Re: The Blind Leading the Blind (Open)"I don't know," Shakti replied. Now things were becoming interesting. Now they were hypothesizing about a culture that was somewhat novel to both of them. "I think it's useful to look at ideas of modesty like that."
She leaned forward and pointed at Stripe for emphasis. "I mean for example, everyone here has a good idea what I've got under my shirt if they just think for a moment but I don't show it to everyone, now do I? Modesty means something different to everyone. When one culture views something as too private or too embarassing to display... another culture is baffled by their reticence."
But why the eyes? Shakti had to wonder. What's so special about eyes to a species that doesn't have them?
"I guess I can't really speculate as to the moral or ethical significance of covering that particular thing." She turned to Enset. "Perhaps you can lend me some insight." The pun was unintentional, but not lost on her. "Do you have personal opinions on the practice?"
Re: The Blind Leading the Blind (Open)"Not strongly, I'm afraid. It is much as you said--it has become like wearing clothes. It would generally not be impractical to go without, but," and he considered his words selectively, "to do that might be frowned upon, and likely find you ostracized until you 'correct' your ways, so to speak, and make repentance." He didn't seem very confident in what he was saying; it seemed he was figuring it out himself as he spoke.
"I guess one could go without paying attention to these rules, but one's dealings with that society would be needlessly short, and depending on the nature of the etiquette, it might be worth the trouble to keep from losing face in their eyes."

The discussion on the customs of the Miraluka was an intriguing one. Not quite so curious as the philosophies as the Sith and Jedi, but one worthy of note nonetheless. Growing weary of eavesdropping, and feeling somewhat impudent for listening to the conversation without the knowledge of those involved, Ophion decided to act. He closed the book in his hands and, placing it into the breast-pocket of his jacket, turned towards the small gathering.
“Pardon my intrusion,” he began, “But I could not help but overhear your discussion... I wonder if you might permit me to join, or at least to listen to what you all have to say. I have a personal interest in the... customs of the Miralukan society, and would find your – if you will forgive my phrasing – insight invaluable.”

The man's aura was obvious, and Enset immediately felt a fool for having presumed that the dark feelings this man was emanating had been coming from Shakti. Nonetheless, another Sith was precisely what he had been looking to find, perhaps someone who could explain why the Jedi seemed to fear them as much as they did--meeting two here was an uncanny stroke of good fortune.
He stood, and offered his seat to the large man who, apparently, had at least one functioning eyeball. "Of course, by all means; we would enjoy your company." He pulled another seat from a nearby less-occupied table and sat across from the two Sith as well as he might manage around where Stripe was standing.
These Sith seemed to be good people. Very polite, well-spoken, and neither of them had killed anybody as long as Enset had known them. What were the Jedi so worried about?
