate on the table between Nathaniel and Drake. With a whisper of her old quiet servitude, Alema had quickly poured both of them a glass of blue milk. "Liquor goes poorly with cookies," she told Nate, anticipating that the young pirate would question the choice of beverage she'd made for him.
More importantly, it'll give them something to do together. Eating the same cookies and drinking the same thing. They need every chance to build rapport that they can get.

Re: Breakfast for Dinner (IC, CFR only)
Ellie nodded in agreement with Alema. "Yeah, I'll help too. Shouldn't be too hard to find."
She sat down, digging into the plate of pancakes that appeared before her. "Thanks!" she said, with a grin to the twi'lek. Ellie was mostly hopeless at cooking. In fact, since she'd moved away from her parents, she'd gone out to restaurants most days. So she was glad Alema seemed to be keen on cooking - Ellie knew she wouldn't be eating much otherwise.
Watching the interactions between Alema, Nathaniel, and the child, she was glad the kid didn't seem to have taken much interest in her. it wasn't that she didn't like children - she just didn't know what to do with them. He did seem like a pretty good kid, though. She felt a little sorry for him - having him around was a weird situation for a lot of people on the ship.

Draven looked down at the young boy and ruffled his hair. His cousin had a kid eh, hmm very interesting. Draven then looked over at Alema. He winked at her as he started on some dishes.
" Hmm so Arumi finally settled down eh. That guy was bad in hi youth at bar. Terrible with one night stands and all. So who did he marry lil guy?".
Draven could see the uncomfortableness Nate had around the kid. He could almost guess why but decided not to.

Re: Breakfast for Dinner (IC, CFR only)"Arumi didn't settle down, Draven. Drake is my son."
Devorah said quietly from the doorway. A long, black silk nightgown enveloped her lithe form, flowing around her as she walked into the kitchen. Yawning, she leaned over and kissed Drake's head, smiling softly at him, before sparing a tender glance for Nathaniel.
Arching a brow at Draven, the young woman smiled brightly. "Didn't see that one coming, did you..."

Tsiil chuckled at the blue ones answer "Of course...unless that oversized rodent happens to be myself" He winked at the woman.
"Though I will assure you that i'll stay well away from your quarters if you have something that'll try to eat me...i'm the dominant one on the food chain...at least I hope i am" he said with a gulp.
He looked at his 'nephew' and chuckled, he liked the boys spirit. "Soon, but I have to be a lot drunker then this before I start in that endever....and it depends...what do you want to blow up...and where the hell did you get those glasses"
Re: Breakfast for Dinner (IC, CFR only)
The noise around the Revenge was relatively quiet tonight, and it was puzzling to Kari, so often she couldn't sleep because people were being too noisy. Tonight seemed to have the flavor of exactly the opposite. Either way, she tossed on her bed, unable to sleep, exhausted to hell but not sleepy at all. She grumbled something unintelligible, then slid on a pair of long blue pants, cheap but looking expensive, silky in texture and rather lightweight. She didn't bother with another shirt, she would just wear the plain white one she always wore to bed, save for nights when she had to do laundry.
Getting out of bed she put on her little slippers, blue as well, and started out to the kitchen. She wound through the hallways, always getting lost or confused, she was never in one spot long enough to remember exactly what it looked like, unless she had a specific order to be somewhere, then she could find it as if her life depended on it. She wondered where Serrena was, she could usually hear her talking to someone - she never inquired who - at this hour, but even that was quiet.
Finally she made her way to the kitchen, and could hear the noise that was lacking else. Oh great, she thought to herself, so much for raiding the kitchen. I hope no one found my stash...which had, of course, originally been Nate's. She quietly knocked on the door a few times and went in, glancing around and hoping not to take too much notice as to why she wasn't asleep knowing her day was going to be busy again tomorrow.
